- JoeBa standard returned
+ Love showed he CAN play better, so perhaps this was just a bump in the road.

+ Have to get up early and taped it
+ Grandmother's maiden name was Devito
- New the outcome just watching the Devito ballwashing in the pre-game
- first few minutes had a SF playoff game vibe to me
+ Predicted 6 wins for this team so everything else is gravy
Only 2 + is still in 7th playoff spot and I didn't hear or recall any major injuries.
Too many - - - - but the ones that stick out: Missed FGs, Rashan Gary MIA, too many high throws by Love, final 2 minutes of defense, 2 pt play the whole world knew it was going to be a run by Reed, Nixon is not the player he was last year.
-another ugly loss due to mental errors and mental midget Joe Barry
+if it takes ugly losses like this to finally kick him to the curb, I'm here for it.
+ Kraft. Excited to see what he and Musgrave can do on the field together.
/ Didn't hear Gary or Preston's name called anywhere
- Nixon. Was just terrible everywhere he was on the field.
- JLove. A lot of missed targets and wounded ducks.
- Savage. Nice job getting run over by Danny DeVitto.
- MLF. Hurry up with a little over 2 minutes to go. That 2 pt play...and you know you have a Joe Barely coached D.
- Joe Barely. 3rd and long defense...terrible. Run d..terrible. In game adjustments...terrible. Defending against a td when you need to keep the opponent out of field goal range...terrible.
Just a giant shit show, but I’m not going to get all worked up over it. They’re a young team experiencing growing pains. It happens.
I’ll give Love credit for pulling his head out of his ass towards the end of the game and giving his team a chance to win. Unfortunately, he was Barry’d.
Many players, coaches had good moments but then the same players, coaches had bad moments, too. It seems the team fell for the "trap game" hype. So here goes:
+++Kraft is a keeper. Taylor had some good runs through the line. AJ Dillon had that great run where he "Eddie Lacy-ed" defenders down the side line. Nice to see Toure on the field. Malik Heath's TD. Valentine's heads up play on the Barkley fumble! More of that, please!
----- Patrick Taylor struggles or does not think to get out of bounds, when he has the ball. Toure and Doubs both get TDs if they get their feet down, in the end zone. Reed was wide asleep on that pass Love threw to the corner of the end zone. If he has any ball awareness there, that's a TD. Referees sucked once again: How is that catch, along the sideline, by Doubs, an incomplete pass? The catch by Heath, in the end zone, was a TD--he caught it, took two steps and then it was stripped. Rudy Ford getting that flag on STs. Nixon not recovering the ball and laying on it, on his turnover. Our OL, and Zach Tom, in particular had a rough night. Almost forgot Rasheed Walker whiffing on a block. Love was off, a lot, on his passing accuracy until late in the game. Little or no pressure or sacks on the rookie QB Devito. Where was Gary, Preston and our DL pass rush, all night. Slaton busted through the line and ran right by Devito, on one play. MLF's play calling. The triple Lindy/fleaflicker/ desperation play he called nearly got Love sacked 10 yards behind of the LOS. The Reed end around on the 2 point play was too slow to develop to actually work. I'd rather see Love throw the ball to Kraft, or a WR there. The end around play they used with Reed, gets telegraphed once the D sees Reed running laterally, behind the OL. Love, not following Kraft to the pylon and instead cutting up field, right into two defenders, was stupid and not the first time Love has done that. Too many receivers not looking back at Love, on pass plays. Love was in trouble, most of the night, and was seemingly denied an outlet receiver, when he was pressured. Carlson missing the FG. STs basically sucked, all night long. Bissaccia has a mess to sort out. My advice to him is to start drinking heavily. And speaking of Barry, I won't.
Is it just me or are the Giants always kicking GB in the teeth?
One thing 4 and 12 did really well was throwing in bad weather conditions. I don't know if the wind was that big of a factor or if 10 was just regressing most of the night. Thing is he has a long history of accuracy issues and I don't think it's realistic to expect them to completely disappear. He will likely struggle with them for the foreseeable future. The key is minimizing it and not turning the ball over.
Silver lining: still playing without starting blue chip LT, RB, starting ILB, WR and with half a team of rookies. But hey lost to a terrible team that was trying its best to roll over. We can only hope they learned something from that.
