Maybe Jennings reups at the same as the last 3 yr contract to stay with his buds.Nelson and Jones signed team friendly deals or maybe our WR's are not as good as we think. It seemed at times the WR's didnt get much seperation.
It would be huge if Ross turns out to a NFL WR. He seems big and fast someone who could be a game changer. GB has been sorley lacking at a HR RB since Grant got hurt years ago. Having Cobb and Ross as weapons would be nice and Ross probably can muscle up to most DB's for red zone passes.
I think we will see a totaly different WR corp without Jennings and Driver wow kinda like Cliffy and Tauscher for a good five years.
Hope and Change coming to GB soon.
At least one new RB that has speed and can move the hips to take those little dump offs to the house.

Packer Report just now stated EDS is restricted:

THIS website is almost always pretty accurate about player contracts. Who knows though, someone is guessing about his status.
It's only a guess if you don't know the rules. He's restricted. A player needs four or more accrued seasons to be an unrestricted free agent. EDS only has three. He wasn't on a roster for enough regular season games in 2010 to get credit for an accrued season.
I know the rules, thanks. Just a mix up with conflicting information. No need to be a dick.

If you knew the rules, there would've been no confusion. A dick? Geez, just trying to be helpful.
I am for the Packers drafting two interior offensive linemen and one inside LB for the first three selections.
I suppose another interior LB or a DL in the fourth.
I am guessing that post-injury, the offensive tackle situation is OK.
And I am sick and tired of Rodgers either leading the league or close to leading the league in number of sacks. Some of the games were dreadful from that perspective.

You weren't trying to be helpful, you were trying to be a dick and now you're being passive aggressive. Great contribution to the thread, thank you.

73 underclassmen in the draft this year. I would think this draft will be deep for draft and develop teams. The Packers should get a couple of 4th or 5th round comp picks for Wells and Flynn, (it does not matter that they did not play, it is how much they signed for that drives what comp picks are awarded) I do not think that any non-street free agents made the Packers final roster, so they should get about 3 comp picks. A 7th for Lee, he did make the Raiders opening day team.

turnip blood, agree on Flynn, Wells and Lee, but believe our signing Saturday also is part of the equation (but not Hargrove, Muir or Merling).
Speaking of Flynn, some speculation out there with the performance of Russell Favre and the cap hit to Matt Flynn in 2013, it's not entirely out of the question that Seattle releases him.
How ironic would it be to get a comp pick for Flynn, the re-sign him the same year to be Aaron's back up again?

You're welcome, and no, thank you.
I love it when you two fight you catty bitches.

Oh yea I forgot about Saturday. I wonder if Grant counts, did sign with someone for a week or so?
This team has too many needs to rely on just draft picks if they'd like to improve significantly this offseason.
The offensive line is just that: offensive. There's a reason they can't run the ball. Not so sure Sherrod is the answer at LT (Newhouse definitely isn't). Bulaga and Sitton I like. EDS, I thought, looked great but that could be due to how horrible Saturday looked. Lang apparently is not a good run blocker.
On defense they need an inside linebacker and a 'Nick Collins' type safety.
If they acquire offensive linemen who can run block then losing Jennings won't be as big of a deal.
Other than that, I like the personnel and am looking forward to the return of the injured starters.

How would you describe a 'Nick Collins' type safety?
You know, one that's like real good at stuff.

Anybody who thinks they've figured out Ted Thompson's draft selection process needs their head examined.

I thought we already had an injury prone RB in Starks.

Injured in 2010. Injured in 2011. 417 yds in 2012. Perfect.
You mean "perfect fit".

When he's healthy though he's very good. He's a value in the mid-rounds IMO.
Alright. A running back named Christine. To make a boy named Suh look silly. I like it.

That's the catch 22 with OL. They typically excel at either pass blocking OR run blocking but rarely both. People keep screaming for "road grader" tough and ugly OL, I assume for run blocking. But it is next to impossible to find OL who would be just as good at keeping AR clean.
... to the Packers for a salary Tagged Jennings, #3 pick, Crosby, Hawk and an autographed "Holmgren Way" street sign.

I was kind of being silly there. Point is he left a gaping hole in the secondary because he was so darn good. He's going to be hard to replace.

Agree Jones played well, but can he replace Hawk? Is Bishop/Jones an upgrade from Bishop/Hawk? I tend to think yes.
No. Jones sucks.
Are you being silly again?
I know DJ Smith didn't exactly set the world on fire in his brief stint this year, but I'd like to see how he would do lined up next to Bishop.

I do also. Jones is light and obviously has a lot of work to do in transitioning inside, but he may have enough speed to help cover for Bishop's deficiency in that area. A further upgrade would be nice but if they upgrade other areas that may be a decent way to man the position.

Ha, not this time. I really don't think Jones is an upgrade from Hawk. IMO they're both useless as starters. As depth? Sure. But I'd rather see D.J. Williams or somebody not yet on the team next to Bishop in 2013.
