I'd add Zach Tom to your list, Fandame.

I'd agree that Zach Tom had a very good year, but he did not play his best yesterday. He may be even better suited to center, but we've all heard he doesn't want to play there. We'll see what happens with Myers, but he may be lost to FA. I saw Monk warming up yesterday as center, but they didn't put him in. I would have liked to see him there just to see how he handled it.

- The season is way too long --going back to 12 games with a more restrictive playoff system would be so much better for player health and wouldn't take way from the immense interest in the sport... that'll happen the moment they care less about money 😍

+ youngest team in the league playing with dead cap issues--but not next year there are a lot of teams that are just better than the GBPs, including the Eagles--that will change

Packers have stopped drafting and developing offensive skill position players. They were on a remarkable run that started during Wolf/Holmgren but has dropped off considerably. Determining if it’s the front office or coaching staff messing up is above my pay grade. I’d lean towards the coaching staff as lafleur seemed lost when he brought in saleh and getsy. From 2019 until now, the llist of undeveloped skill position talent is damning.

There are at least 3 teams in the NFC with more talent on their rosters than GB.  Probably at least another 3 in the AFC.

I'd argue that Washington is coming up quickly in the Packers' rear view mirror.

And while some Packer fans seem to be consoling themselves that the Pack has a lot of money to spend this offseason, it is worth noting that 3 of our primary competitors have even more:

Washington: $89,640,464

Minnesota: $69,570,877

Detroit: $57,584,933

Green Bay: $51,298,659

(The Bears also have more to spend: $66,013,403).

Talking with a co-worker today and we agreed on this.   As much as yesterdays loss hurt watching Devin Williams give up the home run to the Mets hurt worse.  Sure beating the Dodgers would have been tough but the Crew could have done it.  To get to the Super Bowl it would have taken beating Detroit and then 1 other team.  Add in the fact we all knew Willy Adames would be gone when the Brewer's season ended and it makes that loss worse than the Packer loss.

Does that take into account how much of that cap space it will take to resign their own FAs? I know the Vikings have a bunch of guys who contracts are up.

My very first guitar was a Kramer-I believe it was a  Focus 3000-which I painted blue with yellow stripes a la Eddie Van Halen. I must admit feeling nostalgic seeing Kramers widely available again. Back when I was just starting college, a whole bunch of my favorite guitarists were Kramer endorses, including Andy Timmons, Reb Beach, George Lynch, Vivian Campbell.

When I first saw Van Halen on the OU812 tour at the Bradley Center in October of β€˜88, Ed was still playing his Frankenstrat, and still endorsing Kramer (iirc), at least until the F.U.C.K. album was released, when his Ernie Ball custom built came out. Reb Beach had switched to Ibanez, and before long that gorgeous Voyager RBM 400 hit the market. That’s one of my two wet dream guitars, that and the original John Petrucci JPM100 Picasso Ibanez.

The next guitar I buy will be a Fender Strat. My last purchase came down to the Ibanez and a Charvel Pro-Mod San Dimas style 1 super Strat with a pair of Seymour Duncan humbucker, an original Floyd Rose and a push-pull volume knob coil splitter.

Ultimately, the Ibanez won out.

The next buy I’ll make, however, will be a bass, probably a Fender P bass.

I started with a cheap Kramer Aerostar back in the day. I remember calling my guitar teacher and telling him I narrowed it down to a new bottom of the line Kramer or a nice Strat from a pawn shop. He said to definitely go with the Strat. I bought the Kramer coz that’s what Mick Mars played.  Lol

I moved on to a mid level Kramer that at least had a Floyd Rose. Then Nirvana happened and everybody quit playing those guitars. I played a Les Paul and Marshall half stack for a few years but funds got tight and I had to sell them both. I still regret doing that.

I quit playing for a couple years but I ended up buying a Mexican Strat that I still have. About ten years ago my first mid life crisis struck and I started buying vintage Kramers. Now I have a beat up Baretta, a Pacer Superstrat, a couple Focuses and a few Strikers. I refinished one of the Strikers and I’m finishing up another one for my son. I also bought a Mexican Telecaster a few years ago that I really like.

I never have owned a Ibanez, but I have several friends who did.

Like Charvels and Jacksons (and I think ESPs, too) , Kramer guitars just scream hard rock and heavy metal, to me.

They should change their company name to Kramer β€œif you pick this thing up, you better be able to fucking rock” guitars.

I’ve never met a super strat that I didn’t like, to be honest. If guys can be sluts, then I’m a slut for a fully loaded guitar.

My ideal pickup configuration would be an HSH, but I don’t own one of those yet, surprisingly.

It’s good that you’re playing again, bdplant. Having a guitar (or ten) to pull out after a disappointing season-ending loss is incredibly relaxing.

I’m working on building a home studio right now, so I’ll be practicing a good deal to get my chops back.

Super Strat slut….πŸ˜†

How are you building your studio?  My son went off to college last fall so I moved all of my gear into his room and I’ve been playing around with GarageBand on my MacBook.  I bought an inexpensive but decent microphone and a midi keyboard.  I’m really surprised at the sound quality I’ve been getting considering how much I spent. There is quite a learning curve to it all though.

Oh, and one final kick in the nuts after yesterday’s loss.

Nixon has announced that he doesn’t want to return kicks anymore. He wants to be a full-time cornerback, and a #1 cornerback at that.

Denial-it isn’t just a river in Egypt.

I agree I don't want him returning kicks either.   I also am ok with him as one of the corners we have I just don't ever see a world where he is a #1 CB for anyone.

We justifiably laugh about the RAS scores here and we know that a high RAS score doesn't mean a player will be good. But a low RAS score can tell you a lot. Nixon just doesn't have the athletic ability to ever be more than an average DB. The one thing that DBs need that he has in spades is unrealistic confidence in their own abilities.

Rock and roll, brother. 🎸🀘🏼🀘🏼

I’m an Ibanez guy…

…The Japanese craftsmanship on this thing is astonishing.

The only downside is that the RG body is heavier than the S Series I’m used to. But this beauty is seriously one of the finest guitars I’ve ever played in the thirty-five years since I first picked up an axe.

I have an Ibanez Roadstar II from 1985? 🎸 and a G&L P-style bass. Last year I picked up my dream guitar, a Greco Michael Schenker style Flying V.
