So Matt Schneidman was on The Game this morning and he talked with Jaire yesterday. Jaire let it be known he's got family and friends coming to the game as this is apparently the 1st time Alexander and the Packers are in Carolina in his hometown since his coming into the NFL.
Speculation is with all his family/friends in attendance, he's likely playing on Sunday.
If you lose the players, you're done as a coach. Barry has obviously lost a large portion of the players on defense. MLF keeps fucking around and letting Barry hang around, he will lose the entire locker room...and at that point, Gutey/WMM will have zero choice but to fire him.

On Monday, MLF had a "open forum" with defensive players only where they got to air their shit about the defense, assuming Barry, and what's been going on all year.
We have no idea what was said because MLF smartly didn't spill anything to the media but you can't help but think a lot of it is the positions they are being put in thanks to Dingle Barry and all the damn miscommunication also due to Barry.
I cannot imagine, short of winning the SB this year, any scenario where Barry is retained in 2024 and MLF knows that. So he's riding this out and I would imagine he let the veterans know like Ja, Gary, Clark, etc that changes are coming.
MLF has no other options and right now it's pretty much damage control at this point.
Letting the guy keep his job despite the glaring incompetence will do nothing to placate a player who feels his incompetence reflects on his skills as a football player.

I also like it that MLF does not share details about these types of meetings with fans or the media. IMHO this shows that MLF has NOT lost the locker room because he is willing to sit down with players and have conversations about what their concerns are. I also think it shows that MLF understands that unless he gets this defense fixed it could affect his long term future.

Exactly. If he did tell vets he was moving on after the season, why would the vets play the rest of this season and risk injury?
You cannot play a violent game like football half assed.
