Supposedly these are the cleats Lynch will be wearing Sunday. $1,100 gold plated or some such thing. Per tmz.com. **** him.

The cleats were hand made by shoe-customizing guru Solesbysir

and feature 24K gold flake paint with a RIDICULOUS gold chrome

plate at the bottom ... final value $1,100 bucks...

We're told Beast Mode had originally planned to rock

the kicks on Super Sunday (confidence), but when he saw

the finished product, he had to have them for the big game

this Sunday.

Green Bay is giving up over 130 yards rushing between Lynch and Wilson in crappy weather. You can bank on that. And GB will still have a shot.

Here's why. Aaron Rodgers might very well be the best QB in the history of football. He's playing on 1 leg. Against a defense that tore Peyton Manning to shreds 11 months ago on a neutral field. I promise you Seattle knows Rodgers can beat them. They'll tell you they don't buy into his injury but that's a little fear talking.

A big difference between this weeks GB-Seattle game and the first week is that Sherrod is gone. In the first game of the Season Bakhtiari got hurt in the first half. Sherrod came in for the rest of the game and played terribly. Most of the problems the Packers had was from the Seattle DE continually running over Sherrod.  I had forgotten about that until I look at the recap of the game, all the bad things that happen to GB offence came form the right side.  In short Sherrod was not a NFL capable Tackle.

....I believe it was Bulaga that got hurt & Cliff Averil that came from that side for the sack / fumble & another sack vs. Sherrod. Another difference is that Brad Jones & AJ Hawk played alot of snaps that game. So hopefully that was our three  weakestest players in that game who will see no, or limited snaps on Sunday.

Championship Sunday. As many of you know, my favorite football day of the year. Normally has 2 great games & a lot less pomp & circumstance. It's football in its purest form. The refs generally let the teams play & we get to see the best football players on the planet at their very best.

Seattle, a tough bird to crack. They play extremely well at home & are difficult to beat due to 3 reasons.

  1. Excellent Defense
  2. Very good running game (including the QB)
  3. Great home field advantage

Cracking the code to beat the Seahawksโ€ฆ..is easy. Vince Lombardi once said it: You have to block & tackle better than they do.

Pete Carroll has taught the fundamentals of the game & his players execute them perfectly. The Seahawks block & tackle better than every team in the NFL. Thatโ€™s why they are the world champs. Yes, Bill Belichick, even better than your Patriots.

Green Bay needs to take a page out of the Vince Lombardi fundamental playbook & block & tackle as well as if not better than, the Seahawks do. Simple right? Easy to say, difficult to execute.

Keys to the game - Offense / Special Teams

  1. Turnovers
  2. RTFB
  3. Take what the defense gives you (Screens & Checkdowns will be open)
  4. Red Zone execution (Touchdowns not FG's)
  5. Field position (Special Teams)

Turnovers - This Seattle team FEASTS off turnovers & turns them into points. When you have a solid running game & great defense PLUS the other team is giving you a short field? Well that's a recipe for a world championship my friends. Cannot turn the ball over to Seattle or you lose, it's pretty simple.

RTFB - Holmgren told us how to beat the Seattle defense. Throw on first down & run when they rotate the speedy guys on the DL. This Seattle team can be run on but the play calling must be solid.

Take what the defense gives you - Checkdowns & screens to Lacy & Starks, Curl route by Cobb & Jet Sweeps. Throw in a couple throws to the TE & that will get those safeties creeping up in the box. Then you can hit a big play when the opportunity arises. This key is an extension of the running game.

Red Zone - Did pretty good last week vs. the Cowboys. Need to be even better this week vs. the Seahawks. The development of the TE will help immensely. Also, use Eddie Lacy more!

Special Teams - I hope Ginger is ready to punt because he'll need to be good. Field position will be huge especially if it's windy. I highly doubt we'll see a "no punt" game like we did twice this year.

On to the defensive keys

  1. Takeaways
  2. STOP the run
  3. Keep QB in pocket & collapse it (spy)
  4. D-Line get your hands up (Tipped balls)
  5. Cover the TE!

Takeaways - Let's give Seattle a taste of their own medicine & give us a short field & jump on them early. How about a fumble recovery deep in their territory or a pick 6 by Sam Shields to start the game.

