More on the Goff contract here from OTC - sounds like many around the league are a little surprised at the largesse bestowed upon Jared

"Overall, this is an amazingly strong deal for Goff. I’m not sure if many around the league see him as more than a system QB type and I am not sure many expected him to see this kind of salary"

"Goff’s new contract will place him second in the NFL in average per year at $53 million, behind only Joe Burrow who signed a five year contract worth $55 million per year last summer. Goff set a new NFL record for signing bonus money at $73 million, $500,000 more than what Lamar Jackson received last season."

As soon as I saw Goff's deal....the Packers got em now. Goff played about as well as he can play last season. He isn't doing that again in 2024. All the pundits anointing the Lions as the defacto division winner are going to be surprised at what happens this year.

I'll bet the Bears win the division before the Lions win another division title. Let's see what happens now that Goff is on easy street.

Didn't the Lions also pay huge money to one of the lineman and defensive player as well?  That bill will come due one day as it will with other players wanting to get paid such as Hutchison.  It will also be really interesting to see how the Lions handle being the hunted and not the hunter.

Wow Bvan: You are indeed a senior member here-  I thought I was old because I could remember the Colts announcer calling the 58 Packers hapless and not being old enough to know hat it meant.  Made me a lifelong Packer Fan anyway!

This sucks. The world we live in…

Lions coach Dan Campbell is selling his suburban Detroit home to get more privacy after his address was reportedly leaked to the public.

Detroit’s Fox 2 reported that once Campbell’s address became known he was harassed and became the victim of pranks. Fox 2 said Campbell filed a police report over the harassment after the Lions lost to the San Francisco 49ers in January’s NFC title game.

“There’s plenty of space, it’s on two acres, the home is beautiful,” Campbell told Crain’s Detroit Business. “It’s just that people figured out where we lived when we lost.”

The Bloomfield Township Police Department didn’t name Campbell specifically but issued a statement saying it “is committed to the safety of all of our residents. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. We hope that everyone, including fans, will respect the privacy of individuals and their families.”

Campbell and his wife, Holly, listed the 7,800-square-foot house in Bloomfield Hills, a northern suburb of Detroit, for $4.5m this week. A deal was pending within 24 hours, Crain’s reported.

Campbell was hired by the Lions in 2021. After a 3-13-1 record that season, the team has become one of the best in the NFL, reaching the NFC championship game last January.

Campbell’s home was built in 2013 for Igor Larionov, a Hockey Hall of Fame member who played for the Detroit Red Wings. The likely buyers are “huge” Lions fans, said Ashley Crain, who is representing Campbell and the buyers in the sale.

My God, that's even worse. I lost my avatar this past Memorial weekend and I have yet to recover. I feel terrible for Tony. I can barely type this still. WTF is wrong with people?

@RapSheet:  Sources: #Lions Pro Bowl and All-Pro center Frank Ragnow suffered a partially torn pec, making him week-to-week. A brutal reality for one of the NFL’s toughest players, who injured it very early in the game. But the belief is it’s not season-ending and he could be back soon.
