Here's the skinny on a Packers' hero Allen Lazard: He had four catches for 65 yard and a TD, all in the fourth quarter. Before tonight, Lazard had never caught a pass from Aaron Rodgers in the regular season until his 35-yard TD. Lazard had one career catch entering the night, thrown by DeShone Kizer in 2018. Lazard played 19 snaps in the first five games this season.

Game balls to Lewis and Lazard- they made all the key catches in the 4th Q. Another game ball to Williams who had the wherewithal to go down when the Lions were trying to get the ball back with more time.

Lions have to feel sick, but kiss my ass. The Packers have been on the receiving end of plenty of these. They got all the calls (and non-calls) early, Packers got ‘em late.

5 of 6 coming up on the road... got a big one tonight.

+ win at home against division rival.

- this new age of football where we all freak out about refereeing. This is taking the fun out of watching the game.  Life is not perfect and a game is never won or lost because of a missed call.  I think games should be played, then when it's over send the tape to some AI robot to review the film and then issue the correct score. 🙄

Positives:  3-0 in toughest division in football; Rodger's found a way to win with a lot of scrub wr's.; one exception was Lazard.  Jamal Williams played a great game coming off that vicious hit.

Negatives:  Way too thin at WR.  Outside of Adams, MVS and maybe Lazard, the rest are borderline pros.  Hard to think we agonized near cutdown day about which "great" wr we would have to cut and see him picked up by another team.   Gutsy has to take a look at Sanu or Sanders....cripes, even Dez Bryant. Graham is toast, can't run, can't block and he shouldn't be playing more snaps than Tonyan.  Saw somewhere that OJ Howard might be on block.

Pos

  • Lazzard stepped up.   The other guys played scared.  Sheppard, Jesus, Gmo.   Lazzard embraced the moment and just leap frogged up the depth chart to #3.
  • Defense holding Lions to FG time and time again.   A couple big sacks from Smith bros again.
  • Run defense was much improved.  Dean Lowry actually played really well.
  • Huge team win to overcome -3 turnover difference.  That doesn’t happen often in the NFL.
  • For once we are on the right end of the officials totally fucking up.   We deserve it.
  • 3-0 vs the Division.  We are in the drivers seat.
  • 2-0 without Devante.   Team keeps finding a way. All this adversity will pay dividends later in the year.
  • MLF clock management.   End of half and end of game.  What a breath of fresh air compared to MM constantly fucking that up.

Neg

  • Return and Coverage units have been shit all year.  Not impressed with these units at all.
  • Sheppard and Gmo both were horrible tonight.
  • King got touched over and over again.

Over and over again?

He was on the bad end of the flea-flicker, and the 2nd long throw. After that the DET passing game was nothing special. I actually think King had a solid game overall.

The flea-flicker was a good call to start the game, but to me it also said "we need to get up early". They did, but they needed TDs, not FGs.

Pos: the way MLF called the last six-minute drive—never would have seen that patience and mix of plays from the previous guy. + Rodgers staying patient and within the system; he didn’t try to do too much. + Lizard needs to see more action—a lot more! Loved him trying to truck the CB. + Williams. Dude can play. + Smert coaching to tell Williams to get down... whoever told him. Or, if he did it himself, smert player. Countered Patricia’s move to let him score perfectly. Again, gotta wonder if MM would have been that aware. + D came back strong.

Negs: Jones. Trying too hard for family? Probably, but almost cost the game. Then he got too careful and was ineffective. —Shepard. What the heck kind of catch was that on a punt?

It’s a win, and Lions look a lot better. I will root for them Sunday night!

To all those fuktards saying, "Rodgers can't come from behind":

Rodgers is 5-4 at home when down 13 points. The rest of the NFL has a winning percentage of .089 in the same situation. So, suck it.

+ The headline: Packers found a way to win against a tough divisional opponent with an injury depleted roster. The rest is just fine print.

+ David Bakhtiari has a future as an actor after tonight's performance. Flowers' tears made me smile ear to ear.

- Lions fans that have been talking crap for the last few months "Lions have won 5 in a row against the Pack" can EAD. It's a little different when Aaron Rodgers plays, and plays the whole game, isn't it?

Oh wait, that's another +

- Allison can't hold on to the ball.

- King got torched in the first half.

We're 5-1, in the driver's seat in the toughest division in football, and Minny and Detroit play each other, meaning one rival takes another step backwards.