STOP the run - Tantamount to Green Bay's success. They did a decent job of it vs. Murray last week, even though he had a good game. He had a couple longer runs late.

Keep QB in pocket & collapse it - If the Packers accomplish this feat they will achieve at least 1 INT. I'm certain of it. Wilson throws up at least 3-4 floaters a game. I see CM3 spying Wilson to stop the long runs.

D-Line - Get your hands up! Do your best JJ Watt impersonation even though we know none of you are that good.

Cover the TE - This is always a sticking point. Someone on D needs to account for him on every play.

All things being equal, I don't believe Seattle can beat Green Bay straight up, meaning 0 turnovers by either team.

This game will be a war. Very very close ball game. We'll be on a roller coaster for 3-4 hours. I hope you're ready for the ride. The team that wants it more will earn the victory. Believe me, whoever wins this game will have earned it.

Final score prediction? I normally don't do that but this is a special game. Initially I was thinking 31-30. However if the wind is at 25 MPH, it'll be lower. Much lower. 23-20

Oh....Am I supposed to pick the team too?

Mason Crosby with a 55yd FG with the wind as time expires vaulting the Packers to their 6th Super Bowl appearance!

Green Bay 23 Seattle 20

Good summary Boris!

If the conditions are poor the Seahawks are going to RTFB more than normal. The Packers D must be up to the challenge.  That means sealing the edge, staying in your lanes, and sure tackling.   If the Packers allow Seattle to hold the ball and control tempo like they did last week against Dallas they will not win.

I really expect a low scoring game and it could very well turn on a special teams play or critical turnover.

One of the reasons Schneider selected Rusty Wilson was his hand size and how it would help him in the Pacific NW.  Smaller guy , big mitts. He does well in inclement  weather.

If memory serves, RW has 10 1/4" mitts.  (Not that I'm a RW fan or have a hand fetish, but I recall reading when looking at cold weather stats vs QB hand size).

Edit: Found it in Al Gore's play-land

After selecting Wilson in the third round of the 2012 draft, John Schneider, Seattle's general manager, publicly mentioned hand size as a determining factor. Schneider said he first noticed Wilson's iron grip when Wilson was a senior at Wisconsin and Schneider trekked to a game against Penn State. Wisconsin won 45-7.

"A really nasty, cold, rainy day and he lit it up. It wasn't close," Schneider said ....

The fix is in!!! (Found on internet)

I have bad news for Seahawk fans.

A good friend of mine works at NFL.com and word around their office is that Roger is pushing for a Brady/Rodgers Super Bowl. Supposedly the fix is in, so it looks like the refs will be siding with Green Bay big time.

I hope the refs don't decide this game, but it doesn't look good right now.

Honestly, if the NFL could pick 2 of the final 4 teams to "generate" the most interest (and revenue), I think it's obviously Green Bay vs. New England.

Repeat champions are boring. Nobody watches baseball when it's the Yankme's & Red Sox every year.

I do think the Colts would generate interest & it would promote "King Luck" too.

I guess we'll find out if we're Roger's "darlings" this year

If the Packers play their brand of football, play smart, limit mistakes and minimize shooting their own selves in the foot, they will make it a game. So much of the media has looked back on the opener as the touchstone for this game. So many Packer fans have refuted things about that week 1 game.

I prefer to look back at the debacle of the Fail Mary game. Rodgers was sacked how many times in that first half? In the second half they came out and totally outplayed Seattle, beginning up front on both sides of the ball. This Seahawk team is better than that one. But I also believe MM and company can adopt a mindset of imposing their own will just as Seattle does with Lynch. I think if they keep it close into halftime, they are more than capable of executing a game plan that will end up with a win.

I think they need 2 big plays from defense/special teams, and no easy turnovers given away, and they can get this done. I'm not ready for this team to be finished yet.

NFLN just said gusts up to 60 mph... wow.

Last week MM said the only weather condition he concerns himself with was the wind.

Ugh!  THATS not good. Part of my prediction would have been based on the accurate long ball to Jordy. Now I expect Cobb to step up and with him and Adams make a good showing. Next its between Wilson to Willison and Rodgers to Rodgers.
