He'd be the next logical choice of coaches currently on staff. Clearly, the guy can coach.
Sherman was a really good OL coach, Philbin too.
LaFluer +175 is now the odds on favorite for NFL COTY.
Reich +300 follows him.

In Aaron Rodgers last year with McCarthy, 20.9% of his dropbacks resulted in either a sack, scramble, or throwaway - the highest figure of his career
β Mike Renner (@PFF_Mike) January 3, 2022
This year, that number is 12.8% - the lowest figure of his career
While missing 4 out of 5 starters on the line.
Getting the ball out on time and in rhythm has always been the key. With MM and his school yard bullshit, Rodgers developed some bad habits. It took MLF less than a year to coach that out of him and the results have been off the chart stats and three 13 win seasons.
Little nugget that got overlooked last night after the game:
β Peter Bukowski (@Peter_Bukowski) January 3, 2022
Davante Adams said they stressed closing teams out. Said he and LaFleur talked about it "almost ad nauseam," and added that this more aggressive mentality is "the new Packer way."
For the "Well he has Rodgers" crew on Matt LaFleur, so what?
β Peter Bukowski (@Peter_Bukowski) January 3, 2022
No one has EVER done what he's done through 3 seasons. Not Seifert with Young. Not Dungy with Manning. Not Belichick with Brady. Not Reid with Mahomes.
Aikman, Favre, Brees, name a QB. They never won like THIS.
LaFleur and Co are kicking ass on offense and the trend is still pointed upward
One of the things I like to look at is the ratio of 1st downs to 3rd downs. When the offense is humming, they don't need no stinking 3rd downs.
GB is ranked # 7 in number of 1st downs / game and # 4 over the last 3
https://www.teamrankings.com/n...first-downs-per-game
GB is ranked # 29 in number 3rd downs / game
https://www.teamrankings.com/n...third-downs-per-game
So they're averaging (22) 1st downs/ game and only (11) 3rd downs/game
That's MLF really coming into his own as a play caller and a QB running his system at high efficiency.

Impressive.... but what haunts me is the fact that those 5 (minus Bak in second game) got their asses handed to them twice vs. TB's front last season & as of right now TB has the same guys playing. After marveling at how well the o-line played last year I was shocked at how badly they were beaten in one-on-ones in those games .... bad game, bad match-ups, bad plan..? I do know that AR said they learned that especially early in the game they need to give the tackles more help, still gives me reason to pause.
They've certainly had MLF's number so far. He needs to figure that out. There may also be hope in that TB's secondary is beat up so there may be more opportunities vs their pass rush.
TB was beaten by the Jets except for a colossal fuck up by the jets coaches.
I realize that.... but they have the same offensive and defensive lines that we lost vs. last season .... I think we have an advantage in every other area (maybe with the exception of ILBer), but if you get beat up front on both sides of the ball you rarely win... even at home....even when winning the turnover battle, so either; 1) We don't play the Bucs ... but if we do 2) individuals are going to have to play better 3) blocking scheme / play calling / plays used / defensive calls / scheme are different.... if we want a different outcome.
I agree--we need to play better. Not having King out there would be the first step to achieving that.
Definitely learned last year that the top seed doesn't guarantee anything.

It does give me pause, but one thing about the guys playing now is that they are scrappers. They prefer to go after the DL, even if they are not as talanted as the regulars, and I think that makes them as good as they are as a unit. They are not afraid of getting dirty and they give maximum effort. I think they take after Patrick, who is just a mauler. Look what Patrick did to Aaron Donald all game long and to Anthony Barr last week on the one block. Playing center has allowed him to become the leader of that group,
I'm not as concerned about the oline this time around as I am the Dline. Huge drop off as of late. It's what I've been fearing since last year.
I know it won't happen but I really wish Googly would look for any kind of interior help before the playoffs.
Concern, pause, worry........
Just kick back and watch a the game.
Yup, two weeks to not have to be nervous.

Well, a little bit Sunday until they get all the important guys out of the game.
Wash your hands, wash your butt. If you're scared, go to church.

I think they should play Kevin King the entire game. Maybe on offense too.
Punt returner!!!
Can a guy announce his retirement at the age of 22?

Speaking of DB's at WR, I wonder if anything will come from Jaire's reps at WR in practice recently? I mean, I understand what they were doing with him but what if they found something that they decide to spring later in the playoffs or even in the SB?
He wasn't getting reps with our offense...he was playing offense on the scout team. I'm not thinking we will see him on offense.
Donβt really see what βtrickiness β Jaire would add as far as confusing the defense or catching them off guard. The defense would most likely treat him as a short, fast WR. Nothing tricky about that.
Jaire Alexander 4.38 40 time (same as MVS)
Eric Stokes 4.25
If you wanted to throw a guy out there to run a go route, you'd pick Stokes over Alexander anyway.
Except neither can catch the ball. π

Well, trickiness is your word, not mine.
But if I were going to label it something it would be an "unscouted look".

Thanks for clearing that up.
.....on the scout team ...young assistant coaches have been known to take snaps on the scout team, it doesn't mean we are going see them play in games.
Originally mentioned I understood what they were doing with him in practice but, again, thanks for clearing that up.
