If LaFleur values health over winning and seeding for this game, then there’s no reason not to sit most of the starters.  There’s still a chance to get the 6 seed (if Dallas beat Washington) but that game is after the Packers.

As much as a despise losing to TBSS (on those rare occasions), at this point I’d favor rest. The starters don’t need to play even a quarter at this point in the season. And the backups are clearly capable of beating TBSS.

Love gets a quarter? Maybe a half?

Treat it like a bye?

Play the starters the whole damn  game. They need to play together and get back to the plays we saw a few weeks ago. Practice makes perfect. Screens, crossing routes, jet sweep with Reed, practice those in game conditions until it becomes second nature.

I think losing to this Bears team on its own merits would be worse than the fact it would be a 2 game losing streak going into the playoffs.

Feels like there could be a let down after this loss.  MLF has to keep them sharp.

I genuinely want the first 20 plays to either be handing it off to Jacobs or a pass to a tight end.

So help me god if they do a weird end around to a wide receiver

I think you got to play the starters for as long as the outcome of the game is in question. I just don't think it's that easy for teams to turn it "off" and "on" going into the playoffs. I think you need any momentum you can get moving forward.

Hell no, rest everyone you need to. Playoffs mean everything right now. Bragging rights about Chicago is way down the list. There is no double the Packers can win against Detroit, Minnesota or Philly. Just get healthy and play man to man when it is 4th an effin 2.

The Packers are capable of beating anyone in the NFC. 4 of the 5 games against the Lions, Vikings, and Eagles were one possession games under 2 minutes.

Rest everyone you need to rest. Would you rather have Watson, Alexander, and Walker at as close to full strength as possible and ensure that Love, Jacobs, Kraft, McKinney, and Cooper are healthy or try to win a game that is probably not even going to matter?

Even if the Redskins beat the fading Cowboys, I'd rather have more players fully healthy and play at Philly than get more guys dinged up and play at the Rams.

If the Redskins had a tough game, then maybe you go all out to win and get the 6 seed. But MM is probably going to be fired before he leaves the locker room tomorrow that night.

Fuck no, that's a soft loser mentality.   You never concede a fucking inch, especially to the division.

Do not lift the foot off the throat of that franchise.

This guy gets it  "I'll make this easy for you, we are bringing everything we got for this game.  We are going out to play and win."

You absolutely play to win. Every game. Doesn’t mean you play your starters for 4 quarters. And as I stated, the backups are clearly capable of beating the Bears. You hold a probable “meaningless” game against TBSS in much higher regard than I hold a game in the playoffs. That’s your perigative.

edit - one caveat being LaFleur hasn’t necessarily been exceptional going into the first game after a bye week.

Keep in mind Da Bears dang near beat us in the earlier game this year. We only won due to an improbable blocked FG as time expired. They will be playing hard to beat us and end their season on a positive note.

Doug - Exactly.

PackLandVA - It's far from a meaningless game.   You don't want them getting a sliver of confidence.   They need to know that the Bears lose to the Packers, that's just how it's going to go for them.

The back ups are clearly capable of beating the Bears?  The starters barely scraped by in game one.

Completely wrong thread, but how much do you all hate the Vikings and pray they shit the bed in the playoffs??? Sorry, at dinner and wife's in the bathroom and am still pissed.

Vikings are playing really well right now. While them losing in the playoffs would be sweet, them getting beat if they made it to the Super Bowl would be just epic.

Damn right I do, at least some of them.    and I would absolutely love the queens to lose.  Playoffs for sure, but it would be so awesome if they did lose in the Super Bowl, I could at least show myself in the neighborhood with pride.    I’ve been in hiding since.

Using similar logic, the Packers are destined to barely lose to the Eagles, Vikings or Lions in the playoffs??

The Bears are in a much worse position now (health) and the team has mostly given up. Have you watched them lately.
