+ Mason Crosby is money.

+ Aaron Jones

+ Defense overall played fairly well. They won the game tonight.

- The offensive line. Michael Irvin just had a dig on the NFL Network about how Rodgers cracks when pressure gets to him. He got sacked 5 times tonight. Receivers dropped passes. Blocks were missed.

- Aaron was not happy in the post game interview, and rightfully so.

- Steve Smith said it. The Packers lacked intensity in the second half. They went on cruise control. Bingo. You don’t stop playing until the clock reads zero. These guys make entirely too much money to just jog through the second half.

- This team looked very average against a pretty bad team.

Wayne said they only had 49 yards of offense in the second half. Regardless of the number, it was a completely unacceptable offensive performance.  Real positive is that it's still a win and they remain in control for the top seed.

Paws- a W, run game, Mason, 23, 31, the fact that I found an online stream to watch

Negs- Offense disappeared after looking very good early, pass blocking, couple awful drops, 52 and 55 hurt, play calling

+ It's a win

+ I want to personally thank the ref that didn't call pass interference on Kirksey on one of Bridgwater's final passes.  That could have easily been called against him.

- What the hell was Kirksey doing being the final line of defense on that deep pass by Bridgewater near the end of the Panthers final possession?  What the hell was Pettine thinking on that play?  That was very close to being a disaster.

- The WRs had a bad night tonight.  They play like this in any of the playoff games they are in and the Pack will be in for an early exit.  This team isn't good enough to win if the offense plays that crappy against any playoff level team.

Another negative was the special teams coaching on the last kick off return.

2:04 at the kickoff. If you field it and run it out the clock goes to something like 1:58. You run a play on 1st down and get it down to about 1:52. They call their last timeout. Then you run another 6 seconds with the next play and run another 40 seconds after that. You are then down to 1:06 at the next snap. Run another play and you take another 46 seconds off. There are now 20 seconds left. A punt takes 8-10 seconds off. 10 seconds left when they get the ball back. Instead they had 55 seconds.

This. Ok I know many posters defend Pettine saying he has crap for talent: but why he never used a spy on Bridgewater time after time was a joke. Ridiculous

This. Smegma has no brain

Yep, Kirksey in coverage vs a very fast WR smacks of having P Smith in deep coverage vs a WR recently. Really effing stupid, it shouldn’t have happened once, now it’s happened twice. And great point about Smegma not instructing a return to get to the 2 minute warning. Any average coach would be on the ball with this type of situation. Those two coordinators keep reinforcing the argument that they are not adding value to the team.

Pack would be 7-7 or 8-6 without Crosby

My Bear Fan Friend said to me.... "You're welcome for Adrian Amos."

PLUS

They won. At the end of the end style points don't matter.

Mason Crosby

1H offense

Defense played well

MINUS

ST continues to be a problem

They get in this sleep walking mode more often than I'd like to see.

OL didn't do a great job

Without seeing All 22 its hard to know for sure, but felt like no WRs were getting much, if any, separation all night.

Positive:

Nice to have an A.J. Dillon sighting, and that was a nice run.  Let’s start seeing more of him.

Krys Barnes and K.Martin.

Negative:

The Kirksey experiment is a failure.  Let’s face it.

They have to be saving Tavon Austin & Dillon for the playoffs....Right?? Right?!?!?!

Don't want to put anything on tape. It's the only thing I can figure out.

Special Teams are a friggin disaster. I hold my breath more on kickoffs than when Favre would go full gunslinger mode.

As I look at the NFC....The Pack CAN get to the big show. So can about 4 other teams (Rams, Saints, Seahawks, Bucs)

POS

I wish we could've seen the Saints, Bucs, Rams & Hawks all cheering for the Panthers tonight.

But the kick landed out of the back of the end zone. No way to return that.

I don’t think it’s panic time because the offense lost its edge after going up 21-3. It was clearly an execution thing. There was always one thing that was the difference between success and failure. You could see the frustration on Rodgers’ face every time they showed him after another failed play. Missed blocks, drops, blown plays, poor technique, shit throws... this is not what we saw the last few weeks.

