Arod on fire
Love me some Cobb
Hayward is a beast
Bush killed ST's
Bulaga pwned Long
Nelson is the best WR in GB
Kuhn just gets the job done every damn play
House picked up where he left off pre-injury
2nd half energy

-

Throwing on 3rd and short all the time
Opening field tackling is bad
Tramon didn't cover well today
Crosby. Come on man!!
+ The O in general
+ I agree, the gameplan was nice today.

- agree to the pussification, yet another play where a formerly good hit cost us a bit.
- Lapses by OL. They were in general decent, but they still have 'moments' at wrong times.

As far as Green goes, I really won't fuss about him, he really seems decent if not good. Lots of time the OL didn't get the push for him to make a good cut, then he slips on one where it was wide open.... but I still love the potential

Few injuries (known of)
Rogers
WRs
No turnovers
Creative play calling
Few penalties
Special teams play
Kuhn
Cobb

-
Consistent intensity on the defensive
Defense couldn't get off the field in the first half
Run defense
Running game, YPC
Tackling at times was suspect
Crosby's long kick attempt, is there something wrong with him?
Pass blocking, especially Newhouse
McCarthy has used more short-yardage plays to get things into a rhythm, and just enough running game to keep them honest. I am glad he has made these adjustments. It's really unleashed their advantages when they spread things out- the big plays are there, but you can't gear the whole offense to it. And the one part of the team that probably appreciates it the most is the defense. They rested most of the second half.

I am a little concerned about the LBs, though- they had an OK game. All the injuries could really catch up to them.

> Rodgers - Belly Fire Index off the charts
> Nelson
> Cobb - Rodgers knows it, MM knows it, TT knows it, Greg Jennings knows it
> Newhouse - let up that one sack to Quinn but thought he did well against one hell of a pass rusher
> Hayward - steal
> 2 wins in a row

> Lang - got destroyed by Brockers a couple times
> Bulaga - held up okay against a good rusher in Long but the penalties killed
Not too worried about the yards allowed today. Lots of guys will be back soon enough to to turn a good defense into a great defense. The fact that the sacks keep coming is more worrisome, but I'm not even concerned about that so much now. Rodgers wasn't able to move around as well as he normally can. I'm thinking if not for the calf injury, he avoids 1-2 of those sacks.
+Everything about the passing offense
+Everything about the pass defense
+MM's playcalling was about perfect. Good run/pass balance and good job laying off the deep passes. Those slants were there all day and he took advantage of it.
+Special teams. MM continues to call the right trick play at the right time. 3 for 3.

-Run blocking. It's almost unbelievable how bad these 5 guys are at run blocking. Green may not be great, but it's embarrassing how little this o-line gives him.
-Run defense. Smith, Raji and Perry being out was clearly an issue, as their replacements were very poor in the run game. I think this game shows that Perry, not Walden, is the answer at LOLB. And Smith was better in run defense than we thought (but Jones was much better in pass defense)
-Crosby. Not even close on that try before the half. He does not look good right now.
Didn't see the game but looking at the stats....Green with 20 carries for a total of 35 yards and his longest run was 15 yards. SO....19 carries for 20 yards? Wow. Is Benson that much better or is the O-line awful? Same O-line that Benson had too. Benson usually gets the yards up the middle and maybe Green is more of an outside runner so interior blocking that much better? And, what happened to Starks? No carries? Was he active?

I don't blame Green for today. I doubt Benson could have done much more (and would have offered much less than Green in the passing game). The O-line was flat out awful in run blocking, and that has to be fixed.

You also used to bitch about Slowdum but now our ST's unit is a bright spot. Hush.

Slodum turned that unit around with two less years than Campen's been in charge of his group. I'm sure Campy's a good guy and all but this O-Line has been a weak link for too long, especially with the talent that's assembled there.

...the ZBS can be effective when you have someone who can teach it, but it does not appear that we do...first play of the Texans game we ran a trap, I'd sure like to see more of them, ala the SF running scheme.
Offensive line doesn't run block consistently or very well, but Benson would add a yard or two on his own to every carry. Benson was not going to hit the home run, but he didn't get stopped for losses or no gain as many times as Green does. Green just seems to be more the 3rd down back, catching out of the backfield and an occasional explosive play when carrying it.
