Defense in general and Daniels specifically. Hard to get a good gauge on the D until they face a better OL.

Offense and AR finally found a rhythm after struggling for most of the game (Seattle defense is really good).

After a rough start I thought Murphy settled in and played reasonably well against tough competition.

-

MM timeouts at the end of the half. Seattle could have ran out the clock regardless and just a dumb decision by MM.

Penalty by Marty reminded me of one Lang had several years ago with much the same fan reaction. People will be less forgiving if and when the result is a loss.

I dunno. Maybe you take that penalty in the 2nd quarter, not when you're almost in FG range trying to ice a game.

GB didn't need points at that point. They needed that first down. Which is why AR went head first. I thought Wright lead with his helmet.

Wright has a long history with this kind of crap with GB. He was ejected years ago for trying to twist Dick Rodgers head clean off using Rodgers face mask. Last year he went head hunting on Dick Rodgers again and was flagged for 15 yards.

I think Bennett was fully aware going after Wright was after the whistle and the first down would stand.

**** Wright and I'm glad someone went after that cocksucker.

When the flag was thrown, they needed either one more 1st down or a FG to ice the game. SEA still had a TO and 3:09 was left on the clock when that play was run. The penalty put the offense back at their own 46, instantly removing them from the edge of FG range. The game was still in doubt. If the Packers hadn't gained another 1st down after that penalty, Seattle would have gotten the ball back with plenty of time to tie the game.

The penalty absolutely could have hurt them, but it's to Bennett's credit that he was the one who got the first down that iced the game a few plays later.

Give credit to Seattle, they lulled our players into thinking they would just run out the clock and go to the lockerroom. The D got complacent and Seattle took advantage. It looked like Dix was peaking into the backfield too long and couldn't get over the top fast enough. I think Rollins (maybe someone else?) had the underneath coverage and Dix was supposed to be there.

Either way though, the D kept them out of the end zone for 4 quarters. There things to clean up: tackling, taking bad angles, discipline from Safeties, etc. Points are all that matters though, we can give up 700 passing yards and 300 rushing yards for all I care, as long as the other team stays out of the end zone then that's all fluff. Give Rodgers a chance and he will succeed.

with exception of Seattle scoring drive before the half that's the best D and pass rush we've in a number of games.  Daniels in particular was a monster.

Monty, Cobb, and Jordy looked in midseason form.

Bennett and Kendricks made some big plays and I think will have a major impact this year on 3rd downs.

----

OL was shaky at times but the Seattle front 7 might be the best they see all year.  Need to get that fixed.

Rodgers seemed to be holding onto the ball more than normal.  Thankfully it didn't cost them but I do not like seeing him take so many hits.

Hated the defensive series right before the half.

Overall, 1-0 and that's excellent heading into ATL.

Positive:

I didn't hear Kevin King's name being called all game, except on a solid hit and break up of a would be TD that King and HHCD pushed the Seattle WR out of bounds making it an incomplete pass. When rookie CB's names aren't being called, that's usually a very good thing.

Randall also will a solid game today. Just maybe it was his health last season that had him playing like sh**. Now healthy, he looks like a much more confident player.

TJ Watt, 2 sacks and 1 Int in game 1

The Steeler's as a team racked up 7 sacks, including even CB Joe Haden who got one, a stupid amount of QB pressures and hurries because the Browns OL played horribly. They made Seattle's OL look competent.

So before we put TJ Watt in the Pro Bowl and make him rookie of year, let's temper his performance just a tad. They won't be playing the Browns OL every week.

+ The Seahawks are a bunch of bozos and any time the Pack beats them, it feels like a sense of relief.

- I still feel the pain of the 2014 NFC title game loss, and still don't feel quite vindicated even though the Pack has won the last 3 vs. the Hags.

- I hope Bulaga is back for the next game.  Kyle Murphy is going to have a much tougher time on a fast track on the road dealing with crowd noise and a fast defense.  Murphy did adequately in this game, but I pray he isn't starting vs. the Falcons as they open their new stadium.

