True story time: FF league ....I once traded Robert Smith for Carl Pickens in the 90's.... literally the week before he blew out his ACL and Carl Pickens went OFF the rest of the year & I won the championship. Everyone told me I was effing stupid for trading Smith who at that point was killing it. Lo & behold I pivoted to Carl Pickens and won the title.

Blake to Pickens was a fun combo for a while; had both one season. Weekly scores and standings were handwritten, xeroxed, and mailed out in those days. Transactions were made by phone or in person and called in to the commissioner, add/drops were a buck apiece and on a fcfs basis. Ah, the good old days. 😊

+  I learned something about the coin toss.  I thought when a team deferring meant they were choosing to receive the ball first in second half, not delaying their choice.  So I guess in theory if the Packers win the toss and defer, the Viking could say they want to kick off to open the game and the Pack would get the ball to start both halves.

+ Packers Win

+ Jordan Love he had an ok game and is having a very good first year.  He needs to get his footwork straighten out to get to the next level.

- Joe Berry still employed.  I tried early to give him the benefit of the doubt because the D wasn't bad in points allowed.  That was a mistake.

- "Packer Win" I always root for a Packer win however I do believe a better result today would have been an OT loss.  In that scenario, the Panthers spike the ball in time, kick the game tying FG to get it to OT.  The Panthers win the toss and receive.  Good ST coverage pins the Panthers at the 15 yard line.  The Panthers drive 85 yards in 5 plays for the Touchdown.  Berry is fired!

Again.  So vague. I wonder what's in Boris' head? My Christmas wish? Clarity for the Boris household.

Obviously sex.  He wants to fuck Joe Barry and wants Adam Thielen to blow him.

We've obviously all been naughty little boys and girls not to get a Joe Barry firing for Christmas.

So you got more trophies in your case than the Vikings!

Offense-wise, I really think they are coming along and could be a really good group over the net number of years.  Obviously need to improve the O Line and get a stud RB.  But I am enjoying the growth and development of the offense.  Love isn't Rodgers but he doesn't need to be--just keep playing cool and smart and don't try to do it all himself.

Special teams, I'm not really worried about Anders.  He's a rookie and is going to miss some kicks.  Mason missed kicks.  But I think he will continue to improve.  He definitely has the leg.  Some of his misses you can tell were from snaps or hold issues--the missed XP today the snap was high.  Doesn't take much to get the rhythm off.  The punter is rookie too I think, so I expect he'll get better at holding the ball.

Defense, I think individually there is a ton of talent there.  As it showed today, when they are used correctly they can be really good.  But as has been noted here ad nauseum, Barry is not putting them in place to be successful 90% of the time.

+ I enjoy Dean Blandino being so consistently wrong---draft kings...or some casino, must have an in game  Blandino wager-that can be placed when the red flag is thrown

Idk that anyone would mind if they did away with the stupid league consultant on broadcasts altogether. They offer next to nothing.

He was right about the Eagles jumping. Eagles got a gift with the phantom Giants center moving.

Not that I care at all.....just saying

The fact that there's any ambiguity at all, or as Blandino said "It's a judgement call", is a direct result of tolerating way too much movement of o linemen before the snap. Teams like Philly get away with murder doing that stuff. Teams like NYG end up with the shitty end of the stick.

Not even Drayton?

McCarthy?

Speaking of older FFL's. I was in one from like 1989-1996. For at least the first 3-4 years it was my job to compile the stats. Back then the only thing that counted was offensive TD's, FG's and PAT's but it was still a pain in the ass to go through the newspaper and add up all the point for each team.

And sometimes there would be a misprint and a team that "won" on Tuesday morning would be a loser a couple of days later.

Pulling a Goldie here, I just finally saw the first half of this game.

It is stunning how much more 33 adds to this offense.  How much more burst and vision and balance through contact he has. SO underrated in the league. He makes our OL look like elite run blockers.

If you want to feature Reed in your offense, then you need a backup on the roster that can play his role so the game plan doesn't fall apart if he gets injured.  Melton is that guy. Not an equivalent but good enough in Reeds role.
