The best part is the book on this team is still being written. And this team has already filled a lot of reading we're all going to remember for a long time. Chicago, Minny, Detroit. This team beat them all down wearing a huge bullseye for 6 years when losing would have resulted in the biggest pelt on the wall we'd never hear the end of.

**** this team just keeps on delivering.

Hope they don't sign him to an expensive extension.

I agree. He's not a superstar RB, but a good, borderline-Pro Bowl RB. However, his style results in him getting dinged up more than most RBs and he'll likely hit a wall around 27 or 28. For those old enough to remember John Brockington, he kind of reminds me of him. A big, punishing back who was a big punishing back who made the Pro Bowl his first three years and then was essentially washed up after that.

Eddie is much more talented as a runner and receiver than Brockington was. Big John's success was due to being a battering ram, plain and simple (having MacArthur Lane as his lead blocker for his early career didn't hurt, either). After his first three seasons he became much more hesitant as a runner, although the charitable take is that he tried to juke opponents rather than steamroll them. Didn't have the feet nor shiftiness to pull that off. Still a great player those first few years, opponents hated to tackle him once he got going.

I, too, worry about the amount of punishment Eddie takes. Plus I worry about the extra weight he's added each year. Suspect he has done that in part to punish instead of be punished. He's a country boy at heart, and country strong, but shedding a few pounds and working with a nutritionist may be the best thing for his career longevity.
