Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (groin) will practice Wednesday, Oct. 28.

He's expected to return in Week 8 and that should give a boost to the Vikings up-and-down offense. For you fantasy GM's, Monitor Cook on Friday to see if he fully practices before the game against the Packers on Sunday.

The Packers are converting third-and-long situations (more than 6 yards) at a 42.9-percent clip, which is second-best in the NFL. This is an improvement after being 18th last season and 24th in 2018.

The offense converted third-and-9, third-and-10 and third-and-7 situations on Sunday in Houston. QB Aaron Rodgers is averaging 10.3 yards per attempt on third down, which leads the NFL.

Let's hope THAT continues!

Resting Jones undoubtedly the right move.

Its the right move for the team, no reason to rush players back if we can help it. If Jones misses out on an incentive because he was held out of a game he could have played then that's shitty. Same for Davante.

Kevin King is hurt wow what a shocker

Tough to pay him a starting caliber salary when you can't stay on the field. This goes back to his college days. On the plus side, unless there's an idiot owner who grossly overpays, the Packers could make him a pretty average offer in 2021 and he may have no choice but to accept it.

Time for ESB to put up.  Considering the dearth of WR options, it's a quality opportunity to potentially carve out a spot.  Just make the routine, move-the-stick plays - everything above and beyond is gravy.

So you’re saying keep the fragile flower because he’d be cheap? I’d rather have a player like A.J. Hawk—-always available 5 yards past the line of scrimmage.

Could be a big day for #17.

Looks like wind may be a factor with passing game on Sunday

Sun 01 | Day

38°
NW 25 mph

Decreasing cloudiness and windy. High 38F. Winds NW at 25 to 35 mph. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

Or what?  Pretty confident he won't get cut after the game regardless of whether he "puts up" or not.

MLF is so good, forcing the Vikings to gameplan for ESB!

I mean, sure the gameplan is laughing uncontrollably, but who knows, maybe they hyperventilate and pass out game time after seeing ESB starting!

In other words, time for the now annual disappearance of MVS from the WR rotation. Have a seat, son!

Nick was a mixed bag. He was better in run defense, but he wasn’t a big pass rush threat generally. King has actually improved, especially this year, and seems to be on a trajectory toward being a top CB.

Digger, I totally agree about King and I think he has been on his way to being an elite CB he is that talented.  But, he is only on the field what seems like 50% of the time and you can't pay big money gambling he will find a way to stay healthy.

Now just because I said that he will leave GB for a huge contract and suddenly become 100% healthy all the time and become a top 3 CB.

King is a pretty good CB, but the reality is until proven otherwise, you are likely only getting him for about 12-14 games per year. And of course, you want to do everything you can to be sure he's healthy for playoff and December football.

His availability has to play into his contract as well. I'm fine with the Packers extending him, but it has to be an incentive driven contract based on availability.  Otherwise, some idiot owner can overpay him for games he will not be there for.

Their best CB might just be the wind.

I am not an advocate for running up a score, but if this game turns to a 34-17 or a 35-10 type game or better entering the 4th Q, on a short week the Packers should love nothing more then to pull nearly all their key starters.

My guess is they stay cautious and hold him out.

I hate those predictions. Every time we think we are going to stomp a team, it turns into a nail-biter, and as usual, this is one of the two annual Superb Owls for the Vikings. Let's just win this, and I don't care how ugly the win is.
