Sticking a needle in your ass does make you faster, stronger, or make you ripped. These guys still have to bust their asses in the gym to get the results. These PEDs are simply something to make your workouts more productive.

This is just straight up ig'nant.

A protein shake makes your workouts more productive.  This cheats time and effort 1000 percent.

My best friend gets a steroid shot every Friday. About half an hour before she gets a liter bag of poison. Back at the beginning she just did the chemo. She wouldn't be alive without the steroids. Not because of its effect on her body. Because with it she feels GOOD for a couple of days after the chemo.  Not high, just good. Less pain. Less nausea. Less malaise.  Less pessimism. Sunday afternoon she sinks but she never gets as low as she did without the juice. She seriously considered quitting chemo because of the side effects.

I share this so you know the mental and emotional effects of steroid use can be as profound as their aid in physical regeneration.

Would a drug that did nothing but enhance motivation be cheating?

Methamphetamine too, in the beginning.

But it is not even about that. It is about leveling the field. And giving the ones who don't want hair growing out of their backs a fair chance.

Right & he won 5 Tour de France races plus donated like 1/2 a Billion with a "B" to prostate cancer research.

If these athletes want to "do roids" to win, have at it. It's your body. The "squeaky clean" $hield just got a lot more tarnished.

7, and he was stripped of those

Yeah "stripped".

They can't "strip" him of the fact he actually competed, rode a bike & WON those races. I'm 100% certain NOBODY else in the race was "juiced".

The other racers are pissed off that their "juice" didn't work as well as Lance's.

Football is no different. Who can cheat the best & not get caught. Poor Billy B & the Patriots.

HGH, baby.....it's the new NFL

Like Henry said, I'd rather watch Cyborgs.

I watch battle bots on ABC. That's fun

Even if Goodell suspended them, they'd be locked up in court for years (like Starcaps) and I doubt they'd get a court of law to agree that this is enough evidence to suspend someone.  Remember, all the NFL has is that article.  They have zero evidence that supports the article, they have no access to the sources used in the article, and they don't have access to the journalist's notes.  Why are they interviewing everyone?  Because they literally have nothing else.  I'd be shocked if CMIII misses a game because of this.

Just ask Tom Brady what happens when Goodell decides to suspend someone based on no evidence. Anyone involved with negotiating that CBA that gave Goodell such broad power to discipline should be fired.

Yes but PED suspensions are governed under different rules than "integrity of the game" suspensions.  The former has appeals heard by an independent arbitrator, the latter has appeals heard by Goodell.  And PED suspensions offer little gray area than "integrity of the game" suspensions.

Of course, Goodell could try and step in and call CMIII's unwillingness to help in the investigation to be suspension worthy.......but would the NFL really want to jump into that pool again?  Actually yes, they probably do.  Agree on the CBA negotiations GD, the people involved should be fired.

They have no additional evidence. They only have the Al Jazeera report, which Sly recanted.

The NFLPA requested from the NFL any additional evidence supporting an investigation of the players; the NFL did not provide any such evidence, nor did they inform the NFLPA or the players that any such evidence exists. Instead, the NFL has decided to publicly pressure the players into submission.

Good luck making these guys admit something.

Here's what I think... Neal used and Sly was his guy. Neal brought Sly to GB and the 25 players he talked to told him to piss up a rope. Sly talked big-shot to the Brit athlete on the secret video-tape hoping to get another customer with access to more customers. He dropped names (CM3, Peppers, other Packers) in hopes that lends credibility to his methods.

10 episodes of Making a Murderer and people all over the US thought Avery was innocent.

That's interesting, I did not realize the rules were different. At this point I wouldn't put anything past Goodell. If he believes the players are guilty then he will find a way to punish them.

I've been kind of surprised Mike Neal hasn't found work yet, I figured some team with a need at OLB/DE would pick him up as depth. He's obviously radioactive at this point with these allegations looming.

Inside the NFL & NFLPA these may be more than allegations for Neal, which means a suspension is coming. So why sign him to a 53 and owe him the year when you could get him in week 5?

So what sort of suspensions are they probably looking at?  4 games?  8?  The whole season?

who knows where this is headed, but as a side note , Clay has never been suspended for PEDS before.

Peppers and Neal have been.

The more I think about it, the more this does scare me a little.  You're right, once Goodell makes up his mind, he's going all out no matter how stupid his position is or how much it costs in lawyer fees.  Or how much it tears apart an already terrible relationship with the NFLPA.

People!!! They are all using. There might be 10 guys in the league who are not using PEDs. The rest off them? Heavy users.

I think people are missing the point.  The Packers get to wear the face of juiced sports.  In general, sports just becomes more and more pointless and hypocritical in the "ideals" it professes in multi-million dollar ads with juiced athletes talking about "dedication".  Let's just call a spade a spade and stop with the full frontal defense on what we all know is bull****.

Do we even know what a clean athlete looks like anymore?

Peppers and Neal have been.

According to Google:

The suspension is up to 6 games for a first offense for violating the PED policy. If you look at the suspensions he has been handing out, he seems to favor game suspensions for PED and substance abuse violations.

Second offense for PED's, it says the player "shall receive" a 10 game suspension, without the "up to" language.

So if found in violation, Peppers and Neal are out 10 games.

In a statement released today, the NFLPA noted that the primary source for the Al Jazeera documentary recanted his claims before the documentary even aired. Given that, the union believes the NFL has no basis to question Packers linebackers Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers, Steelers linebacker James Harrison, free agent defensive end Mike Neal and retired quarterback Peyton Manning.

“The NFL has chosen to initiate an investigation of these players based upon now-recanted statements that appeared in an Al Jazeera report,” the union’s statement said. “The NFLPA requested from the NFL any additional evidence supporting an investigation of the players; the NFL did not provide any such evidence, nor did they inform the NFLPA or the players that any such evidence exists. Instead, the NFL has decided to publicly pressure the players into submission. We will continue to advise our players about their rights and hold the NFL accountable.”

I normally use Google for any legal defense.

Again, show me the evidence. If all you have is an AL Jazeera recanted report & hearsay from a blog on the Internet (Ahem, x4), I think we'll need to move along.

No failed drug test, no "interview" & no suspensions for PED's. Sweep It under the rug just like Denver & New England cheating.

Agreed. The NFL doesn't want or need this for the Shield. Their "investigation" is window dressing. Remember, their plan is to "publicly pressure the players into submission."

Remember Jerry, it's not a lie if you believe it.

The CBA as amended in 2014 (to include HGH) contains the info I posted. Googling it is the easiest way to find it.  I don't like it any more than you do. Read the document.  The NFL has its own set of rules here, and by the terms of the CBA, again, hearsay is specifically allowed.

Or you could just go ahead and pretend everything is going to be okay, but I'm betting Ted ain't doing that. Peppers might have played his last game.

It is certainly possible Goodell is only going through the motions for these interviews, and he's just going to lob up some softballs and take the players at their word.  That is possible.  But he doesn't have to do that, and this is the second time Julius Peppers is going through it.
