Looking back I have no idea why the Pats didnt go for it on 4th , even after the sack.

Seems easier for Tom Brady to get 15 yards then

- MAke a Fg

- Stop Lacy AND Rodgers

- drive down the field with no timeoutsin under 2 minutes

AND make a 2nd field goal or TD(depending on previous make)

I think it was early in the 2nd half that the Pats had 4th and 1 at the 50 yard line and punted - that was a head scratcher to me but BB was playing it close the vest yesterday or maybe MM just makes me think that that's an automatic go-for-it situation.

Watch the replay.  Nothing anything like a push-off.  Revis just being a sore loser.

Seems like Houston is running a campaign for JJ Watt.  Another receiving TD this week.

Nelson body checked him so technically yeah, but that's not going to get called because he didn't use his hands.

Positives

Overall Offense was outstanding (outside the red zone)

Pass blocking was insane at times (Rodgers had time to check his Twitter account on some pass plays)

Defense held a really good offense (and future HOF QB) to 21 points

Defense getting a sack when it counted most

Watching Brady melt down at end of game (priceless)

Negatives

The refs (how many flags can you throw and then pick up?)

Wide runs (which seem to get snuffed out more often than not)

Red zone offense (0 for 4 is not a good stat)

Other thoughts

Won't list little mistakes like Rodgers missing early on, few breakdowns in pass protection, Crosby (who has been money all season) or Adams' drop.  Those things happen.

Thank God I was listening to the radio and not the TV announcers when the game got close.

WTF were the refs drinking before the game?  I want some of that!

Another thing to note: Rodgers was off on a good number of throws yesterday. A couple to Jordy were off, timing on a slant to Adams... Rodgers was not as sharp yesterday as we have see him. It wasn't like Rodgers was unstoppable yesterday and the Packers squeaked by Brady. The Pates were outplayed in 3 phases and there's no deny it.

Positives:

Great atmosphere at Lambeau. Crowd was making lots of noise especially during Pats last drive. One of my best experiences there.

Two rookies, Adams and Ha-Ha played like veterans making several clutch plays in such a big game.

Defense coming up big on that final drive getting the only sack of the day at the absolute most critical time.

Packers brought an elite, veteran AFC quarterback to sheer frustration at the end of the game.

Offensive line gave Aaron some great protection, keep it up guys !

Negatives:

Adams drop at the goaline. He will learn to focus on those plays.

The red zone offense not getting it done. We Got the win regardless but the game wouldn't have been close had we gotten in even twice.

The talking heads here in CT were saying this didn't look like the same Patriots team from the past several weeks, at least on offense.  Their major point was that there were few rush attempts.  Of course, they are homers, but GB had something to do with that, especially the first few series.

It's interesting that the point of view from Pats fans is that this result would be different on a neutral field or if played again.  How so?  Do they really think that the Packers will go 0/4 in the red zone again?  If anything, the Packers did not play their best game - that should be motivation enough for the team to improve.  Their best is still in front of them!

If the game were hypothetically played 10 times on a neutral field, I'm sure the Pats would have walked away with at least one win.

But it wasn't, it was played once in Lambeau and the good guys won.

Linebacker Sam Barrington's increased role, replacing A.J. Hawk in the Packers' nickel package, also made a difference. Barrington was credited with five tackles, including back-to-back stops on second-and-4 and third-and-2 that forced the Patriots to punt on their first series.

"One thing about Sam is when he hits them he normally knocks them back," Capers said. "You don't see them bleeding him for a lot of yardage."

after that Dom said, "Ya hear that Hawk?"

+

a win

a rodg

a lacy

offense was good when it needed to be

17 is getting better - think i read he's close to passing sterling as a rookie

run defense - just tackle the guy, still seeing that tb redux with blount carrying 20 guys

off to a good start by subbing in for hawk, need more of this

need more beef up front that can hold point of attack or God forbid, push back into the qb

that's it, i think they are getting closer for a playoff run, my concern is a let up game that will let detoilet back into this thing...i am still not sold on the defense and against the hawks or niners, they will run it all day long and keep 12 off the field, seen that movie too many times....

This can't be possible.

Barrington with some struggles vs. the run (-2.1). Clay Matthews struggled in coverage (-1.9)

Barrington made some impact plays, but overall I don't think they had that great of a game against the run. Blount went right through the middle of the D with relative ease. If the Pats had maintained some kind of lead I think we would have seen much more running than we did. I think Barrington's big hits early set a good tone for the D to play hard, but overall I'm not ready to anoint him a good ILB.

Agree with GD.

I watched the replay last night and our run defense was almost embarrassing many times. I thought the same thing that if the Pats had even a 3 point lead they would just run the ball every down until the Packers stopped them.

I'm not ready to anoint Barrington a good ILB yet either, but I'm more than ready to anoint him a non-****ty ILB like Hawk.  Average is an upgrade over the dead body that had been out there 100 percent of the time.  So there's that.  Which is nice.

Yup. Agree with Free Safety. Seattle will do the same thing with Lynch because they certainly don't have any option at WR.

Barrington might not be Urlacher or Ray Lewis but he's a damn sight better than Hawk. Hawk on the sidelines is a WIN for our defense.

Hey AJ....Ever think about coaching?

On more than one occassion Hawk was in for Clay when the Pats ran the ball down our throats.

Nice white boys, although I suspect CMIII is not as nice as people think he is.

There were 3 more tailgating hours to get in a bad judgement frame of mind.

They already have Cam Newton, Kelvin Benjamin, etc. so if anything they have enough of those. They need more scrappy, blue-collar lunch pail Panthers.

(Are we talking about the same thing?)

Completely. You forgot about Kuechly. Yet another black Panther.
