That play by Clay will go down into the storied depths of legends. Strip sacks by blowing up a WR Downfield for the recovery. Good Lord.

The Clay strip and recovery play was as big as any play I've seen this season! To realize the ball was live and to recover it by knocking the NYG WR out of the way will be a highlight for our Defense to rally around for a long time! Way to go, Claymaker!

spent the 4th quarter up under the north endzone scoreboard taking in the awesome view from high upon Lambeau - thanks for kicking the gints ass so much as to make that possible GBP!!   whatta day, so many highlights, so much greatness.  keep it going at Lambeau south - Wisconsin owns jerruh's stadium, keep it that way!

+ Clays heads up play on the sack/fumble recovery showed good awareness.

- Injury to Jordy and maybe our pass rush was not what I hoped it would be. But that last part was just my own expectation. It does not bode well for next week.

Pass rush wasn't maybe what you hoped it would be? Clay showed good awareness? Are you ****ing out of your mind?!?!?!?!?! **** man. What the **** more do you want?

I kept reading here that the pass rush was going to be great against Newhouse and the gang. So that's where that came from.

Besides, if I were out of my mind I would probably be the last to know.

Marvin Lewis was the best coach on the Ravens team that won the SB.

Heck yeah.  Just look at his playoff success with the Bengals.

Count me in as one who read your post and thought, "The guy was head coach of a SB winning team."  And I didn't think about that team having perhaps the weakest QB of any SB winning team.

(True, a great defense.)

One of my main thoughts is similarity of this team with the last SB winning team.  It is like a resurgence at key positions at just the right time.  Had the Pack still had Nelson...

Nelson, Cobb, Adams, Montgomery, Cook, Rodgers

That is a TON of weapons!

And at RB, Michael, Ripkowski, Montgomery.

On D, Randall healthier, Clay looking healthier.

Things seem to be gelling at just the right time.

Has anyone heard if Bob Holtzman is concerned about Green Bay's chances in Dallas?

Well if you listen to ESPN they are giving the Packers about no shot at all.  I usually don't watch ESPN anyhow but I can imagine this week they will be insufferable with constant Cowboys coverage and of course they constant NBA pushing down our throats.

Anyhow that's fine keep underestimating the Packers.

If the defense plays like they did yesterday (at least after the first two drives where they were bailed out by a few Giant WR drops), this team can beat anyone.

Other than Ben Fennell's tweets, no one has discussed how dominant Mike Daniels was on some of those running plays. It was the ability of the DL and ILB to stop the run that allowed Dom to play the coverages he did. It will be a lot different doing that against the Cowboys line though.

Also, we are facing Dak fricking Prescott. He's looked great this year and maybe he's the second coming of Tom Brady, but let's see how he holds up under some playoff pressure if we can control Elliott and the run game. Prescott's scouting report out of college suggests that if you can force him to throw on the move, he struggles - that's why he was a 4th round pick. He's thrown most of his passes off of play action with no pressure.

WEAKNESSES: Work in progress as a passer but has a live arm and good field vision. His footwork is inconsistent and he loses accuracy when his feet are not set.

Tends to predetermine some throws and relies on a lot of back shoulder patterns, something that got him in trouble against Auburn and Alabama. Has not shown the consistency to lead his team through the air in tough road environments when the ground game is shut down.

Cooks drop with 6 seconds in the first half was HUGE

Bailed the team out of yet another terrible clock management situation.

IIRC, AR could have spiked it with :24, in (long) FG range. Chance for at least one, maybe two,  more sideline throw to move the ball closer or at worst a long FG attempt to end the half.

If Cook catches that ball, the clock runs out without even an attempt to score.

Rodgers...vintage performance by #12

Peppers...the veteran came to play. Made key plays in big spots.

Cobb & Adams...really stepped up after Nelson went down.  Glad to see #18 out there again.  He had a quiet regular season, but last night proved that he's still a stud.

CMIII...That sack/FF/FF/FR play was fantastic.  Hopefully that gets him going for the post season run.  He looks healthy now.

Randall & Gunter...the young pups were up to the task.

O-Line...did a great job giving #12 the time he needed.

 Daniels...he was solid.

Injuries.  Hated seeing Nelson go down on a cheap shot and Martinez on a freak roll up.  Hopefully they can go next week, but I'm not optimistic (especially Nelson).

MM's Call on 4th & 1.  I'm not opposed to going for it, but that was not a good play call.  Punting the ball is probably the best option, especially given the way our defense was playing.  Sounds like MM owned it after the game.

Slow start.  That was a frustrating start, but I knew it was only a matter of time before the offense would get on track.  We can't do the same thing next week.  Need to be better out of the gate.

In the end, it was just a great playoff win.  Spectacular.  Looking forward to the trip to Dallas.  That's going to be a tough game, but I really think we can pull it off.

Throw to Cobb at the 50 gets them a 1st down

0:38  1st-10 at 50   incomplete to Adams left sideline

0:33   2nd-10 at 50   screen to Monty right flat - he hands the ball to the ref at 0:24, refs placed the ball down for play at  0:15  The spike here would have been on 3rd down. Tough to put clock management on McCarthy in this brief series of plays,

Mike Silver w/McCarthy last night. McCarthy discusses the 4th down call and mind-set.

"Oh, I was pissed off," McCarthy admitted. "Totally. That's just the way I'm wired. I feel responsible when things don't go well. I mean, my job's to orchestrate and keep our guys in healthy plays and create flow and rhythm for Aaron. That's the way I believe play-calling should operate. But there was too much risk there. I screwed it up."

Aaron does 2 things better than any QB I've ever seen throw a Hail Aaron.

1. He keeps the ball in play and targets specific areas. Ever see a QB throw a HM that lands 10 yards out of bounds? Or on the 7 yard line? You know that drill in Camp when Aaron floats balls 50 yards into the fishing net? That drill isn't to wow the fans at practice.

2. He puts the ball so freaking high in the air. It has to be a bitch to try and time a jump to knock down a ball that's damn near coming straight down.
