It sucks, but if you "do the crime you have to do the time".

Fortunately, we should have enough depth now to carry us past the two suspension milestones.

This is good news for Muir and Wilson. It gives Wynn a chance too, but unless he really comes on I still think he's toast (eventually). I suppose Guy is in the mix too, but we'll see.

Raji
Pickett
Worthy
Daniels
Wilson
Muir

When Neal comes back, they might go with 7 DL if there's been an injury at another position.

When Hargrove comes back, that could be the end of Muir or Wilson on the roster.

For at least the early part of the season, Raji's and Pickett's workload is likely to be more than ideal, but once Neal and Hargrove come back that will ease and hopefully they'll all be fresh for the playoffs.

We (shareholder) shall overcome.

It definitely wasn't a good moment for Drew. I could give him an explanation in 140 characters or less:

@drewbrees Coach Payton knew of bounty system and did very little if anything to stop it. The buck stops with him.

Then I hit "send".

I don't see their appeals and lawsuits going anywhere. They need to save their time and money and suck it up.

You know that isn't going to happen.

Yeah, you're right. Still, there's a faint hope that common sense will prevail, but we are talking about professional athletes here (many of whom would not be able to get through the day on their own, were it not for their athletic prowess).

The potential bright side to Vilma's one-year suspension for Saints fans:

Do you think the Saints were waiting to complete the Brees deal because of cash or for some post-suspension positive PR ?

Probably a bit of both would be my guess. The Saints could definitely use any positive news they can get, but I could also see them waiting until the money was right.
If I was Vilma I'd fight this thing for as long as I could. Not because he's innocent but because he only has a few years left. He just turned thirty and is on a two year contract that balloons to 4.8 million next year. He could get suspended this year and cut next year. His best move is to stall for as long as he can while he can.

Coach, excellent analysis. I am hopeful Guy will surprise.

As long as their offensive line continues to suck, I'm not the least bit worried about the Bears. Ditching Martz isn't going to change things that much, they don't even have a real offensive coordinator in there now. When he was first hired, the Bears bigwigs said Unfrozen Caveman Football Coach Tice was going to have the quarterback coach act as his "pass offense coordinator" to help him figure out how to assemble an NFL offense. Sounds like a ringing endorsement of his capabilities to me. It's more of the same old Ron Turner/Matt Cavanaugh/Gary Crowton/John Shoop/Terry Shea/Ron Turner redux/Mike Martz crap.
