Seems pretty weak to get that upset about Gard taking a TO late in the game. Was he mad about Davison elbowing one of his guys, or getting blown out?

No matter what happened between Gard and Howard, there is no excuse for Howard hitting/slapping Krabbenhoft. Typical "tough guy" stuff too - throwing a punch at a guy with 3 other people between you.
He threatened to kill Mark Turgeon last year and charged at him. Gard grabbed his arm to talk to him, Howard grabbed Gard by his shirt, and then it deescalated between the two of them. Then for some reason Howard decided to punch Krabbenhoft.
If you look at Twitter right now, a majority of black media members are defending him claiming that Gard invaded his personal space. Howard will probably survive this because he can recruit 5-star guys but also because the racial part of "having to defend himself from a white man trying to intimidate him by grabbing his forearm" will get played up. It already is. Never mind that Howard is eight inches taller than Gard. If the roles were reversed, Gard wouldn't even make it out of the locker room tonight without being fired.
