Right now, half way thru the first qtr Boise looks like they donβt belong.

Could be the most lopsided final score in Fiesta Bowl history?

Penn State just gave them some sliver of hope by fumbling. If Allar would have just handed the ball to the running back, the RB had a hole to run through you could have fit three semis through.
What the hell is Penn State doing? Running a trick play, halfback throw back to the QB on 3rd and 1 from your own 20?
Other than the RB, Penn State is probably better at every position than Boise State. There is no comparison in trenches. Just line up and keep pounding them and get up by about 35 at the half and let your backups play in the 4th.
PSU keeps Boise in it. Maybe we have a game
Maybe a game afterall.
It's not likely, but it's not out of the question that both Ryan Day and James Franklin could be on the hot seat despite coaching 2 of the top 4-5 teams int eh country. Ryan Day because he can't beat Michigan and James Franklin because he's just a complete idiot in managing games.
Penn State is looking like a MLF-coached team does in the first half of a big game this year. Presnap penalties and head-scratching play calling.
James Franklin - "I have a huge advantage in the trenches. We could just run it straight ahead on third and short, but I think I'll run a play with the RB throwing it back to the QB on one play AND run a halfback wide against a small, fast defense on another."
James Franklin is probably a top 10 recruiter. Ryan Day is easily a top 5 recruiter.
Theyβre both morans when it comes to preparation and strategy and coaching.
Oh my
17-14 now Penn State
All Penn State has to do is line up and RTFB. Why throw? To pad Allarβs stats?
Hopefully tomorrows games will be a little more competitive.
How many of the lower seeded teams win? Penn State is 1. I think Texas beats ASU, and ESPN Match Up Predictor has OSU beating Oregon and Notre Dame over Georgia but by close margins.
I think the seeding is flawed IMO. And if you are going to use home field in round 1 you should use it in round 2 as well. Not sure Boise State wins anyway but they sure were not going to beat Penn State at a neutral site.
Sugar Bowl postponed for 24 hours due to the terrorist attack in New Orleans. Texas handling ASU as expected. 24 - 8 with 9 minutes in the 4th.
Skatterbo Rules!
This is why we watch sports!
Well, what a turn of events. ASU gets a TD, then an INT and now a TD and 2 pt after a Texas penalty on the 1st try. All tied 24 - 24.
Gotta love kickers
Refs swallowed the whistle there. IMO targeting

There is some justice in the world
Not sure this is good football but I have been entertained.
Great game
And onto 2 OT we go.
Texas in OT, 4th and 13, gets a TD to tie ASU. ASU took the lead when #77, an ASU OL, grabbed his own RB and dragged and then bodied him into the EZ for the TD.
A Texas INT ends the game. 39 - 31 Texas.
We have been waiting for a good gameβ¦hope the next two keep it up
Texas wins 39-31.
It will long be remembered, that 4th and 13 TD that ASU allowed.

Gotta wait until tomorrow for Notre Dame v. Georgia.

Yup
OSU came to win. So far Oregon, not so much.
I don't see Oregon being shut out, but right now this game could be over by early Q3.
Ohio is playing violent today.
Sugar Bowl now scheduled to start at 4:00 EST, or 3:00 Central according to NBC News.
The Sugar Bowl moved ahead the start time for the previously postponed bowl game to Thursday at 4 p.m. ET following the deadly attack in New Orleans on Wednesday.
The College Football Playoff quarterfinal game between the University of Georgia and the University of Notre Dame in New Orleans will now start at 4 p.m. ET Thursday at Caesars Superdome, according to a statement from the Sugar Bowl.
Now 31 - 0 OSU with 2nd 1/4 about half over. Oregon fans looked shocked.