Murphy played 8 snaps last year.   So after the game here is what he said;

β€œIt was pretty exciting; I’m not going to lie,” said Murphy of his first NFL start. β€œAll of the scores were pretty fun to be a part of, but something like that (free play), that’s kind of unexpected. Once we get the ball snapped you already know it’s a positive play and then to make it, to get that cherry on top and get the touchdown is that much sweeter. I can’t say enough how fun it was to be out there for that play and plenty of others.”

Relax.  This guy is going to grow into a NFL tackle with that kind of attitude!

+++ Daniels is a beast! Perry played well, too! Our D Line spent a lot of time with Wilson. Kyle Murphy filled in well for Bulaga, He needs some work, yet, but he will be solid for us. Jordy! Cobb looked like he was having fun in his best game in years. Fackrell recovers Wilson's fumble and added pressure on Wilson in other snaps. Not too bad for a guy everyone wanted to cut.  Montgomery played well against one of the best run defenses in the league. Bahk, Taylor and Linsley were okay.  Vogel's punting was solid. A 57 yarder amongst his punts. Packers' ability to move the chains on Seattle. The feeling that our Defense out played Seattle's Defense all game long.

--- Linsley's bad snap to Rodgers could have been worse than it turned out. Rodgers getting "injured." He said his feet were being stepped on and his shins were getting kicked all game. J. Evans getting beat enough to notice. Davis not trying to catch some punts. Maybe he was told to do that against Seattle's special teams gunners. Rodgers looked out of sorts early in the game. Kind of like he didn't want to be there. Fackrell missing a tackle on special teams coverage. Not too good for a guy many wanted to cut from the roster.  Not covering the right side of Seattle's O line allowed several big plays to occur. Wilson's ability to run  the ball. A. Brooks concussion. Hope he is okay.

Rarely heard the Packers safeties / corner-backs mentioned. Huge game from the front 7.

Pretty happy with that.  Burnett and Rollins actually seemed like the weak point yesterday but you aren't going to shut them down entirely all game even if you do stupid **** like play aggressive defense because that's ****ing stupid.

Here's to hoping Rollins isn't a pre-season superman.

4th qtr. 14-9 GB. 9:49 remaining. 2nd and 10. Clock stopped. Ty on the sideline getting his foot looked at.

Williams gets the handoff, puts a foot in the ground and greases through a hole behind Taylor for 7 yards against a seven man front to the Seattle 26. Sets up a manageable 3rd and 3. AR hits Jordy for 5 on next play. Fresh set of downs.

Williams is only going to get better but that was impressive. Coming off the bench like that in the 4th and finding that hole and pushing for seven yards on just his second carry of the game.

I was so impressed with this, and this is what I saw from him in TC.

Love victory Monday! Someone always had their cheerios pissed in.

I'm not going to get too high on our DL and not too low on our OL.  That's probably the best front 7 in football after they traded for Sheldon Richardson and in game 1, all were healthy.   Lost in it though were plenty of drop backs where Rodgers had 3-4 seconds in the pocket but no one was open.  Against the best DL in football when we're down our second best lineman, this is about what I expected.

And on the DL, they looked amazing.  Daniels and Perry look like a two man wrecking crew.  If they were playing a less mobile QB, they get double digit sacks.  But the Seattle OL is also the worst in the league and has been for years.  Not one of their OL could crack our starting lineup (including Murphy).  So great start but hard to project the future performance of the front 7 knowing they will only play better o-lines going forward.

Great win.  Very fun watching the defense play as well as they did.

Maybe in years.

I hope how they looked is early season and mid season will be lights out from them

Always liked what Bennet brings to an offense, always wished he was a Packers, I never knew much about Kendricks. Really liked what I saw from the position in this game. That TE "screen" to Bennet was a beautiful play

Also agree with all of this. But, it was Seattle's d-line and Rodgers will always be Rodgers.

Reporter to Earl Thomas after the game,

Thomas,

"Man. It's been that way for eight years. You want to put it on us then put it on us. It isn't new"

Probably the difference in the game. Seattle was gassed by the end of the 3rd:

"Green Bay dominated the time of possession, holding the ball for 39:13 to the Seahawks’ 20:47."
