A receiver didn't cause 12 to throw the ball into a defenders facemask or lob a ball short on the try to Bak or throw short to Toure or throw the interception on the pass to Tonyan. Watkins definitely sucks but there was illegal contact or interference on the last throw.

I started watching the Warner video but quit about half way thru. he kept say he didn't know this, was n't sure what the play was, etc etc.  So why was he even commenting if he didn't know?

Actually, he kinda sucks at the format. JT O'Sullivan does a much better job than what I heard out of Warner.

Really looks like death by 1000 paper cuts.  In a lot of plays in the video, Rodgers needs to throw the ball out of (or before) a receiver breaks.  If he sees the receiver run too wide, short, fall down, whatever, he's not going to throw, even if they eventually do get open.

Combine that with the o-line problems and he looks a bit skittish back there.  He's missing reads and some wide open players. He either just doesn't see them, or would rather escape the pocket to extend a play rather than lean into a throw and take a hit.

I get the sense that if Rodgers doesn't see a play executed perfectly, he just gives up on it, and then goes into sandlot mode.  And the receivers are certainly not running the plays correctly when you got guys falling down or literally running the wrong way from where AR threw the ball, etc.  He can't trust them to be where he expects them, so he gives up on it.

Add on to this Rodgers inaccuracy as of late.  Lots of balls behind or low, etc. Rodgers is right that it's the WR's job to catch the ball (and Adams always caught those ducks) but it also pays to help your WR out a bit.

Honestly the most damning thing from the video is just how non-physical our receivers are.  Detroit manhandled our WR's off the line, and bullied them into positions on the field they shouldn't be in.  You'd think a WR core that was so good at blocking would be physical on routes, but holy hell they are soft as can be.

Indeed, he should in fact model himself after this place... where knowers of things post their infallible football wisdom.

Except non of us get paid for our wisdom.  Well, maybe you do.  Nah.

Really good point. The difference I think is that with blocking they don't have to be as athletic, have a burst, or have great footwork. Toure & Doubs aren't yet strong enough. Watkins & Lazard aren't athletic enough. Haven't seen enough of Watson yet, but with his athleticism & size he should be able to beat press coverage. This has really been a problem for a couple of years now. The game at TB comes to mind, when we were up early and then they went press man and the whole game changed. The steps of the QB are synched to the steps of the receiver and when either the defender jamming or the WR running the wrong route, or not running it correctly, it messes everything up.

WTF is this nonsense. Future Packer Hall of Famer Blake Martinez sells Pokemon card for $600k+, retires mid-season at age 28?

I'm starting to suspect that I live inside the Matrix.

We are all living in the movie Idiocracy I swear.  I know nothing about Pokemon (primarily because I like girls) but I am honestly shocked a card is that expensive.

@RapSheet:   #Packers coach Matt LaFleur tells reporters that CB Eric Stokes is likely lost for the season with the injury he suffered last week.

@ByRyanWood:  Matt LaFleur says initially there was hope De'Vondre Campbell could return from his knee injury this week vs. Cowboys, but that now looks unlikely. Just not enough time.

LaFleur was optimistic about Aaron Jones.

I know I will get about a dozen reasons why not ( lol) but I have always wondered why at least one receiver can't just " Run to Daylight" and get open, maybe two recs at a time.  The other receivers could run a route. I did that in high school and was open more times than not.  I was a star !! (in PE class) lol'

I really think that Lazard even Doubs, to an extent, are strong enough to get out of jams and throw a decent block to free someone up if needed.

Time to get Abram up to speed.  He may see playing time sooner rather than later.

Glad to see you all got back to talking about the upcoming Cowboys game in this topic.

I was starting to get worried that I would show up at Lambeau on Sunday and get turned away at the gate.

And yes, get Abram ready. Put Savage in the slot and Ford at safety this week and work Abram in when he's ready.

I don’t get this talk about Savage being possibly good in the slot.

He can’t or won’t tackle worth a damn and he’s closer to the line of scrimmage there… and don’t get me going about his inability to cover. After watching him get roasted by the Ravens’ relatively slow TE Mark Andrews last season (just one example that comes to mind) I shudder to think about him covering any WR with any semblance of quicks.

I don't expect him to be good but they gotta put someone there. The positive would be having someone else take his spot on the back end.

I realize that draft status, contract $, etc. plays a part in how much opportunity players get, but , IMHO, the staff has been really slow to replace / decrease reps of struggling players. How long did we go with Newsome before deciding Tom was better? Watkins shouldn't see the field. Savage reps should be cut in favor off Ford. McDuffie looked significantly better In limited reps) vs. the run than Walker (who I think was a mistake to automatically make him 3 down starting LBer) does. There just doesn't seem to be a fear of losing your job ....which is the greatest motivator in the world.

You missed one of the most obvious - Amari Rodgers. He might be the worst punt returner in the NFL and his fumbled punt (his 4th fumble in half a season) was part of the reason they lost to the Commanders. Yet, because they traded up to get him in the 3rd round, they still trot him back there every game.

Back on subject, that I got off of earlier, lol.  I pick the Pack over the Boys this week. We stunned the world losing to the Lions now stun everyone by beating Dallass. Makes us kind of even the last two weeks.

PS: I think the best spot for Savage  this weekend is the bench warmer.

Was he drafted to be a punt returner?

I predict the Packers get a convincing win.  They finally get the spark they need to start a winning streak.

Watson gets 8 catches for 100+ yards.  Rodgers looks like his old self and throws 3 TDs.  The defense gets aggressive and holds the Cowboys to less than 50 yards rushing and less than 14 points.
