Wish I could be that young again, I was only 27 years old for that ‘96 NFC Championship game. I’m twice that old now, but ‘96 feels like 1000 years ago.
As for this year’s game, I fully expect a nailbiter. We haven’t played good football at all the last 2 weeks and even a team as poor as Carolina has a fighting shot against us because of it.
The Panthers are very good vs the pass (ranked #3), but I'm not sure how. They don't give up very many yards, but don't generate sacks (only 20) or INTs (8).
They aren't good vs the rush (ranked 21st) and give up tons of points (an average of 24.9/game, ranked 29th).
Offensively, they are fair at rushing (ranked 17th) but suck at passing (31st) and scoring (29th).
I therefore expect a game that mirrors the Giants game; close throughout and late-game failures on defense will lose the game.
Followed by another week of bullshit from MLF defending his DC.
By Sunday evening, artists will begin work on Bryce Youngs bust for Canton.

Oh crap that means their RB Chubba Hubbard is going to have a monster game running the ball and Thielen will have a game that makes him look like he was 5 years ago. I am being dead serious by the way.
That 1996 game is still my favorite Packers game of all time even more than the Super Bowls. I was stationed in DC at the time and there were 4 of us from Wisconsin all the same age who had lived through the dark ages and we got together to watch the game. After it was over we had a victory shot together when the game was over and I am too shy to admit the air in my apartment was a bit dusty that day. We just looked at each other and said is this from freaking real?
For some reason, this game does not seem so winnable.
Bryce Young has thrown 1 touchdown pass since November 5th. Look for him to throw at least twice that amount this week.

Young has also ran for 200 yards this season. I look for him to get about 60-70 yards rushing in this one.
I am usually not a eeyore type of fan at all but I am for some reason in this one. I am hosting Christmas Eve this year so I will be making lots of Wisconsin Old Fashions and will have some Brandy slush read for everyone and not worry about it too much.

Will be there too. I have a daughter that lives in Charlotte so we've had this planned since the schedule came out. Unfortunately we got tickets when the schedule came out - could have gotten them now for about 10% of what we paid back then!

The Panthers will go on the longest drive in franchise history 13 minutes and 99 yards most of it on rushing plays and when GBs DBs give a 17 yard cushion.
One way I forecast the stock market is by investor sentiment. If I'm on reddit in r/investing and all the posts are "When will the market touch the moon" and "I'm going to retire at 24 and buy a Yacht" I know a correction is in order. If all the topics are negative, I know the market is on sale and it's a good time to buy a little extra that month.

Rough game. Obviously we want to win but every Carolina loss gets the Bears closer to drafting MH Jr.
15 points total for them the past two games. They are definitely putting up more than 15 this week.

the Panthers still not have a lead in the 4th quarter, but will win it on a walk-off FG. Joe B plays prevent in a tie game to make sure the Panthers don't get a walk-off TD.
I have some questions given that some are enthusiastically supporting Evero for GB's new DC, yet Carolina doesn't rank very well in several D categories. What is the average drive starting position for Carolina's opponents? Everything I've seen of their offense is bad, so if opponents have to drive only 50 yards for a score vs 80, that can be a big difference in a lot of categories. Also, how many plays do their opponents have compared to the offense? Defenses get tired, just like earlier this year we were all complaining about how long the D was on the field.
* GB loses on a hail mary when Barry sends the safeties out of the back of the end zone to protect against the long ball, the DBs are stationed at the goal line to prevent the short pass, and Barry calls a blitz which Young evades.

Barry is inexplicably still employed. The Panthers' OC is drooling in anticipation. This will be a dogfight when it shouldn't be. Chalk this one up as another loss for Beta Matt.

Third down conversion for Panthers should be 100% on third and 5 or less. The DB's will line up 10 yards back from the LOS and one of our best pass rushers will be covering a receiver. I only say that because it happens all the time, every game.

Because teams don't bother trying to pass against them. Their backfield is decent and their linebackers are fairly fast but not that big, so why risk passing?
I expect nothing less than a mess, in this game, unless the Packers decide to overcome their coaching and play for each other. They need to show some of that swagger they had when they beat KC and the Lions.
They either rally and dominate or they quit and lose to the worst team in the NFL. I don't see an in-between for this one.
Either way, it will be very telling pertaining to MLF's leadership in the locker room.
I don't know if I quite buy the "lost the locker room" yet. Such a young team, most have only been on the team for 1-3 years tops.
When I think of losing the locker room, I think of a coach that has been together with most of the players for a long time and they start to tune out. JMO.
But, what do I know, never been in the GBP locker room to know.

Pretty sure it's a lock Campbell won't play this week. Couple his decline in play since 2021 along with his current attitude, I really don't think it's a bad thing if he's out. Part of his bitterness may be that McDuffie has played better in his place multiple times this year.

The Packers will save nearly 3m if they move on from him in 24. Which seems likely.
His 2024 cap number currently sits at $14.3M, of which the Packers would save $2.7M if they move on without any post June treatment (with $11.6M dead).
