So the question is do you want to win the Super Bowl this year or in 3 years?  If we're going to win a SB and then never again does it matter when it is?

Never say never.

On another note, how many posters does YaYa have blocked besides me and B K?

I have a question for everyone. Would you rather have the team keep winning through the playoffs this season and win the superbowl, but it's Jordan's only time at the superbowl in his career, or would you rather have the Packers not reach the superbowl for the next three years until they win it in that year, but Jordan never gets back to another superbowl in his career?

Probably getting better odds this year for all of us to bet the farm all the way home. There's also some sweet playoff revenge in the pool this year.

Not if Seattle wins out.   And they play Pittsburg at home and then at the Cards. Not looking good for Packers.

The late TD the Seahawks scored against the Eagles will be the killer for the Packers.

No; Joe Barry is the killer for the Packers.

Win out, Rams lose one and the Packers are probably in. The Niners losing last night helps. They are going to have to scrap for the #1 seed and they play the Rams week 18. Won't be able to rest starters.

Speaking of that, let's say they lose to the Vikings. Anything is possible with Joe Barry in the building.

Do you play Love in week 18? I would continue to play him since they need as much evaluation as possible. But maybe at some point in the 2nd half they could throw Clifford out there to see how he handles a backup situation and stay away from any late freak injury to Love.

I would play Love against the Bears for as long as the game outcome is still undetermined.  Play the game to win.  KLeep beating the Bears (and the other divisional foes). If the game significantly tilts one way or the other in the second half, then I'd consider giving Clifford some snaps.  Otherwise, like you mentioned, Love needs to continue to develop/play.

If the Packers win out and  if Rams beat 49ers Rams are 6th and Seattle 7th if they win out and I think they will ( Steelers at home and at Cards. ).  Pack wins out and 49ers beat Rams Seattle is 6th and Pack 7th.

By using ESPN Playoff machine even if Atlanta wins out, Seattle wins out and the 49ers beat the Rams, the Packers are in if they win out.  We want 49es to still have to win in week 18 to get the #1 seed.   If Rams and Seattle win out the Packers are out even if they win their last 2.

Thanks for losing to Giants and Bucs.....Packers.

Says every Ram and Seahawks fan.

Even if the Packers beat just the Giants, they could be controlling their own destiny.

FYI....my buddy says, Packers will beat Vikings only to lose to the Bears. 😭😭😭

Just have a hunch Bears are going to win too.

We'll see what happens tonight!

Happy New Year everyone!!! 🎇🎇🎇

We just don't want to end up in a 2 way tie with Atlanta. Here's what I'd like to see...

Packers win out
Vikings lose out
Bears beat Atlanta today
Rams lose to Niners next week
Steelers beating Seattle would also be nice - would negate the need to have the Rams lose next week

That puts the Vikings and Bears tied for last. Both 2-4 in the division, split head to head. Who finishes in last? If it's the Vikings then the Jets and Rodgers play in Chicago next year.

I said last week the Seahawks getting the win against the Eagles was the killer for the Packers. looks like that may come to pass.

Nah. I mean obviously it would have helped if they lost but the Packers just need to win their last two games and get just a very tiny bit of help. If they don't finish 9-8 they shouldn't be in the playoffs anyway.

The Giants game will be what cost the Packers if they end up 9-8 and the #8 seed.

Well, I sort of agree. But after the Giants loss things could still worked out easier.  They still had to win out but Seattle losing to Philly was a better bet than Seattle losing to Pittsburg or the Cards.  And you could pick any of the 4 points or less losses and said the same thing.

49ers will rest guys because of Philly loss, so the most likely thing to happen is a SEA loss, but both PIT and ARZ stink. Gonna needs lots of luck besides the obvious winning the last two. Defense should be better with a new DC next season, in any event.

Correct me if I'm wrong, please, but if GB wins tonight, doesn't that move them to the #7 seed? Assuming Seattle loses.
Or does Seattle keep it due to better SOS?

Seattle has to lose one of the last two games and Green Bay has to win out.

They could also get in if the Rams lose, but Mason Crosby's miss basically put them in the playoffs because they play the Niners next week. The Niners have already clinched the one seed so they will sit everyone.

Even if they win out, the Packers don't deserve to be in the playoffs after losing to teams like the Raiders, Giants, and Bucs. However, it would be ironic if the Crosby miss is also what keeps them out.

Also, if the Lions had won yesterday, the Niners would have had to play to win next week, so it's possible the officiating snafu on the 2 point conversion yesterday could also keep the Packers out if they did happen to win out.

Having said that, I think the Bears are going to have a field day next week against a Packers defense that has clearly checked out on Joe Barry.

I don't think they deserve to be there, either. But I'd still prefer both remaining games to mean something, just to see how they play with something on the line. It would be nice to win out even if their season ends next week. A playoff berth is icing on the cake this year. I've seen enough this season to know what they have and what they need to change. Considering the roller coaster it's been, the arrow is pointing up going into the offseason.

I hadn't counted on the Packers making the playoffs since the 2 losses to Giants and Bucs. It's nothing short of amazing that they even have a chance at all.
Deserve or not, I'll keep rooting for it to happen. I wouldn't expect them to go past the wild-card round if they do, but still.... stranger things have happened.

If the Packers lose tonight the last game will determine who resides in the NFC Norris cellar! Something will be on the line!
