Maybe Jaire wanted a CB who was better than who GB has put on the field to take some pressure off of him and/or bring more action his way. While Jaire is the best CB when he's on the field, QBs know they don't have to throw to his guy when they can easily pick up yards going to someone else. Maybe Jaire just likes challenges. Who knows?

I'm not sure how true this still is.  His rating (QB efficiency vs) is "not good" over the last two years of play.  Could have been related to the injuries but still not a good sign for a CB fast approaching 30.

There have been opinions that JA was upset losing Rasul and when he didn't see a move last year to improve CB it was easy for him to be injured for the year.

If Alexander stepped on the field today he’s clearly their best pure cover guy.  Sure, he’s not a great or willing tackler and ball skills aren’t ideal but in terms of lining up and pass defending he’s still very effective.

Agree with this. I would like to see him stay. And I would like to see a lot less of Nixon out there.

Jaire is a loon...but you just have to know how to manage it. Lots of loons in the NFL. As long as they don't have a substance abuse problem, you can work with any of them.

In spite of the fanboy media assertions to the contrary, I always felt like keeping Jaire was the best option. Hope it happens. He's really good when on the field.

This sounds like something Gutey would say "ridiculous"πŸ˜ƒ

Agreed, except Jaire’s on field performance has never been the problem.  The problem is he’s never on the field.

The Packers (as of yet) don’t have a backup plan for Jaire so they might as well try to keep him. Gute needs to have a backup plan even if they do keep Jaire though. Don’t go into to next season thinking he’s going to play every game because his history says he won’t.

Gutey seems to do well when he does FA...gotta believe if he's not making moves it's either because there are none he likes, or none he's willing to pay the market value for.

Weak FA class. Wilde this morning noted Gutekunst essentially said this at the combine.

The big names were almost all in the trade discussions, and many stayed put.
