Watch Peprah on the 2011 Hail Mary against NY in the playoffs. About as far away from brilliant as MD Jennings is. We all got royally screwed by not watching Collins and Burnett play side by side for years. We're not having a fraction of the defensive discussions we've had over the past 3 years if Nick is still playing.

I feel like drinking right now.... Damn I miss Nick Collins.

Yep.  I sorta enjoy the WHY HAVEN'T THEY FOUND THE NEXT NICK COLLINS?! tantrum.  Well, because he was basically on the level of Ed Reed and Polamalu in their primes, that's why.  How many guys like that are even out there?

The very thing he did is the very thing we're seeing too often not being done - he erased the mistakes and blown coverages with his other-worldly speed, instincts and athleticism.  I remember Peyton Manning saying about Collins after tossing him a pick-6 in 2008 something along the line of, "I never ever thought a S existed that could cover that much ground that fast when I threw the ball."

You don't replace Nick Collins.  You try to adjust and move on, and yes, I agree - seeing him forced to retire at 28 was a pretty bitter pill to swallow.

And that's the tough part. Ted absolutely crushed a round 2 pick on a guy that became an automatic pro bowl lock by 2009 with his best football in front of him. Yet Ted gets called out for failing on his defensive picks because, you know, guys like Nick are in every draft when your on the clock...

Not sure why the level of dumb that gets posted here pisses me off so much when last nights mu-shu pork that Ted dropped in the tank this morning has more personnel smarts than the half wits questioning his ability to manage an NFL franchise.

Packer fans are some of the worst in the league.

I used to hate Bills fans and their over-the-top homerism and coming up with cutsey nicknames for every third-string quarterback they sign or turdtacular player who has two good games in a row and then sucks again. Now I find them adorable and harmless. They've been through more as a fan than I have.

Packer fans are a spoiled, miserable lot. Worse than Steelers and Boston fans at this point. Apparently unless you are batting 1.000 there is no place in this franchise for you. Or worse, I guarantee there are people using this opportunity to pine for the good ol' days of Shermy and Favre.

Love this team, hate the 50 drunks in a bar/message board.

What gets to be overwhelming about injuries is their scope and breadth.  It's not just the game-to-game losses (see yesterday or 7 of 9 games this year) of personnel but the season-to-season (Sherrod, Bulaga, Perry, Neal, etc.) and career enders (Collins, Finley?)that have taken a toll on this team.  Can you imagine what this team would look like if we didn't draft as well as we do?  Jacksonville North.

Where are these people who only show up when GB is winning, though?  I'm not saying there aren't any as there are probably a couple, but does that list come anywhere near the length of the goofs who dance all over this place every time anything goes wrong with the GBP, only to completely disappear as soon as the ship is righted?  Just look at the board today and over the past week and compare it to the previous four (actually five with the bye) weeks.  The difference is pretty stark.

I can also tell you definitively that when things go wrong for the GBP, traffic here goes through the roof.

JJSD - Posting on a board (this board) when the team loses is easier to do for negative nellies than it is for the positive pollies during the good times. There's more attention to gain.

If I'm a polly, and I post that AR is great or TT is the best GM, it sorta goes unnoticed.   It gets lost in the wash of all the other positives.  And nobody quotes me, or agrees with me or tells me how astute I am.  Unless, of course, I make some profound statement, etc.  But even then, I'm just a drop of positives in a big bucket of Packer love.

But if I'm a nellie, I can post anything at all, no matter how absurd....and someone is bound to call me out.  And I can get all the attention I need. And I can get into a silly little internet argument with one or more fellow posters.  And for that small slice of time, I'm important.  Posters care what I have to say, no matter how ridiculous it is.  It doesn't matter that it's because of my stupidity or illogical formulation of ideas.  It's only important that someone is paying attention to me.

This is the same reason why I find it a bit annoying when posters like calbuc (and others) post on this forum about the about Bucs (or other teams) and being a fan, blah, blah, blah.  It would be one thing if they were in the same division, or played/will play in the season or are even battling for a post season spot.  But that guy (gal?) posts stuff about the Bucs that has no bearing on anything at all as it pertains to the Packers.  Why?  Because he'll get some attention.  He may be a great guy, but I don't understand his motive if it isn't for selfish reasons.

