Paws:

- Rodgers continues to amaze. His "escapability" is what separates him from Manning and Brady to be the best in the NFL.

- Young guys on offense getting PT, while they didnt perform the best, its a valuable experience. Sherrod, Williams, Green and I'm including Newhouse.

- MM is becoming that assassin play caller in the 4th quarter. 2 weeks in a row he has been ultra aggressive.

- Defense got aggressive at the end and started getting home when bringing 6. It's amazing what a pass rush can do for a secondary.

- This team is a winner. They don't panic, they are resilient and they are talented. Not many teams win missing their two starting tackles. We had 4 starters out in total.

Negs:

- Cliffy injury.

- RB's pass protection.. MM got so pissed at one point, he put in the rookie right after Starks missed a pick up.

- Interior line had a tough day in pass protection.

Notes:

I was getting peeved at Cobb thinking he is superman. I think Slocum got in his ear good and he finally started calling for the fair catch. I'm ok with the KO returns even if he only gets to the 15. Whats 5 yards when you have this offense?

Also, the penalty after the Cobb fair catch. I think that was on Slocum for running onto the field? I actually think he ran out to a$$ slap Cobb for calling the fair catch. If that's the case, I'm ok with it. A little enthusiasm toward the players for making adjustments is fine.
No negatives for me tonight. I'm not going to nitpick. The defense didn't play great in the first half, but they came out and pimp slapped Matty Melt and the Falcons. The defense was Nolan Ryan pummeling Robin Ventura in a headlock after the intermission. The offense got rolling, Rodgers was unstoppable (yawn, getting really boring having him with a 120.00 QBR every week), YOTTO had a couple monster catches after a couple of drops.

We're 5-0, and we've not even opened the throttle yet. This team has a chance to be one of the all-time greats. I truly believe that. They're responding to adversity. Injuries? Once again, guys are stepping up, and taking up the slack. After last year, this team knows they're never down for the count.

The Packers might be the bully in the NFL this year, and I'm friggin' loving it.

“We’re a team that’s all about overcoming adversity,” Newhouse said. “In this league there are too many good players to not have rough patches. We know how to fight through the rough patches and we know how to stick together as one and come out on top.”

“It’s not easy but I feel like they wouldn’t put me in that position if they didn’t think I could do it and succeed and help us win,” Newhouse said of switching sides. “When I first came here, I said I’d do anything to help the team win, whatever that meant, and I meant it. Hopefully I can continue to do that.”continue

When asked what it’s going to take to beat the Packers, cornerback Charles Woodson said: “I don’t know. I hope nobody figures it out. We’re just going to keep fighting. We have a good team. Our sideline stays calm in these type of situations. It’s a testament to the guys. We’ve worked a lot together over the past couple years. We feel like no matter what the situation, we can get ourselves out of it.”

Packers 25, Falcons 14: 'A better team'

quote:
“Look, 5-0 feels great, but we’re looking at greatness,” veteran cornerback Charles Woodson said. “If you look back, and I don’t want to make it too much about last year, but what we went through last year injury-wise, no team’s gone through anything like that and we still prevailed. That’s kind of our mindset now. Guys are going to go down, we understand that. But for us, there’s no excuse why we can’t win just because guys do down.

“We expect to win. That’s point-blank. We feel like we have the talent, regardless of who’s in, who’s not. We have the coaching to get (that talent) coached up so when they do have to go in they’re prepared to go in. We feel like it doesn’t matter who we put out on the field, we expect to win, and we expected to win tonight.” continue
++

-Sherrod coming in cold and playing well in a hostile environment
-Jones breaking out in a big way
-Rodgers being Rodgers (you can't rattle that guy)
-No special teams gaffes
-Crosby's best game as a pro IMO
-Running game came to life
-Packers owned time of possession
-5-0 without even playing their best football

--

-Finley drops
-Cliffy injury

Overall, a pretty good game. After the first quarter, the D only allowed like 100 yards after they were down 14-0. Dan Compers made some great adjustments.
+
Sherrod and Newhouse both held up reasonably well and much better than I anticipated, especially Sherrod.

Defense- After a horrible start they buckled down and did something I didn't see coming- hold up their end and give the offense, which was struggling a bit, an opportunity to win it.

AR- Probably the most complete QB ever.

Jones No dropsies and good to see him have a big game.

Crosby Great game and was hitting the ball extremely well.

Jennings The effort on the TD was unbelievable.

Injury to Clifton

Drops by Finley

MM's brain freeze on the conversion. It didn't matter in the end, but he's got to be smarter than that.
Raji Pulling No Punches

Packers defensive lineman B.J. Raji had a few choice comments about the Falcons after the game:

“We're just a better team than they are. Honestly. These guys talk a lot. But we're the champions. And that won't change anytime soon,” Raji said. “Great teams don't indulge in the kind of cheap stuff the Falcons do. Like I said, we’re the champions and we play that way. We walk away from the stuff they pull.

“These guys are coached to play after the whistle. I don't know what their deal is. I think it's a lack of talent on their part. We didn't worry about any of that. We came out and played our game.”
+ Crosby. Don't underestimate that 56-yard FG. That was a shot of confidence right there that, even though we were still down, it showed the players that they were still within striking distance. It also showed how much confidence MM had in Crosby, and his D if Crosby had missed it.

- YOTTO. How about giving the name and the first down signal a rest until you catch those balls every time that hit you in the hands?

I think he was trying to recall the number of a backup lineman to call at the half... Smiler

Frankly, he can look like Frankenstein for all I care if he continues to get players like he does now!

Maybe, @DET on T-giving and/or @NYG. I don't see them losing at home (remaining vs Rams, Vikes, Lions, Bears, Bucs, Raiders). These two (@DET & @NYG) of their remaining road games should be their toughest tests. The upset side to the Giants game is that is the game after the @DET game so they'll have 10 days to prep.

That all said, like Raji commented... they look at it like 1-game season, take 'em 1 at a time.

I've often wondered if TT has Asperger's Disorder.

Dude, you've just convinced me that you have no clue what Aspbergers is. What exactly are you a doctor of?

ha

that was crazy weird...my wife asked me to rewind it and show it again...TT has this dazed glazed stare to him...I don't think he blinked once in the 30 or so seconds the camera was on him....

but...I'll still take him as our GM...

McCarthy is going to give him a "Negative" on that play.

+ Jennings, What a dive to score the TD!
+ Poise & character, The entire team not flinching.
+ LT & RT, solid job but thankfully against a depleted defense (No Abraham)

- Clifton injury, (OWWWW!!!)
- T.J. Lang channeling his inner Daryn Colledge
- Why do we have to always put ourselves in a 14 point hole before starting to play?

Neutral - Rodgers, I'm finished praising the guy. I'm expecting him to play at this level for a long time. Patriot fans, Saint fans, Colt fans (w/ Manning) have expected no less out of their superstar QB's. I expect a very high level of play out of our QB. Brett Favre is lucky he didn't follow Rodgers.