I didn't see the whole game but you have to continue to be impressed with what the young WR's are showing. Tons of ability. Even Heath, a rookie who is what 5th on the depth chart showed some juice with that acrobatic TD.
Wrong…there was no coach who had good moments last night. They failed in every crucial situation.
One more thing that ate at me was the TV coverage. ESPN/ABC kept giving us split screens of our game and the Dolphins/Titans game. What a distraction! They kept showing graphics of the AFC playoff scenarios on the Packers/ Giants feed, too. It's hard enough getting to watch the Packers, from where I live, and then to have to share our screen with the AFC game, really sucked, IMO.
- having to watch Tommy Corleone's parents in the stands all night, along with the guy dressed in the black outfit and hat, with the Italian Horn around his neck who looked like the bodyguard from Godfather 2.
+ Hyman Roth and Johnny Ola weren't there, so we avoided a possible murder during the game.
- That bodyguard didn't whack Joe Barry.......
+ WR group for the most part. If not for their leaping, spinning, acrobatic catches Love's completion % would have been around 40% for the game.
+ Even though he had his worst game of the season, Love did show the ability to lead a last minute drive to take the lead. With Barry as the DC though they should have bled more time.
- Love had his worst game of the season. The weather/wind wasn't affecting Danny DaVito's passes.
- MLF falling in love with the reverse. It worked the first few times, but my god move on to something else, especially on the 2 pt conversion.
- Barry again. 2nd to last drive we got real lucky that Barkley fell and fumbled. The whole world knew they were going to run to kill the clock, yet he couldn't figure it out. And the last drive - Giants moved from the 25 to mid-field in 3 plays with zero resistance due to the stupid prevent defense. This guy is going to cost MLF his job one day.
- OL wasn't very good. Tom was getting pushed around a lot, he single handily blew up the flea flicker towards the end when he almost tackled Dillon.
+The 3rd round curse for Gutey just might be over with Tucker Kraft. The duo of him and Musgrave looks like it could be damn good for years to come.
+After a start where Love was sailing passes, he settled down in the 2nd half and looked much better.
-The Packers are paying Rich Bisaccia a shit load of money to suck ass at ST's. And spare me "they're young". Gute has signed veteran ST's guys Richie wanted and it hasn't made a bit of fucking difference. It is a terrible unit and the buck stops with him.
-/+ Maybe it's a good thing Dingle Barry's run D reared its ugly head once again. Because the smoke and mirrors show that he was coordinating a good defense the last 3 weeks was exposed yet again. I can only hope MLF sees this, stops making fucking excuses for him, and finds a better option in 2024.
-Where the fuck was Rashan Gary against a terrible Giants OL?
- So glad I didn’t see the whole game.
+ So glad I didn’t see the whole game.
ugh, ugh, just ugh.
@packerboi posted:-Where the fuck was Rashan Gary against a terrible Giants OL?
Getting his ass held...a lot. Yeah, he had a bad game compared to his standard...but the refs decided early they were not calling any egregious holding, much less the borderline stuff.
Doesn't get Dingle face off the hook...but it does explain quite a bit of the Giants success on offense.
To be fair to Preston and Gary, Andrew Thomas is very good and Evan Neal seems to be settling in. The Giants have invested heavily in their offensive line finally.
That said, it was mostly a shit show all around and they were already gifted a win they didn’t deserve by a missed field goal this year.
- I got frustrated with LaFleur's excessive wide sweeps with Reed but it seems once again, due to numerous injuries, there were no other speedsters on the field to keep the defense honest (Watson, Musgrave, A. Jones, eventually Wicks got injured). When Toure is running deep routes and A.J. Dillon is your main back there is no breakaway or outside threat. It is really hard to sustain drives when there is no chance of yards after contact or catch.
- I thought Doubs was going to turn into a solid 2 and it is still early but his hands are so inconsistent. He double-caught several passes tonight. There is no go-to receiver or TE on this team right now.
- Devondre Campbell is really having a down year. I know injuries are part of it but he's not impactful when he is in.
+ Despite the struggles in all phases, the team was leading in the fourth quarter.
How many times have we seen the lead given up late in the MM/LaFleur tenures? Mike Daniels had an interesting Twitter post/question about the lackluster Packer defense even though it has featured good individual players through the years, including his playing years.

