Allison > Cobb at this point?  Maybe not when we go school yard, but his frame is a huge plus.

17 points when game was in play.   Didn't see that coming.

Ripper the other Swiss Army knife.

Dilrod with his first broken tackle of the season.  You go girl!

Hyde might be our best option outside with Gunt on the other side.   Bring Burnett into the slot and play the kids at S.

We are in.. So you're telling me there's a chance?!?!!!

Plus:

Rodgers, Montgomery, O-line, Gutty effort by safeties, especially Burnett, NFC North Champs

Negative:

WTF did MM hand the ball off in final two minutes? Just kneel…clock would have ran out! Spriggs took a nasty hit to side of head and now may be lost for playoff game, which means Barclay is first off bench when Bulaga gets banged up. Plus gave Lions chance for onside kick. Really dumb move there.

+ Tonight's game thread

+ 2016 NFCN CHAMPS

+ Aaron "The prophet" Rodgers  #ranthetable   The dude has been unstoppable since the prophecy, I will never doubt him again.

+ 8th post season in a row = I LOVE BEING SPOILED

+ 2017 is starting out pretty damn well

+ The entire 2016 Packers Team - from here on out, it's all bonus football.  I don't expect to win next week but it's going to be fun looking forward to it, lots of fun reading posts and watching videos and listening to podcasts about it.  It's always in the journey, the anticipation and hope of winning.  Win or Lose I'm proud of this years team.  I can't wait!

+ Timesfour.com - Thanks for another awesome year of Packers Forum Football everyone!  I experienced my first group piss party tonight, never dull here!

+Entire offense after the first quarter

+Rodgers: Damn he looked good tonight.  Only thing not working was the deep pass on the sideline.  Looks as mobile as ever, so assuming the calf isn't an issue.

+Rip: No idea he could ran like that.  Monty, Michael and Rip might actually be a better RB trio than Eddie (with that extra 15 pounds), Starks and Crockett.  Go figure.

+Allison: He's really coming on.  If he can keep this going on the outside, MM has some options with Nelson in the slot.

-Shanked punt leading to hail mary: I mean come on, can't we just end the game without having to recover an onside kick?  Not sure I can take another Seattle NFCC.

-CBs: I know injuries are an issue but they were terrible before Rollins and Randall got hurt.  Really hope they can shore this up in the playoffs.

+++

AR and all our receivers. Deadly combo.

RIP. Runs like a snowplow and just as difficult to stop.

OL. Insane 9 seconds to throw!

Hyde. Nice one-arm catch, but a horrible throw by Stafford.

MM found his creativity in the second half with Monty in backfield and a new formation.

DL. Shut down runs but...

---

DL. Need more pressure.

Injuries. Duct tape secondary.

Another division title never gets old!

Not exactly.  I was thinking the same thing but with Detroit's one timeout, the Packers were going to have to punt if they didn't get a first down.  Yes, MM could have taken the knee and then punted but no coach would do that.  You don't kneel if you can't end the game.

1:30 Kneel

1:28 Detroit TO

1:26 Kneel complete

:47 GB TO with one on play clock

:45 Kneel complete

:06 GB TO with one on play clock

Either punt up 14 with 6 seconds left or run around for 6 seconds then go down

That all assumes GB takes minimum amount of time for kneel down and play clock starts right away after kneel down. You go back an extra yard on each play, I think game ends without even having fourth down play.

It could have easily been done. And yes, you can kneel if you don't end game - GB did exactly that after the first down play.

Ah well you have me there RR, I didn't think about running around for 6 seconds on 4th down.  I personally wouldn't do that, having my hall of fame QB run around in the backfield just to kill time.  Injury risk would seem high.  But I see your point.

AR wouldn't have to run around. Again, six seconds is the most possible time left on 4th down, but there's a decent chance it's more like three seconds. Snap to Schum and have him run to the sideline. Would probably help his net punting average.

Heading into the playoffs in January, this to me is the biggest positive of this game. I've been wanting more touches for him.

The running game for the playoffs seems ideal right now, an amazing achievement considering everything. Hats off to MM for putting it together. Very, very impressive.

Interesting to see the confidence and chemistry that is developing between AR and Geronimo in such a short period of time. Obviously the kid is a baller and understands where he's supposed to be and what he's supposed to be doing. How many times have we seen AR hesitant to throw to guys who even after being on the team for a couple of years didn't have this kind of trust from him yet. He has really good hands and  seems to grab anything within his catch radius. Looking forward to watching him develop even further over the next couple of years. I think Ted found a real gem with this young man.

The master of understatement, quoted by McGinn:

β€œIt was a good football game,” said Thompson. β€œWe played some good ball. So did Detroit. It’s always a tough game against them and everybody else in our division.”

Asked about the Packers’ chances to do damage in the postseason, Thompson replied, β€œI feel fine.”
