Packers injury report:

@WesHod: #Packers injury report: Out - TE Bostick, OLB Elliott. Probable - G Lang, G

Sitton

@WesHod: MM on Lang/Sitton: Looks good. They had a good day yesterday. They went through rehab today. Tomorrow, probably next to nothing.

@WesHod: MM on Bostick: I think his work Tuesday will probably be his biggest indicator. It's not long-term. It's not a big injury.

GB will dress only 2 TEs Sunday unless they activate Perillo from the PS. As Bostick's injury doesn't sound serious IMO they'll roll the dice and go with Quarless and Rodgers and hope neither get nicked during the game.

This is just a terrific look at the Packers by Fran Duffy at the Eagles web site, especially when breaking down the passing game.  Lots of All-22 shots and route breakdowns. Might take a while for all the .gifs to load but great work. Highly recommended.

Stuff like this:

Look at how this concept works. The vertical route from the No. 3 receiver inside (Jordy Nelson) carries the middle linebacker up the field, creating space between the hashes. The curl route from the No. 2 receiver (Jarrett Boykin) holds the hook defender to that side in place. This allows the dig route from No. 1 (Randall Cobb) to run clean into the middle of the field, catch the ball on time and sprint in for a touchdown.

This is a great play design with great game planning and execution from the Packers. But these complex designer plays aren’t really what make up the meat of the Packers' game plan. Schematically, they are actually very basic in their passing game. They run a lot of very simple concepts that you see at every level of the game, and they run them at a very high rate and at a high level.

Those are fantastic cuqui - thanks for bringing them here and they include commentary from one of my favorites- Greg Cosell

Four for Friday, courtesy of Jeff Ash and the GBPG archives.

Bob Mann, Packers' 1st black player, catches pass during 37-24 win over Eagles at old City Stadium on 10/14/1951.

Max McGee with 25-yd TD pass vs. Eagles DB Walt Kowalczyk in Packers' 38-35 win at new City Stadium on 10/26/1958.

Willie Davis pressures Eagles QB King Hill during Packers' 30-13 victory at Lambeau Field on 9/15/1968.

I'm open, Paul Coffman signals to Lynn Dickey in Packers' 21-10 loss to Eagles at Lambeau Field on 11/25/1979.

Unless I'm mistaken isn't that D. Adams scoring the TD in that GIF?

Boykin at the bottom of your screen & Cobb running the button-hook (#2)

The point stands but it's actually more impressive that a rookie ran that combo route. Great to see!

Pretty cool, though they got the players wrong. Boykin is wide left, Cobb runs the curl and Adams catches the TD.

@ByRyanWood: #Packers have signed TE Justin Perillo to active roster from practice squad and released backup tackle Jamon Meredith.

@TomSilverstein: Wouldn't be surprised to see Meredith back at some point. Tretter is the backup LT right now.

With Bostick down, only had 2 TEs available to go tomorrow otherwise.

I actually think(read 'hope') that Bradford will be a special player in the future.

I love his natural abilities. I think with the proper coaching he could be special.

but, then, I said the same thing about Borland a few months ago.

so what do I know?

pretty much nothing.

except Borland seems to be having pretty good appearances........

Bradford may have just been playing out of position in camp. A lot of scouts and analysts thought his best fit in the 3-4 was at ILB. I won't give up on him completely until I see him playing that spot after some time getting used to the position.

I understand that it is colledge and not pro ball, but he really has shown he can get after it.

I really like the guy and wish him success. high energy motor... love it and hope it can all come together for him at the pro level.

perhaps long term he could be the answer and replacement for Hawk. Although, I am not a Hawk hater, it would be nice to see more production from the inside backers without needing to move CMIII.....

Look, I am not anointing the guy, but, I do like what he could possibly bring to the defense. perhaps even with Hawk still being the qb for the front 7, who knows....

Hopefully he just needs that extra year of development from colledge to the pros?
