Ravens are trading a 7th-round pick in 2020 draft to Packers for Ty Montgomery, per source. Packers clearly wanted to move on, and so did Montgomery.

Can't like this enough. Hope we got a third rounder, but that may be a fantasy. They need an RB something fierce....
Good Luck Ty. Now go make stupid decisions and fumble the ball for teh Ravens.

7th round in 2020????? That's worth less a 12 pack of Grain Belt.
He really couldn't remain on the team and something is better than nothing.

I concur.
Even if they got a 7th, fine by me. He was a guy that clearly 1.) didn't have the value to the team anymore 2.) said value didn't come close to warranting keeping him around.
MM is also on the hot seat. No reason for him to keep a guy who could indirectly be a reason for him getting fired.
Good riddens. And Gebins. Less PT being stolen from Aaron Jones now. This is a huge win.
To quote Curly Bill in Tombstone "Well bye"
Good analysis of the play. Him not letting the ball hit in the end zone is very telling.

Any Tombstone reference deserves a thumbs up! Let's hope the Packers have a better fate than Curly Bill
Gutekunst's call, but I'm sure the Power Trio were all in on the decision.
2 factors in this.
Obviously the fumble and all that that entailed (i.e. rumors, tantrum, iffy apology)
His role, which he questioned. He was the #1 RB, and now is barely a decent 3rd option and has been asked to kneel on kicks to the EZ instead of trying to make a play. He became a neutered football player.
Do they go with Cobb in this role? Do they bring up Tra Carson from PS? Do they trade HaHa for a LB and pick?
Just dumb. Momentum alone makes that an easy touchback.
I say roll with Jones and Williams and let Cobb be the emergency 3rd RB for now. They also briefly used Devonte Adams in that role. Not that I want to see him lining up there again but they could probably give one of the rookies a few reps in practice just in case.
He has averaged four yards a carry and learned how to block. But his reported tantrum was something that was probably worse than his bonehead play in the end zone. I am glad that we donβt keep players that cause discontent on the sidelines. Yet, I appreciated his effort on his position switch. Now, I wonder who gets to wear number 88?
I heard we got Joe Flacco for Kizer too...
Seriously tho, good move. We got something (just a 7th) and Ty gets fresh start.
If Pack cut him 50/50 odds Ty ends up in NE spilling his guts.
Easy to forgive him for bringing it out if he hangs onto the ball. Inexcusable lack of ball security for a critical situation.

And BAL picks up his salary.

listening to some of the guys on the team, 17 esp, 88 could not stay on this team. that they got anything short of nothing is a win. too bad, but that's the consequences.
Shit all around. I'm sure it's not indicative of anything.
Good...see ya bye!!!!
I remember seeing 33 celebrating with 30 after 30 scored touchdown in 1st qtr and wondering where is 88? Maybe nothing but it makes me wonder now.
ROTTT! ; )

No way.

Disagree. He not only disobeyed the coaches, but lacks the brains of even a junior varsity player. Bringing it out means we do not get a free time out at the 2min warning. He also didn't even get it to the 25. Not to mention the entire rest of the special teams was not expecting him to take it out and now they have to suddenly block. What is he thinking would happen? That he'd take it to the house? Great, you now leave 2 mins on the clock for LA to come back even if you miraculously do that.
It's just dumb football all around. Rodgers at the 25 with the 2min warning and all we need is a field goal? Why do you *ever* risk that? Jeremy Ross got cut for less.
Is he available?
Boneheaded play, and if he owned to the team afterwards and the media, he might still be around. He didn't whatever, I wish him well, I always liked him as a matchup weapon. Hope he has a good career moving forward.
Good.

If jones and Williams go down. Just abandon the run and be creative with AR12 and the stable of WRs
It had to be done. I got no ill will towards Monty but to keep him on the team was asking for a mutiny. Finally MM shows he has a back bone.
Gute has to have a plan for RB#3. RB's get hurt and AJ has already been dinged in his short career.

I did two overnight ghost hunts in The Birdcage Theatre in Tombstone. I encountered the spirit of Curly Bill on one of my ghost hunts. It was an awesome experience.

Says you! The draft trade value chart says that's as good as an 8th in the next draft!
I like Grainbelt

Plan is continue to throw it 40 times a game. We don't need no stinking RB... I read on this forum that balance isn't needed.

Good point. It happens almost every week with all the RB's healthy as it is.
We've got Tra Carson on the Practice Squad.
The value of team unity cant be reflected on a trade chart. Team doesnβt care what they get back for what happened Sunday.
