@AdamSchefter: Saints safety Marcus Maye has been suspended without pay for the next three games for violating the NFL Policy on Substances of Abuse.

@gregauman:  Marcus Maye is a significant loss for Saints for next three games while suspended. Led team with seven tackles in Monday's win over the Panthers, including a sack, and had six tackles and an interception in opening win over Titans. Hasn't missed a defensive snap in two games.

Insert Watson video here.

We're screwed.   With Vilma doing color the Packers don't stand a chance.

LA is in the green zone. Normally one has to live in the Hudson WI area to be force fed a Vikings home game. One of my in-laws is from there and he grew up a Viking fan, numbskol still is.

Take note Joe. No, really, take notes!

Using the "Bear" front alignment (3 interior d-lineman and 2 edge rushers) should minimize runs inside the tackles. The problem is that when we used that front last week, the Falcons just ran off tackle right at Enagbare, who couldn't hold up.

Rereading Mike Lombardi's book "Gridiron Genius". Lombardi worked for Walsh, Al Davis, and Belichick. Great stories and insight on all 3. One section on defense really made me think about the Falcons game. He wrote about Belichick and how he defended the Colts. The two things they did the best were 1) Run James off tackle 2) Throw to Reggie Wayne. To combat it, Belichick moved his best run defender (Vince Wolfolk) outside over the tackle on the strong side. Next he put his top CB on the Colts #2 WR, and doubled Wayne. Colts had success running between the tackles, but Belichick reasoned that they would still try to do what they did best and run off tackle some. He also knew that Manning would still try to get the ball to Wayne. Lombardi writes that while some DC's do go into the game trying to take away the offenses strengths, they abandon it when the offense hurts them doing something else. Similar to what Belichick did as Giants DC vs. the Bills in the SB .... he convinced the defense that if Thurman Thomas got enough attempts to get 100 yards, they would win because it meant fewer passes for Kelly.

Granted, idk what the Falcons "did best" on tape ....although generally running the ball seems to be it, but more specifically , where did they like to run it? It appeared that the most success they had was off tackle. Numerous times he lined up Enagbare on the offenses strong side, and he got destroyed. On at least two occasions he had him and Wooden, who looks like the weakest interior guy vs. the run, next to each other vs. the Falcons best two run blockers. Barry seems too set on running his scheme, rather than deploying his personnel in a way to minimize the offenses strengths.

I still have high hopes for Watson but I could also see a scenario where Love starts targeting Wicks more and more. You can already see Love building chemistry with him.

The NFL waits for no one, I hope Watson doesn’t find this out the hard way

TBF, hammies can go south in a hurry. They can go from pulls to full tears requiring surgery in the snap of the fingers. I don't blame them for being overly cautious.
