Biegel put on IR yet again and is done in Miami, which will somehow try to overcome the loss of Vince's 2.5 career sacks.
He may not be much, but there is no doubt Kevin King had the best career of the 4 defensive players the Pack took in rounds 1-4 of the 2017 draft.
Would love to know what Gutey's role was in that draft.

NFL waiver wire is out, longest one of year. 26 pages, over 600 names. Team pro personnel departments now go into busiest night of year, drilling down into the names to see if a 6th receiver, 5th linebacker, 4th safety, etc. is better than what they have. No one is safe yet.

Punting just seems to be harder to evaluate than you think it would be. You can have the strongest leg in the world, but if you can’t get it off quickly and consistently it doesn’t matter much. I heard Opie had an incredibly strong leg, but come real game conditions just couldn’t duplicate what he could do in drills.
Add to that the fact that he looked like the biggest scaredy cat when a punt returner got near him, it’s no wonder the Pack decided to move on.

Biegel got 5.4 million dollars to generate those 2.5 career sacks.

Money. Those 5th rounders can hold a roster spot for cheap for 3 years but they aren't worth the cost of 2nd contract when you can get similar or slight drop in production for league minimum.
