It all rides on Rodgers.. No way the Falcons score more than 20 points against this Defense. (unless they get TO's for points or inside the 30)

Packers 27
Falcons 16

Going to need big games from Raji, Jenkins, Picket and Green. We wont be seeing nearly as much 2 DL nickel as we have the past couple weeks.
GB wins this game. I'm as confident as I've ever been. I look for Arod to light it up again inside the dome and Starks should be able to keep the defense honest. In Capers I trust.

I think GB wins this one going away.

Green Bay - 34
Atlanta - 21
It was mentioned on the Coaches show (Billick and Mora on NFLN) last night, that their no-huddle could cause us some problems. If they go no-huddle with Green, Pickett etc, out there, and we can't substitute our Nickel, or Big Okie, etc. Could be an issue. If we stay in our base with 5 DB's, possibility of Turner going off.

I think we win, should be a good tight game, but I think we put up 31 and hold them to 20.
They have a good coaching staff. It's going to be quite the chess match.

I don't see a blowout in either direction unless it turns into a turnover fest, and that isn't likely.

Well, I correctly predicted last week's game, so here's hoping that trend continues. I think the Falcons good but vanilla offense poses less of a threat than the explosive Eagle's, so I think they only score 14 on our stout defense. The Falcon's defense isn't all that great, and with more balance this time, we score 31.

Packers 31
Falcons 14

Oh, and Bears trounce the Seachickens, so we'll be heading to Chicago to beat down the overrated Bears in the NFC Championship.

Should be an entertaining game thread on Sunday should we fall behind 3-0.

You're going to miss the game!

I am more confident in this game than the Eagle game. I just don't think Atlanta is particularly good. They have only blown out 1 or 2 teams and have 2 or 3 miracle wins.

Packers 34
Falcons 20

No, I'm not.

I read them (game threads) after the fact.

IMO ATL is better than you think they are too, BTW.
Negative kind of guy here....sort of YA Tittle type negative but not nearly a Half Empty level.

Falcons 20 Packers 17...but I'm still really proud to be a Packer fan.(If they win I will be even prouder)

*edit* Fixed it..thanks

I call bullschyt.

You lost your prediction "rights" by whining like a stuck pig after every bad play in the game threads---except last week when you didn't show your sad face---thanks for making the game thread a little less miserable.

Peace.

Take PDX with you next time.
Coach, one of my co-workers, originally from Wisconsin, family now lives in Atlanta. Since there is a long weekend, he's going home Friday so I sent him the info about the rally. He said his plane doesn't get in until 9:00, but they would be stopping on the way home. He figured since it was Packer fans, things would still be going on.
There are no Mike Vick's or Desean Jackson's to defend in this game, and ATL aint Philly in terms of a homefield advantage.

Barring a complete disaster with turnovers and penalties I expect GB to roll in this game.

GB 31 ATL 17

Bring on Chicago
I think ATL is looked down upon because they're not dynamic.

  • They run the ball well.
  • They don't have stupid penalties.
  • They protect the ball.
  • Efficient but not spectacular passing game.
  • They play solid defense.
  • They're well coached.

The Packers will need to play their best game of the season to defeat this Atlanta team. They're the #1 seed for a reason while the Packers are the "sexy" pick.
Different game this time: fewer giveaways, better tackling. Pack goes up early on TD pass to Nelson, stymies Ryan with new blitz packages. Leads 17-7 at half. Turner struggles, White makes a few key catches, but a balanced, clock-killing Packer offense comes away with a 27-13 win. TWICE the D holds them to field goals in the red zone in the second half, frustrating the Falcons, who in two subsequent trips go for it on fourth down and are DENIED both times. Key turnovers: Woodson INT, Raji fumble recovery. Two sacks for Matthews, two for Bishop.

agree with above. Pack needs to do a outstanding job of tackling.

They bring a crapload of muscle/hardnose on both sides of the ball ... IMO we have to keep their rushing under 100 yds, otherwise playaction will be tough on Pack.

Pack has GOTTA stop the run, gotta. Bishop, Hawk and Collins gotta bring the wood, gotta.
Packers tie the game up at 17 late, and Matty Ice runs a kick back for a TD. 24-17 Falcons, and the announcers orgasm over how great Matty Ice is.

Matty Ice is also going to sack Rodgers twice and intercept him once.