You are correct, Thomas is good.
However, Evan Neal was injured and did not play.
4 of the 5 Giant offensive lineman were below average last night and they dominated the Pack's defensive line.
They sucked.
I posted last week that this would be the first test to see how a young team handles success, coming off the 2 big wins and 3 in a row. The answer was not good.
What last night showed is that we can't beat any one if : 1) Love has an off game and 2) We lose the turnover battle.

Ummm it was the wind
- OL & DL
-/+ Love started rough, but showed late so that's growth.
- LaFleur... keeping Barry, and going to the well too often with the reverses.
Oye... Wicks with a high ankle sprain.

Can’t? I beg to differ, that game could have been easily won even tho Love had an off game and they lost the turn over battle.
- The Giants gave us 2 absolute gifts in the punt that a guy accidentally hit and the Barkley fumble. That we couldn’t beat a bad team that tried to gift us a victory just shows we are not as as good as we had hoped.
- With both Reed and Wicks getting injured in this game, our receiver corps vs Tampa might be very very short handed. Maybe they’ll be able to play, but Wicks in particular might miss time. Let’s just hope Watson’s hamstring is well enough to play, I think Love missed him yesterday.
What if, and hear me out, we ran a jet sweep with a pitch back reverse with a flea flicker to a bubble wide receiver screen to the short side except we are throwing to a tackle eligible.

If that T then pitches it wide to Dillon, we're cooking.

Well we couldn't beat a bad Giants team who played badly, whose two turnovers came from players who the defense never touched. Tell me who are we going to beat playing like we did?
Nothing I have seen from MLF in any year of his tenure gives me any faith he will be able to win a Super Bowl. Got close twice with a HOF QB in two MVP years.
Shitty performances by D and ST in various weeks is the norm, regardless of year. MLF may be a good OC...but he's not a good HC.

Carolina. That's probably it. Although there is a scenario where Barry lets him sit back in the pocket with no pressure on him and gain some confidence.
Bryce will carve us up.
- - Welp, Packers are a Jekyll and Hyde team. I was expecting a let down not a meltdown.
Poor showings on all 3 phases of the game, just sloppy. Starts with coaches: MLF, Barry and Bisaccia field soft, undisciplined units. What was the game plan?
I don't like idea of blowing it all up but MLF doesn't have that IT factor. Not everybody is an alpha male but you need strong leaders in football. MLF and co. ain't that. MLF panics, acts scared and Barry refuses to be aggressive even with the game on the line.
I doubt What Me Murphy has it in him to do a clean sweep with his retirement/legacy looming but this staff/philosophy ain't getting it done.
++ Some good individual efforts but too many mistakes to overcome.
PS WTF is a "catch" in the NFL? BS
Told coaching adage ; "you are never as good as you think you are, you are never as bad as you think you are, you are always somewhere in-between"
I just can not get behind Jordan Love with his throwing mechanics and footwork that directly lead to poor passes.
I don't remember seeing an NFL QB so completely unable to hit any receiver in stride.

This team has a lot of issues.....IMO, QB is pretty low on that list
It seems like Love picked up some bad footwork habits watching AR get away with it.

Depending on the week.
Worst of all, his performance last night was a complete regression to previous poor performances...but I am willing to consider this a one-off and figure he will perform better in the remaining 3 games. He was also missing Watson...however, Watson's absence doesn't account for poor mechanical throws.
