It's not like Flynn was a better athlete or had a stronger arm than some of those guys and Flynn couldn't do anything outside of GB.

The difference in QB IQ is my guess. Not purely intelligence, but seeing the whole field and knowing what is happening. Too many QBs come into the NFL with a severe case of myopia.

good thing they re-did his contract to make him happy.

and as for Harrell and Coleman, MM can only work with what Ted gives him.

Aaron Brooks was all Mikes as well because the year we drafted him McCarthy was the QB coach but yeah to sit here and say he's a guru is ridiculous because other than Flynn any QB that he tried to develop after round three never really panned out like they did for Holmy plus I still view Brohm as an epic failure

It is not at all ridiculous when you consider what Flynn was, and how he was able to contribute, what Tolzien was, and what he has been able to contribute, and what Hundley was, and what he has been able to contribute.

So, the ridiculous comes as a result of Vince Young? Graham Harrell? Brian Brohm?

I guess it is a small sample size, but I lean more towards what he has gotten out of two subpar players in Flynn and Tolzien, and a rookie in Hundley, not to mention, grooming the best QB in all the NFL.

The ridiculous comes from calling him and guru and only mustering two starting caliber QB's and I don't put Flynn in that category, sorry

Little harsh there, don't ya think?

Brohm wasn't the #1 overall selection. He was a late 2nd rounder & it didn't work out. Fail? Yes....EPIC fail??! Ummmmm no.

MM is a better QB coach than probably anyone in the league right now. I think someday, Peyton Manning might be a real good QB coach, if he chooses to go that route

Shocker, Bradford was an average to below average QB last night, just like he has been for his entire career (when he can actually get on the field).  Reason #298,453 why no conclusions should be reached in the preseason.  He was proclaimed to be "perfect" after the Packers preseason game yet when he plays a regular season game against one of the worst defenses in the league in 2014, he's awful.

I think the Eagles finish with a losing record this year.  They just gave away too much talent this offseason.

I find that to be a funny way of looking at it. Rodgers is practically an iron man at QB. Since being named starter in 2008 he has missed a total of 8 games, in 7 seasons. In 104 games started he is 71-33. How many starting calibre QBs do you expect McCarthy to produce with Aaron Rodgers playing like this?

Some other GMs put Flynn in that category to the tune of $11M. We've yet to see what happens with Tolzien and Hundley, but I like what he has done with them.

I think it worth pointing out the affect the salary cap has had on rosters in the last 5-10 years or so.

It's more critical than ever for the ultra-low salaries to balance the ultra-high ones, and one position the Packers do just that is QB. Thus, lower-round picks in the draft, if any are spent on QB.

They 'offset' that somewhat by excellent scouting, taking advantage of any opportunities presented during the draft and/or UDFA acquisition.
