Pollies:

Starks. If he could only stay healthy. Hell of a game. Played with a chip on his shoulder.

Rodgers. What else is new

James Jones. Career game.

Nellies:

Lacy hurt. Hope he's back soon.

Ref's suck the biggest suck.

Cobb career game. Rodgers was Rodgers. OL opened some holes. Broke to RB 100yd drought.

Neg.... if I had to pick anything, second week in a row GB opened the second half with a 3 and out. But whatever.... that was complete domination.

Positives:

Rodgers

Starks

Offensive line after 1st quarter

First half defense

Negatives:

OL in first quarter

Defense in the second half was pitiful, don't care if they were way ahead. They need to play better even if they still don't have Burnett and Hayward.

Lacy's concussion

Refs, particularly that reversal on that TD

I've been pretty hard on Starks for a long time now, but he showed up today.  He hits the holes hard and fast.  More instinctual running than we've seen in a long time.  I'll shut up about the kid if he keeps this up.   That or EDS stepped up his games so much that anyone could get a 10 yard gain.

On the other hand, AJ Hawk sucks.  Missed tackles, always playing behind the ball, same thing every week.  I swear on some of those plays, after the snap he looks for a guy to block him.  Mike Neal is better at forcing a turnover than Hawk.

Finely played well, even saw him throw a block.   In fact, watch all the receivers, they desperately want each other to get YAC and will block like few receiving corps I've seen.

Rodgers failed to get another 4th quarter come back.

I would like to emphasize the Starks point.  He certainly DID look like he was running with a chip on his shoulder.  I like it.

Though I am sad we didn't get to see Lacy.  Some of those runs James almost broke, you know Eddie would have... Starks just doesn't have that extra bit of slippery to be elite.  But he can be extremely effective when he is properly motivated.

I can't add anything else.  That is a perfect list.

Capers and his D also has this read option figured out. Naysayers will say RGIII's knee wouldn't allow him to do it but plenty of film from week 1 told Shanny to not even try it.

Defense and that front 3 (Grease, Jolly, Raji) another outstanding performance.

Positives:

Packers win!
Rodgers!
Jordy Nelson!
Crosby didn't miss a FG

Negatives:

No TD for Ryan Taylor
No pick-six for Raji
Chicago won

More realistic negatives:

Sacks, especially on the first drive
One garbage time TD is understandable, but three is irritating
Lacy's injury

Rodgers just gave a "shout out to the training staff". Per interview with Pam Oliver had a "crook in my neck this morning", did their wonders and set a passing record.

Damn ewe training staff!!!

That was a soft zone the whole way.  Yeah, I don't like that they left off the gas a little earlier but I'm sure not getting worked up over a blow out zone scheme.

Really hoping that they're the missing pieces. Front seven still needs to do a better job of getting after the QB, though.

Positives were the offense is unstoppable when they are clicking. Nice play calling by McCarthy and AR is the best in the game.

Negatives were the Redskins helmet tackles. Also, the defense played soft in the second half and they need to force more turnovers. No Buffone/OB today after the Bears comeback.

Nice comfortable win though and Skippy will be making excuses for RG3 tomorrow.

Sam Shields has really stepped up his game over the past year and 2 games.  In 2011, he was awful, absolutely did not want to tackle anyone.  Last year he put that aside and became a much better tackler.  Through 2 games so far, he's not just tackling well, he seems to actually be a physical DB.

Kudos to Sam!

+

AR Just another (excellent) day at the office.

WRs Thought they all played very well. Best starting group in the league. Greg who?

Starks Ran hard and with purpose

Shields Best cover corner and having a nice year.

Daniels and Perry Both did some nice things and gave good effort.

Injuries

Positives

  1. Haslett shaking his head
  2. Mike "Real Deal" NEAL!!
  3. Aaron Rodgers WITH AUTHORITY!! In front of his protege' RG3

Negatives

  1. Lacy injured
  2. O-Line needs to do much better
  3. Referees. C'mon SON! Call it like it happens on the field!!

Really surprised by Neal's mobility.  Don't want to depend on him for coverage on a regular basis but he was really active today.   Big boy like that rushing standing up is bringing the heat.

Positive:

Rodgers survived the early OL blocking whiffs.

When it mattered the defense was real solid.

Negative:

Lacy's injury. Hopefully it is very mild.

Should've put up more points in the 2nd half. Well  I had to put up something else.

Sick.

And how many of those INT were not his fault? Like the one tip from Finley last week? There have to be 3-4 in that category.

I'll take it a step further. It looked like the 2011 passing game, combined with the 2009 running game and the 2010 defense. If they can keep this up until the secondary gets healthy, watch out.
