Cuz Eff It! Why Not?!

That didn't take long.
It's only Tuesday. ð
Already had some posts about the draft - it's in Green Bay this year.
Cornerbacks please. A few of themâĶ
Trade up for a dominant WR1, draft DBâs round 3 or later cuz the ones we do draft high play like day 3 players anyway
A bona fide pass rusher has to be at the top of Guteâs list. Either through FA or the draft. Pressure on the QB makes the entire backend better.

Yes, We saw what a pass rush did for Detroit, vs the vikings. Also, for a while, the vikings pass rush was disruptive against the Lions. Since both those teams are in our division, we can see how a strong pass rush worked against both teams. Gute's focus, in the Draft and in FA, should be on doing what it takes to win the North. No more of this 1-5 crap. Time to dominate! Pass rushers have to be at the top of the list, and a speedy, deep threat WR, right behind it.
PRESSURE. PRESSURE. PRESSURE!!!
Make the QB move off his mark and Kevin King would have a shot at the Pro bowl!

Jordan Burch seems a guy Gutekunst would like. 6â6â 295# edge from Sam Steele land. Heâs a âCock transfer, as well.
Haven't seen any rankings yet, but I'm fairly confident Gute will draft a CB or DT/DE in Round 1. He do what he do.
It appears to be a good year for edge rushers, at least, and OT looks pretty decent, as does corner.

Assuming you missed a "g" there but the draft is in Green Bay. Wondering if Gute will make a splash and trade up if he sees high value in 1 of the players.
From what I can tell this is a weak draft overall so more picks might be on tap again.
Entire 7th round is Packers!ð
1- Corner
2- WR
3- Punter
4- Oline
5- Small school D tackle
6- CB
7- CB

I'm not so sure. It'll be interesting to see if he or Jared Ivey test better as they're similar players. He doesn't quite have an elite first step and he doesn't have great bend being as large as he is.
Guys like Abdul Carter and Dani Sutton from Penn State, James Pearce from Tennessee, Mykel Williams and Jalon Walker from Georgia, Mike Green from Marshall, Donovan Ezeiruaku from BC, Princely Umanmielen from Mississippi and Josiah Stewart from Michigan all have better get-off, and the Ohio State guys may also be in play. Walker should probably go to a 3-4 team due to his size , he's a fair bit like Nolan Smith before him, but the rest should be big enough to play hand-down DE.

Are you crazy? No way they wait till 5th round for the small school dt/de! Gute will trade up for one.
I wouldn't mind trading a pick(s) for an impact player (especially on D). There seems to be this thought that a team can never have too many picks. I don't necessarily subscribe to this,(but I'm just a fan). Gute's track record in the draft with high picks is (like most GMs), hit or miss. But the high picks on defense haven't been that great. If there are some impact defensive players available, I would hope he'd at least consider.

Maxx Crosby please. Wonât happen, but it would be fun.
X abuzz over NDSU WR Bryce Lance's performance last night in the FCS title game, but the kid has been making big plays all year. Only a junior, rumors are the top programs are offering him $1M to hit the portal...but as bad as the WR class is this year, he may do better declaring for the draft.
He's not a burner like Watson, but he's 6'3", 215lbs and still growing. I believe he's only 20. Seems like a guy the Packers would like.
Only if he brings Trey along
Homer alert. Kyle Kennard.
I believe the top 3 needs currently for the Packers are CB, DL and WR. CB because Jaire can't stay healthy. DL because we need more pass rush. And, WR because of Watson's injury. Whether through the draft or FA Gutey needs to get some impact players at those positions.
They played the most zone this year because without Jaire they couldnât play much man with their struggling CB room.
Jahdae Barron from TX can play boundary, slot or safety and press, and might be on the wish list. Zy Alexander from LSU might be a guy if they go elsewhere in the first.
Shavon Revel from East Carolina and Benjamin Morrison from Notre Dame will be interesting. Both were trending towards top-15 picks before injury. Combine medicals will be huge for them.

Watched 2nd half of that game and the player that impressed me most was the Montana State quarterback, Tommy Mellot. Looked great throwing and running and supposed to be a great leader.
Mellott is Taysom Hill 2.0 but two inches smaller. He will get a shot somewhere...not sure if his skillset translates to the NFL, but he's a tremendous athlete. NDSU's Cam Miller is going to get a legit shot with an NFL squad. Wouldn't mind the Packers bringing him in as a QB3.
Mellot is a burner! He torched the field on that long run. He looks like McCaffery in many ways but on a smaller scale.
Speaking of, I'm surprised nobody is talking about Cam Scattaboo!

Grey Zabel's a guy I could see them liking, as well. He played OT for NDSU, but might be able to play anywhere along the line. The knock is his arms are a little short, and he's a little light, but the Packers have generally liked guys who have started multiple years and are in that 305# to #315 range.
NDSU's Lance was big time on Monday's championship. Plus a name that is close to my heart.
Well, I'm a fan of Abdul Carter now. Put him next to Edge.
Will Amos be available at #32?

I would bet good money that Gute's draft board probably has pass rushers at the very top of his list. Gute IMHO is really good at recognizing issues at a position and he will attack that weakness as he did with safety last offseason.
So I wonder with Stokes they will try and keep him since he has been playing much better lately. I kind of think they will let him walk but if they could get him for a decent price it may be worth keeping him around.
