@RapSheet: Randall Cobb and the #Packers have reached a 4-year deal worth $40M, source said (as @AdamSchefter said 1st). Has $17M guaranteed.
@CharlesRobinson: Told that Randall Cobb turned down possibly as much as $1.5 million a season to return to #Packers. That's some love.
@PackerUpdate: Cobb's gets $500K more per year and $6M more in guaranteed money than Jordy Nelson. Age, timing and increased salary cap are reasons why.
@CharlesRobinson: #Packers deserve some applause from fans on Cobb deal. Two sides worked hard to make it happen. Huge for Green Bay and @AaronRodgers12.
Starting a new thread doesn't make it any more true. I won't believe it until McGinn says it.
@WesHod: By re-signing Cobb, that means the #Packers have their top three receivers under contract through the 2017 season.
@PackerUpdate: Re-sign Bulaga and GB will have all starters on O under contract through at least 2016 (I'm counting Adams and R. Rodgers as starters).
@AaronNagler: Four year deal puts Cobb back on the market at age 28. Should get one more payday.
@ByRyanWood: Randall Cobb's deal also makes him the richest slot WR in NFL, surpassing NYG's Victor Cruz. Of course, Cobb is also the most productive.
@PackerUpdate: Not re-signing Cobb would've gone against everything Ted believes in as a GM. Ditto for Bulaga. Draft and develop teams keep young stars.
Oh my, this almost sounds like a Goldie thread......
Sounds like Cobb decided to take a shorter contract that is good, maybe not as lucrative as another club, but is short enough that he gets one more crack at big money in only 4 years time--but in the interim plays for a winning club with a great QB where he will be a major offensive focus, maximizing the chances that his numbers will be big enough in 4 years to get that big money.
Worth repeating: @PackerUpdate: Re-sign Bulaga and GB will have all starters on O under contract through at least 2016 (I'm counting Adams and R. Rodgers as starters).
Ted knows. Mike knows. The players know. The window is wide open. Re-sign Bulaga, plug the ILB hole, nail the 2015 draft/UDFAs per the norm.
The time is now, mother******s. JUST WIN, BABY!

If Bulaga signs before Tuesday, I'll have nothing to wring my hands over as free agency begins.
Excellent news. Was confident all offseason that there was no chance he was getting away...but that wavered as we got closer and closer and all these reports kept coming out
Learned my lesson. Next up, Bulaga. Pack don't let their young quality talent get away...they just don't
That is great news! Now go get Bulaga too, best O in the NFL coming back.
Interesting work by Sexton, seems like he had Cobb hold out long enough to show he could have gotten a bigger deal for Cobb so the "smaller" deal was on Cobb not Sexton. This is especially true if the rumors Cobb turned down a similar deal earlier this week. Life would be easier for fans and GMs without agents. :-)
Keeps the current talons in the offense. I guess the Colts didn't offer. I am relieved and happy he is back. I felt that the offense would have been good enough to contend if he didn't re-sign. I think Ted wants more than that. I think he is going Ron Wolf in '96. I expect an interesting next few days.
@TJLang70: That's 1!!!!
@TJLang70: “@RapSheet: Randall Cobb had 6-7 offers today, I’m told. He turned down considerably more money elsewhere to sign with the #Packers.” My dude
@TJLang70: 1 down.. Now #BBB
Let's hope the rest of the OL applies heavy guilt tactics to keep Bulaga here.
Knew it! No way Cobb comes back. Wait...
Good deal for Cobb. Signed before FA but after the window shopping period started (like Shields), and gets 4 years so he's prime for another deal before 30.
He may likely have had some offers for more, but we dont know how they were structured or for how long. If they were for longer than 4 years or less guaranteed money etc etc. And who was the QB and near term prospects for those other teams. Cobb made a sound and wise decision to stay. $40 mil is a lot of coin and he has a chance to hit another jackpot.
Excellent news! Now the Pack can go all defense in the upcoming draft. Resign Bulaga, Raji and Guion, let House and Williams go get the stupid money somewhere else, and fill in the remaining holes at ILB and CB through the draft. If they can resign those three guys and have a good draft (at least one starting caliber ILB and one good CB), the Packers are easily the best team in the NFC in 2015.
Excellent news and the number certainly isn't out of line considering what Cobb brings to the table. Always thought they would get it done but my faith was beginning to waver.
Don't doubt there were other offers and Cobb may have turned down more money but some of the reporting comes across as Jimmy Sexton spinning furiously. Probably won't ever know the complete story of how it went down.
Looked bleak. Cobb can play quarterback. Stay healthy.
Wait until they cut Kuhn.quote:@PackerUpdate: Re-sign Bulaga and GB will have all starters on O under contract through at least 2016
I am surprised, but very happy.
I'm surprised and thrilled. Didn't think we could keep them all.
I guess I can always fall back on the fact that Ted doesn't sign free agents.
I apologize for the report last week citing Facebook saying it would be five years, $37 million. Obviously I was wrong.
The kudos from C-Boy is given to Cobb. Moving on to a black hole like Oaktown or Jax (team and city) would have moved him into the middle of the pack instead of the elite group he is in playing with ARodge and in the Green Bay system.
Smart move on his part…
Why do I feel like the off season is over?
After he was drafted:
“I would have waited until the seventh round if I could go to the Packers,” Cobb said. “It was well worth the wait.”
Glad to see his principles haven't shifted. What a good boy.
The biggest, most important signing is over for sure.
So much intuinatin'.
Very happy to see that Randall will remain a Packer. Looks like both side hit a fair and reasonable number.
The biggest, most important signing is over for sure.
I still think the underrated Buluga signing that is forthcoming is more important for very boring reasons.
BTW, considering the on field relationship with Rodgers, his QB past and general genius playing in this offense, would anyone be surprised to see Cobb lining up Wildcat only to truly go QB? I think the coaching staff is going to have some serious fun designing plays this year.
