It didn't even look like it went off Sterling's arm.

No it didn't. Bad call by a really crappy ref.
Real simple formula for Spurs going forward to maintain greatness...spend the money to keep Kane, Alli and Dier or see them leave like Bale and Modric. People are ballwashing LC...but Spurs have brought up some crazy talent through their dev system.
No way Spurs keep Kane or Alli. I see them sticking around for two years, TOPS. Man U already have such a hard-on for Kane that they will blow their wad to sign him, and if Alli continues to develop, there is no way that the owner, Joe Lewis and the chairman, Dan Levy won't try to cash in on him.
Reality of life at Spurs. We have a billionaire owner who spends most of his time in the Bahamas. He is not willing to lose money to win. Not like City and Chelsea.
I do think Dier is the biggest reason we can suddenly play defense at White Hart Lane. So weird to see Spurs shutting teams down. I hope we keep him for a long time.
One thing that pisses me off about MCFC is that since the Monsour acquisition, they have de-emphasized the developmental system...not intentionally but I think when your owner has the deepest pockets in the soccer world, that is a danger...oh screw it...we don't need to beat the bushes...we will just buy the best players possible!
Well, much like FA in the NFL...that rarely works. You need a combo of both, especially in the PL. Right now there's about 4-5 dev kids I keep an eye on...one of them, Ihenacho, is actually with the senior squad...everyone else is on loan.
I also think when you go buy players, you play them, sometimes to the detriment of the squad...Wilfried Bony is the perfect example..."we paid 25M pounds for him Dec 2014, we're gonna keep playing him!"
The next 5-6 months are going to be epic entertainment for people outside of City's fanship. The enjoyment you are going to get watching overreactions, both positive and negative, is going to be priceless.
Forthcoming...people bitching about Guardiola ditching players that don't fit his system...people bitching City didn't get (insert ridiculous name here, Messi, Neymar, etc)...people thinking the signing of (insert ridiculous name here) will ensure a Champions League/Prem/FAC title (treble here we come!). Really, I miss the days when MCFC were in the same class as the Spurs/Leicester squads...now it seems like we've ascended the ManUre, Arsenhole (New England Patriots?) level of douchery in our expectations.
But still not up to Chelsea douchery.
It is true. Look at the most impressive squads put together. All include impressive homegrown talent. When Manchester United ruled in the 90's they did so with homegrown talent. The current Barcelona team...
Spring of piss for me...City getting corned by MoLeicester AND Spurs...now Sunday we face Chelski in the 5th round of the FA Cup likely short-handed, then 3 short days later we get to play in Kiev for the Champions Cup, likely in freezing rain. Originally it was supposed to be in front of no one, which in and of itself is weird, but then UEFA decides only a couple weeks out to remove the 3 match fan ban (even though it was much deserved for racist behavior from their fans)...ensuring there will be zero MCFC supporters there, and likely sold out 70,000+ Dynamo supporters.
July 1 cannot get here fast enough.
If Guardiola can't win a CL for Bayern and their loaded lineup, what's he gonna do for Man City?
LOL, hopefully that was not a serious question, Fedya.
This isn't about winning Europe, it's about performing to expectations...something City has done twice under combined Pellegrini and Mancini tenures...and the years they didn't win the prem, they weren't even that close...and given the amount of talent they have spend money on, to get blown out by traditionally middling teams is unacceptable.
My hope is Pep gets them to play to their potential...and if he wins Europe, that's just gravy.
Financial fair play rules will prevent him from bringing in 10 guys...but he can add 2-3 key guys, and 2-3 young dev guys and City will be better than they ever were under MP.
No, it wasn't quite serious, Goalline. A bit of a subtle joke that perhaps Man City's players aren't as good as Packfoo would like to think they are.
Of course, once you get to the later stages of the CL it can be a crapshoot (damn you Arjen Robben for missing that penalty in extra time!) and Guardiola had the bad luck of drawing the eventual champions in the semis in each of the past two seasons.
I'm not the only one that thinks that Fed...take it up with Marcotti, Burnley, Cheeseman, Hislop and list of other people far more knowledgeable on the subject than I.
If they are losing the same way with Pep next year, I will admit I'm rong.
Big week for City...after fielding basically a youth squad vs. Chelsea in the FA Cup, they will be at full strength at Dynamo Kyiv, and for the Capital One Cup Final vs. Liverpool on Sunday.
Not that any of this matters since Count Chocula is gone July 1 anyway.
Harry Kane out for a bit...broke his nose, needed surgery. Would guess he'll be back as soon as he can wear a mask.
Wow, what the hell happened? Big game against Fiorentina this week too.
Yes Fedya, I know you are a Champions League whore.
Elbow in the schnozz vs. CP...he'll be back soon though...
I'm really starting to hate Palace. Actually, there are way too many London teams in the EPL. That is actually one of the reasons London teams don't win the title more often(mostly Arsenal and Chelsea). All those smaller London clubs treating these games like their freaking Super Bowl.
Spurs get it both ways. The little clubs fight them like mad, and the bigger clubs just want to pound the crap out of a rival.

I'm sorry your team isn't good enough to be a mainstay in the Champions League.
(No, I'm not *really* sorry.)
I'm even wearing my Bayern MΓΌnchen cap right now.
Nice win by City today.

Me neither.
You're just happy every year your team staves off relegation.
Yup . You will never get how the other side lives.
That sounds like a Blair Kielism
I slum with Goalline to find how the other half lives.
How did Sterling miss that goal?
Dammit City. Should have been up 2 nil.
Wow, these goals City have been missing.
What a performance by the GK during PKs. Well done, City.
yeah tell me about it! Willy had the performance of his life on PK...actually the late goal he gave up to tie it wasn't his fault. Pelleweenie should have subbed in guys...they were gassed.
Sterling was way too amped up for that match...he blew two opportunities.
Gotta admit...as excited as I am about Pep coming in, I am going to miss some of these guys who have been at City for a while. As much as Yaya Toure annoys me with his uninspired play (although he played his ass off Sunday)...there is something about having an enforcer of his size on the squad. Silly Little Lallana...Yaya makes $hits bigger than you!
Also, great comeback by Spurs to beat Swansea! I get the feeling they are going to overtake LCFC and win the Prem.
MoLeicester luck is running out...win on Saturday and Spurs are TOT
Best I've seen Yaya play in quite some time, on Sunday. Suddenly, that speed and power tied up in a skill package few can match, it was all back. Amazing talent for such a big dude.
In fact, Spurs go top if they beat West Ham tomorrow. West Ham view Spurs as their biggest rivals. They can't wait to play spoilers in this one. **** West Ham. **** Arsenal. I hope we throttle both teams.

This one time at Milwaukee Riverside in 1977 this one goalie saved 3 of 5 PK's vs Milwaukee South to win the state tournament.
Friend of mine.....
...be honest.
That picture never gets old.
I can think of another one I like more.
Another day for City, another humiliation...I cannot wait for that clown Pelleweenie to go and take his bull$hit system with him.
On the bright side, Arsenal and Tottenham lost.
And you can even laugh at me since Bayern lost. At home.
Now do you see why I'm worried about the CL?
