X abuzz over NDSU WR Bryce Lance's performance last night in the FCS title game, but the kid has been making big plays all year. Only a junior, rumors are the top programs are offering him $1M to hit the portal...but as bad as the WR class is this year, he may do better declaring for the draft.

He's not a burner like Watson, but he's 6'3", 215lbs and still growing. I believe he's only 20. Seems like a guy the Packers would like.

I believe the top 3 needs currently for the Packers are CB, DL and WR. CB because Jaire can't stay healthy. DL because we need more pass rush. And, WR because of Watson's injury. Whether through the draft or FA Gutey needs to get some impact players at those positions.

They played the most zone this year because without Jaire they couldn’t play much man with their struggling CB room.

Jahdae Barron from TX can play boundary, slot  or safety and press, and might be on the wish list. Zy Alexander from LSU might be a guy if they go elsewhere in the first.

Shavon Revel from East Carolina and Benjamin Morrison from Notre Dame will be interesting. Both were trending towards top-15 picks before injury. Combine medicals will be huge for them.

Watched 2nd half of that game and the player that impressed me most was the Montana State quarterback, Tommy Mellot. Looked great throwing and running and supposed to be a great leader.

Mellott is Taysom Hill 2.0 but two inches smaller. He will get a shot somewhere...not sure if his skillset translates to the NFL, but he's a tremendous athlete. NDSU's Cam Miller is going to get a legit shot with an NFL squad. Wouldn't mind the Packers bringing him in as a QB3.

Grey Zabel's a guy I could see them liking, as well. He played OT for NDSU, but might be able to play anywhere along the line. The knock is his arms are a little short, and he's a little light, but the Packers have generally liked guys who have started multiple years and are in that 305# to #315 range.

From ESPN plus

I've seen a few mock drafts/videos where the Packers picked Trey Amos, with their first round pick. Other Big Boards did not even have him as being available, when the Packers picked, in the first round..

Yes, We saw what a pass rush did for Detroit, vs the vikings. Also, for a while, the vikings pass rush was disruptive against the Lions. Since both those teams are in our division, we can see how a strong pass rush worked against both teams.  Gute's focus, in the Draft and in FA, should be on doing what it takes to win the North. No more of this 1-5 crap. Time to dominate!  Pass rushers have to be at the top of the list, and a speedy, deep threat WR, right behind it.

I would bet good money that Gute's draft board probably has pass rushers at the very top of his list.  Gute IMHO is really good at recognizing issues at a position and he will attack that weakness as he did with safety last offseason.

So I wonder with Stokes they will try and keep him since he has been playing much better lately.  I kind of think they will let him walk but if they could get him for a decent price it may be worth keeping him around.
