-His long ball woes continue. That deep ball on the first drive to a wide open Watson was another easy touchdown that he threw way short of target. It was a terrible pass and Watson made a hell of a play to adjust to it.

Concur.   Also, the 4th quarter ball to Watson was ugly.   If we use the excuse he couldn’t get set, then he needs to eat that. He got really lucky that wasn’t picked.   As it turned out we were able to punt and make them burn a lot of time to make it a 1 score game.

His WRs made a couple tough catches for him, Reed TD and Watson on the sidelines.  They also had two big drops on 3rd downs, both in the 2nd half.   Doubs on the slant and Reed on the deep corner.  Those drops were big.   Without them Love goes for over 300 and Pack probably win by 2 or 3 scores.

All in all, good game, not amazing, from Love and the offense. Basically 24 points if take XP stuff out of it.    We won the game with the 3 turnovers and multiple 4th down stops.  Big plays from the Front 7 in big moments.

Wow, what a pleasant surprise this was.

For all of my concerns about how many players couldn’t play today, I was floored at how well their replacements played.

The big question for me is this: Barry’s defense was much more aggressive today and obviously it made a huge difference. Was this change Barry’s idea? Did MLF demand a change? Does this mark the beginning of a new approach to the D that we will see regularly?

All of these questions and more are being asked by Packers fans across the nation. We want more of this new and improved defensive scheme!

We saw it from time to time last year.  He always reverts to the soft approach.

+ As accurate as I've seen Love. His intermediate game is his strength, but still has issues with deep passes. He looks confident and in control of the team.

O-Line was really solid and this time, they were the bullies. The Lions tried to get chippy in the 2nd half but the Packers hit them back right in the mouth.

- The officiating was bad, not for what they called, but what they didn't call.

Some computer geek thinking he's Slim Shady at halftime...in Detroit of all places.

Moose Johnston sounding like he hasn't gotten over the Dez Bryant drop yet.

I hate yams.

This. He looked like he belonged. MLF has added a lot more pre-snap motion back into the game plan, which says not only does Love have a better grasp of the game and plays and timing, but so do the other players. That motion prevents the other team teeing off and allows the OL to better hold their blocks and gives Love more time, plus we see how MLF wants this offense to run. It really started last week and the trend continued today.

That comment by someone that GB was "soft" should be repeated every week!

At least it wasn't a flag fest. And GB cleaned up the play so they didn't see flags all day. There was some stat about how much better GB's offense plays when it isn't penalized, and the past two games have proven that.

Geez, the next 10 days are going to be fun!

If Love hit Watson in stride, who's to say he would have caught it?

+ Tackling

+ Very impressed with the juice they brought on both sides of the ball.  I think the two coaches that deserve a ton of credit are Bisaccia and Clements.  Bisaccia is beloved and motivating and Clements is obviously doing his best Yoda impression with Love.

+ Moving Douglas makes even more sense as you watch these youngsters play.  Makes me wonder how many vets they may set free/move in the off season.  Could we have the lowest payroll in the league next year?

+ Spending a limited amount of time on this site where I am not privy to the stitch and bitch sessions.

- Love was great overall, but his tendency to underthrow balls has got to be attended to.

+ the win wasn't just beating the division darling, in their house, on national TV, down a bunch of starters, with the youngest offense in the league.  it was man handling a team that called you soft and had taken your lunch money the last 4 times you played them.  soft teams aren't typically able to shed that reputation and that win gives hope they can.  they have to if they want to develop into a top tier team.

+very impressed with Love.  made a bunch of throws that corrected my posture.  missed a couple layups but hit all the other touch passes he was struggling with this year.  biggest question now is can he be consistent.  i wouldn't have expected a better performance from 12.

-missed the first quarter forgetting the early start.

-the XP issue is correctable, right?  right?

-a few dropped passes that hit guys in the hands

+/- DET came into this game thinking they could just show up and win but also coming off an improbable come from behind win 4 days ago.  that game probably had them thinking they could F around vs GB and just flip the switch when they needed to to win.  they're also in a spot they haven't been in for decades.  they're a front runner with space in the division and haven't learned how to handle success yet, or how to deal with being the hunted.  we'll see if that team/HC can right the ship going into Dec and the playoffs.

+/- I was looking forward to the higher draft slot but as others have said, winning is a culture and a disposition.  this team being as young as it is needs to learn how to win and overcome adversity in order to grow in the right direction.  I don't expect them to look this good the rest of the way.  they'll still have ups and downs.  the overall trajectory just needs to continue in the +slope direction.

When you're projected to have a super high pick after losing most of your games, it's easy for some people (Myself included) to start looking ahead at the draft and think about the possibilities.  Everybody looks at situations differently...

That said, if Love keeps playing like he has over the past few games and continues to make progress, it's pretty clear that GB needs to build an offensive line around the kid and see what the next several years brings with him as QB1.  He tends to under throw deep passes but hopefully that is correctable.  I am very impressed with his mid-range passing, ability to adjust his throwing motion (side arm, etc) to find better passing lanes and most notably his calmness/poise.  The kid is trending up without question.

My biggest positive this week and last, Jordan Love is showing clear progress.  No, he’s not Favre/Rodgers in their primes, but he’s showing enough that we don’t draft another QB next year with a 1st or 2nd round pick.

2nd biggest:  Joe Barry’s D was legitimately good yesterday.  I am on the β€œlet’s try someone other than Barry” bandwagon, but hey he had those guys playing much harder yesterday than he usually does.  I’m skeptical it can remain that way, but Barry gets an A- for his defense yesterday.

Been thinking about this post for a bit.

I’m a complete fucking asshole….to complete assholes.

With age comes less tolerance for dumb motherfuckers….something to do with less time to be wasted on fake nice shit I guess. I have nothing to prove and nobody to please.

I love it when people use the β€œI’m an old man” excuse to rationalize obsessive rudeness

I think a lot of us looked at this season as a transition year.  Get Love reps and see what he can do to determine if he’s the guy or not.  If he isn’t, then they can address it in the offseason.

For now, he looks capable and is getting better.  That’s very encouraging because ideally we don’t want to be spending more high draft picks on a QB if we can avoid it.  Use those early round picks on the OL or RB or DL or safety.

Whether it’s BK or someone else why do people get so worked up about what’s said?   It’s a fucking chat room.  Speak your peace and say what’s on your mind.  It’s not personal unless you want to make it something it isn’t.

I seem to recall someone saying x4 isn’t for pussies.   Could have fooled me with how some of you are reacting.

Where’s Hank when you need him.