I used to post "If you build it, they will come.  If you ignore it, they will leave." for nonsensical posters.  But I think some fellow posters are compelled to call out/argue with anything posted, no matter how stupid.

Yep. And thank the maker because folks who didn't follow the Packers then don't know what misery and complaining is. Try living through Barty Smith and Rich Campbell. Poor Lindy Infante got blasted for bringing the players doughnuts.

I think TT will survive. Especially since whats posted here has all the impact of a dog barking at the moon.

I guess it would be better if all posters agreed and all opinions were the same,

Bob....Ain't those Packers great,  they almost overcame all those injuries and bad calls yesterday.

Joe.....Yup, you got to hand it to 'em,  just a few more breaks and the D would have stopped those long, time eating drives at the end of the last couple of games.

Jim.....And how about those reserves that stepped up during this unprecedented injury streak,  we have to be thankful that TT knows how to pick 'em and MM and Dom know how to coach 'em up.

Tim....Can you believe Matt Flynn is back,  how could the QB starved Bills give up on him?

John.....they are freaking idiots,  MM is a QB guru,  look what he did for Harrell , BJ and Seneca. He knows how to coach QB's.

Sally.....how bout all the negative Nancy's on the board today, they sure are not Packer People. I think there should be a rule that only real Packer fans can post.  Who wants to hear that the current team is not doing well, heck we know they are trying real hard.

Vince.....yeah just wait till we crush the Giants next week, they will be gone, not like real Packer people Like us.

Mike.....amen, keep the faith, trust in TT/MM and God Bless the GBP

I don't think anyone is asking for everyone to have the same opinion. But look at the posting activity of some and they post 1-3 times in a week when the Packers are winning, and then post 40 times in a day when they lose.

It could be worse. The Bears lost only because the coaches would not face the fact that after a fast start Cutler was not up to snuff and lost it fast as the game wore on. I cannot believe that the staff and Jay had not talked about scenarios and what to expect if this happened or that happened. The Bears staying with Jay and not playing McCown was a gift to the Lions.

I did not get to watch the Packer's game so I cannot comment except for the fact that it is unfortunate that they did not have a more capable back-up at ;least more ready to play. Last week I think they left the kid gloves on Wallace for too long. This week the same thing happens with the starter and the back-up. The coaching staff really needs to figure out how to remedy the issue of the starter taking 100% of the weeks snaps. It not happening (starter not getting significantly injured) for the majority of the last 20 years is the exception. Not having a contingency plan is no plan. It is wishing and hoping. I am not saying we would not have lost the last two games because losing both your starter and backup in consecutive weeks would be is hard to overcome. It just seems like they were caught with their pants down and keep on tripping over them.

Opinions are cool. Even the hot headed emotional ones as long as they're surrounded by some supporting facts. TT isn't above questioning at all. His handling of the back up QB is fair game. There was  a reasonable argument to be had around Cullen Jenkins. I don't see any need to have any discussion questioning his ability to draft players. Every teams number one priority is to win their division. And no team has selected more players that have gone to pro bowls more often in the North than Ted Thompson since he's been GM in GB.

The knee jerk firings get me every time. Bitching about a flaw with the team (current defense) is fine. But at least try and bring some suggestions about what could be done to help fix it. Questioning Ted for not going after FA's? Fine. But name some names.

Where things get all kinds of effing sideways are the "I told you this team was bad and the last 4 years have been nothing more than smoke and mirrors" from those that masquerade as fans and simply lie in the weeds waiting for a losing streak or playoff loss. They live for losses to prove they knew best. for the life of me I have no idea what kind of a fan you have to be to follow any kind of a sport that way other than your a Sherman holdover and watching Ted fail is the be all end all.

Chili, I have long thought many/most of those you and others refer to are not really Packer fans at all. Rather, they are fans of a rival team only pretending to be Pack fans. There is no need for them to be here when we are doing great and winning as they cannot stir up the ashes then. However, during tough times they come to throw salt into the wound and agitate the real fans in some sort of perverse pleasure for them. JMHO.

If that's how you interpret my post, there's really not much more I can add.
