Are the Lions an NFL team? Is that why we have to play them? Not familiar with their work. How many Super Bowls?

I want to give the Loins some respect, because they were a force in the 1950's. Yeah, it's ancient history, but 3 NFL Championships in the 50's (and 4 overall) ain't nothing to sneeze at. And they are the Packers second-oldest rival.
However, after watching them become a dome team, and flounder since, at least for the last 20 years or more, it makes it too easy to forget about that and remember them for their perpetual clown shows. And the ones yet to come...

Will be interesting to see if they give Dexter Williams an opportunity.

MLF was complimentary of his progress today in his PC, but he did not go so far as to say he was expecting him out there or he'd be getting significant snaps.

By default, I'd assume he'll be active, but I am guessing Tyler Ervin will get the reps.

Don't know why Fedya isn't all over the news that Aaron and Danica just plopped 28 Mil on a Malibu crib.

The house cost 10 mil. The other 18 mil was for renovations to replace all the inside walls with Nascar's "Safe Barrier" to limit impending damage from collisions!

My opinion is that before this team starts basking in its glory and fans start talking about taking its foot off the gas, we still need to WIN the next game. Fans are already talking like this is a done deal. It’s not. “One game at a time” got us here. It’s a short week and the team expended a lot of energy to win at the stapler. The All eleven mantra still holds. We almost lost the last time we played the Lions.

You presaged me and I commend you.  I am hoping the Packers take this very seriously,  get the game in hand and get the starters to the hot dog stand (hopefully by half time).  It seemed last Sunday like GB had 14 defenders on the field (kind of like the 1st 2 games of the season) and I hope that relentless pursuit and attention to detail continue.    Also, to the New Years fairy please bring 12 a few long balls Sunday.  A smidgen of trust from AR could lead to many TD's in the playoffs but those passes can't continue to dribble off the fingertips!!

But, but...his home is in Wisconsin! Yeah...right. (For income tax purposes.)

The States take taxes out of a paycheck depending on where you earn it.  For example the game checks for the 49er game (and chargers game) will have California state tax applied.   8 games will have Wisconsin tax taken out. The bears game IL.  The vikes game MN... these guys tax returns have to be about 300 pages long.

Aaron can likely choose where to earn the State Farm endorsement money.  (It might depend on where the commercials were shot).

If this weren’t the case - I’d buy a PO Box in Texas and earn all my income there (no state income tax).

Theoretically this is actually a decent selling point on playing in Miami, Jacksonville Dallas or Houston (no state income tax) vs. New York or California.

LeBron saved a couple of million a year playing for the Heat instead of the nicks....

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong... but that doesn't sound right at all.

This is fun.

1.) Keep in mind this was posted in July 2019 but I believe this is a check from 2004. This player also plays in Florida so at least his home games were state tax free.

2.) This is for ONE pay period.

3.) My employer also uses ADP. My checks look nothing like this.

This also helps you understand (well, at least I hope) how a 22 year old kid, who’s brain is not even fully developed, who comes from a life of poverty OR his background is such that his family really struggled financially could “wildly” spend this stupidly or not invest it properly.

I fully remember being young and stupid and when I’d get the slightest influx of cash I wasn’t expecting how I’d rip through it in no time.

Now imagine that X a 1000. 😳

The view from Detroit:

There’s no reason to overthink this pick. The Lions have lost eight straight and are one of the three worst teams in the NFL. They’re barely dimensional on offense, lack playmakers on defense and are injury-ravaged on both sides of the ball.

The Packers, meanwhile, are playing for a first-round bye and coming off a division-clinching road win against the Minnesota Vikings. I guess facing an opponent on a short week, after an emotional victory, opens the door a crack for the Lions. But finishing games isn’t this team’s strong suit and considering their I-75 eyes are already on the offseason, there’s no reason to think that will change Sunday.

Pick: Packers 28, Lions 13

Kind of amazing what adding a little speed and quickness to the roster can do.

I've been beating that drum for a number of years. The Packers have needed to be bigger, faster and quicker. They still need that but are slowly adding a few pieces (Jones, Alexander, Ervin, Savage).

Now they really need to add that at WR/ILB/3rd RB for next season.

Why do I feel like, with everyone predicting an easy win, it will end up winning by a Crosby field goal?

Because that is how the last game against the Lions this season ended - at Lambeau?

Eazy pickins, 3rd week in a row  Triputsky, Couzins, David Blough, who the heck is that, another Qb that is not even capable of being a backup.  Lions just want to lock up a top 3 pick,  and head to the golf course ,   lets just stay healthy

GB 21

Det 10

Score will be 31-13 late. David Blough or the other guy they might put in looks all world as Packers try to kill the clock.

Final score....31-20 Packers

Lions with the back door cover. (+13)

Wrong it is... damn that seems strange though.  My job is in Wisconsin but I've been out of the state on business many times, even for several months straight, and only paid Wisconsin taxes.  I figured it would be the same for professional athletes... Or maybe the IRS needs to have a chat with me?  lol

Man, what a mess...

I am like everybody else on this forum-  I would gladly sit through all 60 minutes of a 52-3 GB blowout of Detroit drinking beer and high Fiving all my Packer Friends, whom I have fretted with,   cursed the TV with when things weren't going well and have a great time.  I expect GB to take care of business BUT everytime I think about tomorrow I also think about another  year when GB had the chance to get the 1 seed (2002) and the Jets handed GB their rectums so I hope I am not disappointed- and my early  New Years gift will be seeing the Oline at the hot dog stand right after halftime.  Heck I would even send a few bucks via Go Fund me to pay the fine !!