And that’s all correctable. We’ve seen that. Now they blew it and they know what tgat feels like.

Gameballs to the Packer secondary. They had a very good night. Pass rush was good at times. OL was dominant early, but Carolina made sone adjustments and started going after Patrick and it turned the tide. It would be worth some angst if this would have cost them the #1 seed or something. But it didn’t. The professionals know they need better across the board.

+ The defense played more than well enough to win. Moving Kirksey to the Will and playing Martin / Barnes at the Mike have made the defense better

+ DBs with a number of pass deflections, especially Amos

+ Run game was good vs. a defense that was playing "pass"

- Lafeur said in his presser during the week that Panthers gave more defensive looks than any defense we have played and it "taxed you to have answers for each" We obviously did not have answers to the adjustments they made in second half. It was more than just us "not executing". The only "easy" play we had in second half was the "pick" play to Lazard.

- No motion, no moving the pocket, obviously our staff felt this would not be effective vs. this defense, but I was expecting after 3-4 straight punts that it may be tried.

- I don't think King is doing anything to earn a second contract.

Agree with the assessment of most that the defense did play better, but think a lot of it was Teddy Bridgewater. Missed quite a few throws and his critical mistake at the goal line changed the game.

Just listened to AR's presser .... " there were some coverage sacks, didn't have guys open on time in progression like we have been". Combo of execution (Lazard & Adam's drops / Tonyan missed block, etc.) and their DC confusing our offense. Said they have to do a better job of getting Adams the ball when teams try to make it a point of taking him away .... said "there are ways to do it"

I thought it was just deep, so maybe I just saw it go over his head and was irritated he wasn’t returning it. I’ll have to look up the specific rules too. If it’s 5 yards deep and you field it and run around in the end zone does the clock run or does the clock only start when you cross the goal line?

+ 31,33, 1st half for the team, batting passing, db's deflecting passes

+ seeing some 1st stringers on ST

- 2nd half, dropped passes, OL, 69

I said it in the wrong thread, burns and chinn put an absolute clinic on, that team will be real good in a couple years...wow.  if burns was in place of gary, holy smokes, he would be wrecking games.  We won, this is the endgame...it was ugly.

NEG -- Dropped passes - (4 total), 2 by Adams, 1 by 🦎🦎🦎 & 1 by Jones

https://www.espn.com/blog/gree...comes-next-vs-titans

2nd in the league now behind the Steelers with dropped passes. That Lazard one really hurt because they could've scored 3 just before half.

Burns is decent....but he looked like Reggie White last night. I think that's a combo of Burns playing great & the Packer O-Line having a rough day at the office.

Silverstein posted that LeFluer and Rodgers got away from the running game and that's worriesome.. I couldn't open the article (not a subscriber)  but they did go away from it..

All true....but this offense needs to play better for a full 60 minutes.

Unless they were trying not to put shit on tape.

Rodgers did say their DC confused the offense.

Lots to work on. Good news is they came out with a win & zero major injuries.

What happened with Gary? Sprained a pinky toe?

2 games left to get to #1.  Now that everyone is involved, not just MVS, they have a shot.

I agree with you Boris... As Austin gets more comfortable in this offense, we're going to see more and more of him in different roles...

Well....they played like shit in the 2nd half.

Can't play 25 minutes of football & expect to beat good teams in the playoffs.

Maybe they're just saving themselves.

Interviews after the game were much the same as. Jacksonville. They know what needs to be done. The question is...

Can they do it when it counts?

If Saints beat KC, Packers can't lose if they want that bye.

I think bye is a gigantic advantage because it's one less game to play.

It seems to be an emerging trend for this  MLF coached team.  Playing to the level of the competition.  It was the same last year.  Up and down, inconsistent performances.  MVS fits right in!  This is a first world problem of course but the bar is raised and everyone is keyed in on a ring.  We're all aware they're in position for the 1 seed but we also know this inconsistency can get them bounced in the playoffs.
