Might as well have a Lions suck thread since we have the other 2 teams in the division. I just don't have the same "hate" toward the Lions. I'm actually happy they're competitive for a change. However....Let's not forget who the KING of the division is.

Itโ€™s terrible where I live, when they sucked I didnโ€™t know fans existed here, now that theyโ€™ve strung a couple solid years together theyโ€™ve come out of the woodwork and are starting to get insufferable

Everybody loves a winner, and when a team starts playing well (30 years after they were last relevant), the bandwagon "lifelong" fans come out of the woodwork.
It's even worse in Detoilet, because everybody loves a macho Coach McTuffie and they all get to emulate him, so now they have tough fans!

FWIW, Minny and Detoilet are two peas in a pod. The only thing that makes the Loins better is they don't crown themselves World Champions every preseason, and they don't have a irritating, abrasive horn they blast during games.
Otherwise...

Since he spent time in De-Toilet

Anyone check his bank balance? This has to be money driven because otherwise his ego wouldn't let him sign this. Oh, how the mighty have fallen...

I have been to Ford Field probably five times to see a Packers game.  The fans always treated us well because they hadn't won anything yet.  I haven't been there in a few years since the Lions got to be actually good and I may go this year.

I have never hated them because they have been a long time rival but never a real threat.

I thing about them I cannot stand is their coach.  Coach mouth breathing meathead reminds me of a drunk uncle from Sheboygan who smells like Skole, marlboro reds, and has a 30 pack of Natty Light in the back seat of his Nova.

It's a sad story, but couldn't happen to a more deserving POS.
When someone is so ignorant that they blow through umpteen million dollars, and still has to pay tons of support to his many baby mamas, I find it impossible to have any compassion. Especially for a child-beater!

10 years from now he will be in the exact same boat.

ygbsm. This says it all about QB contracts in todayโ€™s NFL

@AdamSchefter: Another done deal in Detroit: Lions are signing QB Jared Goff to a four-year, $212 million contract extension that includes $170 million guaranteed, sources tell ESPN.

Goff now goes from former No. 1 overall pick to highest-paid Lion in franchise history.

Highest paid QBs in the NFL on a per-year basis:

๐ŸˆJoe Burrow: $55M
๐ŸˆJared Goff: $53M
๐ŸˆJustin Herbert: $52.5M
๐ŸˆLamar Jackson: $52M
๐ŸˆJalen Hurts: $51M

Yup, itโ€™s hard to hate the Kitties.

Maybe in the past when they were dealing with their annual inferiority complex, but definitely not true anymore.  The fans here have had decades of pent-up hatred towards the rest of the NFC North (especially the Packers) that they are all too happy to vocalize now.  I don't blame them - I would be insufferable too - but I don't like it in my face and will be very happy when they go back to their losing ways.

NFL QB is a good job if you can get it.

Starting NFL QB is a very lucrative job, but it comes with a lot of pressure to perform and you still take some hard hits.

In terms of the ratio of pay to expectations, the best job in the NFL is that of a veteran back-up QB. You can often go years without playing extensively, and the expectations are low when you have to come in.

Many of these guys make big money on their first contract and flame out, but are just good enough to hang around and collect a paycheck for holding a clipboard and acting as a deputy QB coach.

Chase Daniel is the best example of that in that he never was a true starter (made 5 starts in 13 years) and he still made 41 million in his career.

But the guys like Trubisky, Mariota, etc. hang around make 3-5 million a year for years.

Not Sheboygan but allegedly there could be one from Manitowoc county.

I had two uncles a bit like that, although they were driving those 70s cars in the 80s.  One was a heavy smoker and died of a massive heart attack in his late 60s, while the other was probably an alcoholic yet surprisingly outlived my mom by eight months or so, since Mom was a surprise baby -- the youngest in the family by six years.

I actually think Goff is a very underrated QB. But that assumes he's being rates in the 12-15 range and he probably should be more like 8-10. He should as h*ll isn't top 2.

He's basically another version of Kirk Cousins. When you look back at his statistics in 20 years, people who didn't see him play will wonder why he isn't a Hall of Famer. He's good enough to not be the reason you lose, but not good enough to be the reason you win when you get deeper into the playoffs.
