TOUCHDOWN! Who else but King Carlos Hyde he takes a short ball from his Quarterback Kaepernick and the seas of Babylon opened up because all the blocking men did their job and a top runner like Carlos was always going to run through that sort of hole. Touchdown, 49ers. Fabulous Phil Dawson knocks over the extra digit and it’s Niners 17 leading Vikings 3.

(From the Guardian site)

Via the Guardian blog:

Niners ball. Ball loose. What? Kaepernick dropped the hut-hut ball, I think. Glanced away. So fast is this game. 2nd and ten, now..Give it to Carlos? Why not. He’s like John Riggins, another name from olden times. There’s Adrian Peterson on the big screen, a fine and shiny bald head, watching on as Carlos Hyde goes nearly all the way.

Niners kick off. The ball goes dead in the end zone. And the Vikings have to score a lot of points in not very much time. Teddy Bridgewater getting some instruction - Throw a touchdown pass, you fool! - and they’re first and 10 on the 20. He throws to No.12, a huge man looks not unlike Flash Gordon in the hit film from 1980, Flash Gordon. First down. Complete, to Kyle Rudolph, another big yin who wouldn’t be laughed out a Flash Gordon lookalike convention, if they have such a thing, you’d suggest they do.

MichiganPacker,
We do have better QBs in Tolzien and Hundley. It has been about 10 years. Maybe it is time the NFL recognizes the work/magic McCarthy is able to work with QBs.

Talents vary widely there. Tolzien took a solid 2 years to develop, and he looks good. Hundley, what a talent. Ted stole him. He will develop into a very special player.

I wouldn't be surprised to see both players have better careers than Bridgewater.

good thing they re-did his contract to make him happy.

and as for Harrell and Coleman, MM can only work with what Ted gives him.

It would interesting to hear MM (perhaps after he's done coaching and can talk more freely) discuss why he was able to get guys like Flynn and Aaron Brooks (when he was OC in New Orleans) to function as competent NFL QBs, but couldn't get that from guys like Harrell, Brohm, Vince Young, and Coleman. It's not like Flynn was a better athlete or had a stronger arm than some of those guys and Flynn couldn't do anything outside of GB.
