I can't believe all the hand-wringing about clocks reaching zero.  They got called the 2nd time when it was blatant and we won the damn game.  We've also benefited from the ~1s delay many times given how long Rodgers waits to snap the ball.

People, it is the rule. Every team gets an extra second to snap the ball. It affects all teams equally. Let it go.

+ We got another 87.   Kid is going to be good.

Negs

- Zebras.  Besides the Jones fumble, the biggest momentum turning point was the BS running into the punter call.

- MLF not comprehending that you cannot run wide against those LBs.  How many times are you going to pound your head against the wall dude?  It ain’t happening.

- Coaches insistence on playing Newman and Hanson.   Put your best 5 out there.

I'll echo this and throw in the best game we have seen from ST's since... I don't even know?? Probably back when we had Jarret Bush.

Only negative to add is the groin injury.

Top 5 offense

1. WR Randall Cobb: 81.3
2. WR Romeo Doubs: 74.8
3. QB Aaron Rodgers: 70.3
4. WR Allen Lazard: 69.1
5. TE Tyler Davis: 68.4

Bottom 5 offense

1. LG Jon Runyan Jr: 46.5
2. LT Yosh Nijman: 53.0
3. RB A.J. Dillon: 54.1
4. WR Juwann Winfree: 54.5
5. TE Josiah Deguara: 54.5

Top 5 defense

1. DL Kenny Clark: 87.4
2. CB Eric Stokes: 75.9
3. CB Rasul Douglas: 75.3
4. DL Dean Lowry: 71.5
5. OLB Rashan Gary: 67.5

Bottom 5 defense

1. LB Quay Walker: 36.3 (Wow, did not see that coming)
2. OLB Jonathan Garvin: 45.9
3. S Darnell Savage: 51.8
4. OLB Preston Smith: 55.7
5. CB Keisean Nixon: 55.8

Really bad day for the refs. Horrible running into the kicker call changed the game.

F'ing embarrassing. I hope the Packers sent this to the league office and the league talks to the ref who has that as one of his prime duties, the other is protecting the QB from late hits. Missing that means he didn't care.

In re-watching parts of yesterday’s game, was struck by how quickly Bakhtiari gets into his pass-pro set, a trademark of his game before the injury. He’s one hell of a player and proof that you don’t need to be a dominant physical specimen like Trent Williams or Tyron Smith to be great. Incredible technique.

Technically when the play clock hits 0:00 there is still 0:00:99 milliseconds before the clock would actually expire causing delay of game. That’s why there has always been that ~1 second grace period and the touchdown was not delay of game but the 2PA was. If they wanted to be exacting on time they should add milliseconds to all game clocks, or at least have the play clock go to -1 to signal delay of game.

But not 1 positive thing to say about the team.

@NumberThree posted:

When the play clock is reset to 00:40:00 seconds and begins to count down to zero, the 40th second is the period of time between 00:39:01 to 00:40:00 because the play clock does not start at 00:40:99. That equates to the final second occurring between 00:00:00 to 00:00:99.

You can see an easy representation of this here by setting the time to 40 (or just use the Quick Set 30 second timer): https://time-stuff.com/timer.html

Sorry, nope. The mechanics behind the 'extra second' have already been explained multiple times. But you can't just take a timer with milliseconds (btw earlier you labeled hundredths of a second as milliseconds in your examples) and declare that clocks that only show to the second are doing the same thing behind the scenes. To prove your idea you'd actually need to show that 0 milliseconds in that case somehow means 0 millisecond + invisible fraction of a millisecond.

If you could actually see the instant they start the clock at 40, you'd see the count remain at 40 for a second, it would not instantly read 39 (w/ invisible change).

But to prove the point, outside of maybe 'untimed downs' due to penalties or PAT or whatever, you've never seen a game continue with 00:00 on the game clock. If it were 00:00 plus your invisible fraction that would be a common occurrence. Because 0 is 0.

+They got a win that I didn't think they were going to get.  I expected 1-2 right now so 2-1 is a big positive.

-The defense on that last drive.

-The offense after that Jones fumble.

Anyone else concerned that this is becoming a pattern?  Offense comes out on fire then becomes totally incompetent?  This was the 49ers playoff game last year minus the special teams disasters.

Quay Walker. Had some good plays. Had some bad plays -- pretty much what you expect from a highly drafted rook. Has some work to do and perfect teaching opportunity for coaches.

Get the win and still have things to work on.

I still can't believe they won scoring zero in 2nd half. 😆

That's the Aaron Rodgers I know and love, throwing a momentum-swinging interception, then motioning at the receiver that he ran the wrong route.

😖

LMFAO 😆

The guy has the best TD/INT ratio in NFL history - The only other player in the conversation is Brady.

I think Skip has gotten Rodgers confused with Favre in his old age

I'll say again:

+after being one of the worst tackling teams in the league through two weeks, the D finally showed up and were sure and physical with their hits.  Quay already starting to make splash plays.

+the secondary not falling apart after 23 went down.  could Nixon be another Rasul that just needed the right opportunity?

and add:

+I don't know what kind of "illness" Cobb had last week but whatever it was worked like the fountain of youth.  He was damn near electric on his RAC's and looked at least 5 years younger.  Quick, decisive and physical!

Can we talk about how terrible this pass was in the biggest situation in the game

Anyone besides Brady gets the delay and throws this pass and the football world would be calling for the backup QB

Brady locking in a Gage when some other guy must have been open because we could see it after the throw was made.

Agree on #2 whole heartedly.  It must be harder to find a returner than we think.  I would hope the Packers have been looking to improve their.  He's a wildcard when the ball comes to him, and just never makes smart decisions.  I feel the same about Love and his draft position.

#3 - What does Newman have that allows him to blackmail his way onto the starting lineup?  It's clear, at least to most of us outside observers, he doesn't belong in the top five yet he keeps getting a starting spot.  I'm not sure the Packers are confident with Nijman at RT, but then start Tom at RG.  Or hell, give Caleb Jones a shot at RG.  Getting tired of seeing Newman get trucked.

Where is Roell Preston when you need him?  And Newman must have found the photos that Jarret Bush used a decade ago.
