He was just standing there and all he would have had to do is catch and easy pass.
I thought the play call was great. No one saw it coming. YMMV...

Look at how many "easy" INTs defensive backs drop.

We all have teams we have personal rivalries against. Of course, the biggest are vs the Bores and Vikes.

For me, it's always been DallAss. I always had a healthy respect for Landry and a player occasionally (Staubach), but couldn't stomach arrogant assholes like Don Meredith. When they began whining about the Ice Bowl game, it ignited a hatred of them that still burns white-hot to this day.

Of course, any time we play them, I always root for the Packers to deliver a bruising, crushing defeat.

The odds of that happening this year may be about the same as hitting the Powerball lottery.

@WesHod:  LaFleur says Christian Watson did not suffer a concussion. It was precautionary. MLF said he wanted to go back in but #Packers felt it was in his best interest to shut him down. "He cleared everything. He took a nice shot in the chest and lost his breath. It's unfortunate."

Matt LaFleur on Aaron Jones' chances to play vs. Dallas: "There's potential for that. ... He was trying to get back out there, too. Just want to be safe with him."

LaFleur added that Eric Stokes (ankle/knee) is the other injury that is potentially the most serious among the others who were injured yesterday.

Watson needs another year of weightlifting and conditioning to be able to take hits from NFL players.  Dude gets injured just looking at him.  Hopefully not a harbinger of things to come.

What a f-ing joke (not worth starting a thread over)

@AdamSchefter:  Breaking: Colts are naming their former six-time Pro-Bowl C and ESPN analyst Jeff Saturday as their interim head coach. Saturday has been a consultant for the team, is in its Ring Of Honor, and also was head coach for the Hebron Christian Academy football team in Dacula, Georgia.

Ha-hey! Nice to see a former Packer rise up the ranks, err leapfrog the ranks to become a first time (NFL) head coach. #packerpeople #fresh #wtf

It wouldn't hurt. But some guys are just prone to injury, and in particular head/neck. I gotta admit after that one yesterday, I'm concerned about the kid and his future, saying nothing about the team or the draft pick. Two times where there was contact and two concussions in such a short period is not a good sign. Sometimes it doesn't matter how tough a guy is. We've seen plenty of hard nosed football players careers end due to this very thing. At this point, it feels like one more thing that went wrong because it could, and no pre-emptive type thing would have helped.

That is good news on Watson.  I still don’t know if he’s a good player, but he’s had a terrible time staying healthy.

As for Dallas, yeah I despise them on the same level as the Cubs and Cardinals and Bears and Queens and Yankees and Celtics and Lakers.

That being said, what a way for MM to waltz back into town.  Packers are reeling and on life support and the Cowboys are coming off a bye week and you know McCarthy would love to embarrass and humiliate the team and QB that kicked him to the curb.  I can’t think of a worse matchup given the timing and motivations and everything else on the line.  It could be a massacre.

So once they suspect a concussion, you are out for the rest of the game?  I thought the concussion protocol was on the sideline, but the Tua fiasco may have changed that.

I have to say though, if I got a couple concussions, I'd have to consider calling it quits too.  We have some posters coming out of the woodwork who are proof positive you need to protect your brain.

So all those crappy losses ending the Packers post season in the early 90's was all unicorns and rainbows?

Oh, man!
I remember Reggie throwing a fit on the sidelines, saying he was tired of losing to them every year. He didn't think some of the guys were playing hard enough ("you don't act like you care"), if memory serves.
Those sonsabitches thumped us in the 1990's, beating the Packers during the regular season, then in the playoffs three consecutive years ('93-'95), and added one more regular season win in '96 (All in DallAss), until we finally got a home game in '97 and thumped 'em.
That was indeed a most bitter pill to swallow!

Some called that beating DAL took at Lambeau in 97 the official end of their dynasty.

With AR, we've pretty much owned them in the regular season and in the playoffs.

Depends on what their plans were for the D.  Doesn't seem like anything has gone as planned.  Also depends on what they were planning on doing with Walker.  Were they expecting him to read his keys and charge gaps vs the run?  It wasn't one of his strengths at UG.  Is he still not doing that because he can't or because that's not the role Barry designed for him?

It's clear the D still stinks vs the run.  Is Walker part of the reason or is he out of position?  Maybe both.

You just feel like Barry does not know how to use the talent he has on D properly and includes everyone from Walker to Savage (playing a role he’s not suited for, should be a robber close to the line of scrimmage). Wyatt can’t sniff any real playing time either and his maturity was supposed to be a strength as a rookie.

The Packers are 6th in total defense and 15th in points allowed. Barry will undoubtedly get a pass because this teams offense can’t score and they are always playing from behind. Now you can add injuries as another excuse. I’d be shocked if at this point he’s fired at seasons end. Too many excuses keeping him his job currently in the mix to be here again in ‘23

Am I the only person who gets confused by posts by michiganjoe  and MichiganPacker ? Both are very good posters IMO, but I struggle remembering who posts what. I almost had to to a "cut and paste " getting the proper capitalization of their moniker names in here, and I'm still not 100% I got it right.

I really, really like them both. Glad they post here.

on myself first to go out there and to impact the game and to be great," Rodgers said during his Tuesday appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show." "I still know I have that within me. I’m still the reigning, defending two-time MVP. Regardless who's out there with me, guys want to come battle they know where to find me."

Ironically, sounds very similar to the "I am a highly successful football coach " visiting Lambeau this weekend.

That ‘97 beat down was one of the more fun Packer’s games I’ve ever watched.  I could be wrong, but I believe Michael Irvin was crying after that game was over.  He knew the Cowboys’ days as a relevant force in the NFL were over.

@WesHod: LaFleur doesn't have an update on Eric Stokes (ankle/knee): "Hopefully we'll know something later in the week"

@BillHuberNFL:  Christian Watson won't be held back this week, LaFleur said. Noted he was hit on shoulder, not head.

It was quick but it sure looked like Watson went into a "fencing" position for a couple of seconds on the ground after that hit. But he was stable when he got up. Glad it wasn't the noggin again.

I thought I recalled that as well but wasn't sure.  That game started off in full Favre fashion with Deion pick-sixing him, maybe on the opening drive?  I remember thinking "oh no.  not again."
