This is going to sound petty but I don't care.  My ex in laws are rabid Browns fans so beating that team on Christmas definitely wouldn't suck.

I haven't watched a whole lot of Browns games this year but what I have seen I cannot figure that team out.  They will beat the snot out of the Bengals and turn around the next week and lose by 35 to the Patriots.  Two things that I worry about on their offense is they can run the ball pretty well and they also have a pretty good TE.

Garett uncertain to play Saturday with a groin injury…

The loss of Garrett β€” the Browns best defensive player and a leading candidate for NFL Defensive Player of the Year β€” would be monumental in and of itself. But it would be much worse now with Takk McKinley suffering a ruptured left Achilles during the game that will require surgery and will keep him out up to a year, and with Jadeveon Clowney being placed on COVID-19 on Sunday.

I did that to my left achilles when I was 25.  I was playing raquetball, jumped up to hit a shot and then immediately jumped forward to hit another shot and I could swear the person I was playing kicked me in the back of my leg.  I crumpled to the floor, but when I looked back, the other guy was way at the back of the court.  I stood up, but couldn't push off on that leg.  I suspected, but I was hoping for the best.  Reached to the back of my ankle, and sure enough, it was just mush.  No achilles.  What a brutal injury.  Three months in a cast, and when the cast came off I looked in horror at my calf and about fell off the table in the Dr.'s office because I didn't have any calf muscle left.  It took a year to walk normally, and I never recovered my speed or ability to jump very high off that leg.

Of course these guys can hire the best when it comes to recovery/rehab, but I still feel for any athlete that this happens to.  It can end a career.

As someone that now works in GB (relatively close to the stadium) there’s a lot of chatter about low ticket demand for the Browns game.

Yes it’s on Christmas, but 3:30 start time and moderate temps (mid 30s) make this a decent option for a later season game.  If you want to go, it shouldn’t cost you an arm and a leg and both teams need this game so should be a decent contest.

Did the topic of Packer games not come up before marriage? Mrs. Kiel calls the shots on most aspects of our lives, but Packer games are sacred non-negotiable events. We have scheduled vacations and other events around them.

Carry on…and if you need to show her what I wrote to your wife, you have my blessing.

Oh you best believe the topic of Packers games and their sanctity came up before marriage.  Of course, at the time she said that was fine.  Just like she said she would be fine not having kids.  That's OK, I told her I'd be coming into a lot of money.  That way we were both disappointed.

JK.  Packers games are sacred 99% of the time - she kows it, her family knows it.  I'm a little more flexible because I get to have Sunday Ticket, therefore I can record a game and watch it later.  Of course knowing this, she pushes for more recordings sometimes, but I push back.  I get an angry look and she's annoyed, but it goes away.  This is one of the few times I'll give in.  It's only one game out of the season.

Damn, I feel this. I did the same thing but I was 44 and it happened playing softball. And then to outdo myself, I tore the other one 16 months later (softball again) when I was just at the point of being able to do something between jogging and running. Went surgical repair on the 2nd tear and recovery went much faster. And the six or seven weeks of relying 100% on the left leg did a great job of finishing off my rehab on it.
