Below is a list of Lions players NOT PLAYING SUNDAY:

Stafford QB, Driskel QB, M. Jones WR, M. Hall WR, Dahl G, Wiggins G,  Hockenson TE, Hand DE, Daniels DT, J. Davis LB, C. Jones LB, and Tavai LB.

Starting RT Wagner and starting DT A. Robinson did not play against Denver on Sunday and may well be out again this Sunday.

All but the bolded players are starters.

Wednesday Lions' injury (how do we make sure not to blow our top 3 pick) report:

Wagner and Robinson are not practicing and are not expected to suit up Sunday.

And Left tackle Taylor Decker (ankle), linebacker Devon Kennard (shoulder) and safety Tavon Wilson (hamstring) were limited participants.

Merry Christmas Packer fans.

So hereโ€™s the Christmas gift the Lions are giving the Packers:  On offense, no Matthew Stafford at QB (replaced by David Blough) and 2 of their top 3 receivers -- WR Marvin Jones and TE TJ Hockenson โ€“ missing (replaced by Chris Lacy and Jesse James).   On defense, DL backups Mike Daniels and Dโ€™Shawn Hand missing (replaced by Jamie Meder and John Atkins), no Jarrad Davis at ILB and Christian Jones at OLB (replaced by Jason Cabinda and Steve Longa), and no Quandre Diggs at S after being traded to the Seahawks (replaced by Tavon Wilson).

The Lions still have a formidable DL with DTs Aโ€™Shawn Robinson and Damon Harrison and DE Trey Flowers.  And Kerryon Johnson is recently back at RB behind a pretty good OL, with OTs Taylor Decker and Ricky Wagner and C Frank Ragnow.

All that said, we are currently 10 point favorites.  Iโ€™ll be happy to win by 1 point, and then root like hell for the Seahawks, who are 3 point underdogs at home, to beat the 49ers and give us the #1 seed.  Merry Christmas guys.  Go Pack!

The Lions currently are currently the #3 seed. They are right in the thick of the Chase Young sweepstakes. A Skins upset at Dall-ass (not entirely umpossible) , and they move up to #2. I really can't see them playing all that hard to drop further from being in the top #3

Here's the thing. Lions players on the field this Sunday have zero interest in improving the draft position of the team so a rookie can instantly take someones job.

I can't agree with this part.   Not all 53 players will be replaced for 2020.  Some of the guys who know they will be there in 2020 want to see better personnel and depth on the team.   They may not go all out for the reasons of not getting injured and want to improve the team for the future.  JMHO.

I agree with those that say pro players are not going to hold back for getting a better draft choice.  I can't really believe they would think that way or care so much.  I also doubt they will hold back excessively to prevent injury as playing like that is more likely to get one hurt.  From my own experience (obviously not pro), nothing pisses others players more and causes them to lose respect for you as not putting out on the field.

I do think if the Packers can control the early part of the game any intensity that the Lions have may diminish quickly.  On the other hand if the Packers start as they did in MN and turn the ball over and hand easy points to the Lions, the Lions will smell blood and start believing in an upset. Packers should beat them anyways, the teams that give them trouble are ones with good QBs and very good defenses, neither of which is the Lions have. but this team has been uneven all year and there have been bigger upsets this year.

This is not a "means nothing" game for Detroit.  They have the ability to directly impact the playoffs in addition to beating a division rival and ending their season on a positive note.  They will come out fired up is my guess.  If the Pack can get up early, then the Lions will fold up shop and quit.  Otherwise, the longer they stay in the game, the harder a Packer victory will become.

Should be an easy win, "but that's why they play the game".

Players have too much pride to tank. And not many of them are secure for 2020. You can have that contract ripped out from under you at any time aside from a handful of stars. They want to put good tape out there for that next contract. The only guys in the NFL that can actually tank a season is the GM by running a sale on as many players as they can or the HC can tank a game by sitting out players.

I thought it was Barr.  If it was both of them then that's outstanding.

38-7, yeah those guys are ready for the "big lights".

This ain't 2011 anymore. I believe the Niners will go into Seattle & curb stomp them.

They just lost to the Cardinals....by 2 TD's in their building....with Brett Hundley at QB sticking in the dagger. That's their 3rd loss at home & it probably should've been more. (Bengals,  Bucs in OT, Rams missed FG).

For all the Packer "faults" nobody is talking about the Seahawks that way. Why? Because they have a younger QB that's supposedly playing better than Rodgers.

The Seahawks ain't this big scary machine. No, that's the Niners & Saints.

Niners are going to crush Seattle & it won't even be close. They're weak.

The Packers won in their House of Horrors (Stapler) Now the Niners are going to do the same on Sunday Night in their House of Horrors.

Setting up....Vikings traveling to New Orleans. Seattle vs. the Eagles/Dallas.

That's how I see this playing out & Packers have a coveted bye (#2).

Personally I donโ€™t think Detroit lays down. I know it inevitably falls on the players, but I really believe the responsibility of both teamโ€™s performance falls on the coaches and how they prepare each squad for Sunday.
If your Patricia you better as hell instill in your team that laying down is  a reflection on you as an individual and collective team, and no person/player with any sort of self worth gives up on the season. Youโ€™re play is a reflection on who you are as a person. Think about what you take away with an upset.

If youโ€™re LaFleur your motivation is more tangible given the postseason implications, but you better as hell have the team ready to put Detroit away early and not get into a nail biter that threatens a first round bye and puts any of your starters at unnecessary injury risk.
Eff those people who say  if these teams need any additional motivation then thereโ€™s an inherent problem to begin with. Every team needs the right coaching to make sure their team is ready week to week and every player is motivated to play at their best level. Thatโ€™s what make certain coaches โ€œgreatโ€ and as a result teams great.

I'm not seeing the curb stomping at all.  Seattle already went down to SF and beat them at their place a few weeks ago.  SF may win, but a blowout is unlikely IMO.

I fully expect GB to be highly motivated heading into Detroit.  There's so much on the line I'd be shocked if they just went through the motions.  Detroit may start off hot but the talent differential will shine through in short order.

Fans on the other hand can be as confident and cocky as they want... they're not lining up and playing.

A 3rd string QB isn't going to beat GB.  Not happening...
