I would like to hear how Josh Meyers is doing.  Why the silence on that?  Last we heard, there was relief the knee wasn’t  as bad as suspected.  That was a long time ago, and no word since.

It would be good to have him back, but having Patrick with his nasty fucking attitude was good today. He had Donald not happy several times today. When that happens Donald is less effective.

+++ Time of Possession - Packers possessed the ball almost 40 minutes

+++ Preston - was disruptive in the passing game again

+++ LB Crew - they just seem fast to the ball and tackle well

+++ EQS - had some really nice STs play on a unit that is pretty bad

+

MLF  Continues to not get the credit he deserves from the national media.

OL Really like it when Donald gets frustrated.

Defense Huge play from Gary and he's becoming a field-tilter.

Dillon Not gaudy stats but ran hard and got the tough yards.

Douglas

Appears Rams may have traded the wrong punter.

-

Inexcusable lack of ball security from Mercedes Lewis

Too early and too many possessions left to go for two.

Good job from defense but two long passes and two dropped picks were frustrating.

Muff by Cobb and another missed FG.

Late struggles by offense when they could have closed the door completely.

I think MLF had an excellent game plan that was (mostly) executed very well. The TOP advantage absolutely killed the Rams defense, and certainly limited their chances on offense.
The preparation by the unit coaches and players was outstanding. I'm convinced Douglas got his INT as a result of film study. I was expecting the OL to struggle mightily, but no such thing happened. It was a struggle, but they more than held their own. Then dominated the last 20 minutes or so of the game.

This defense is making me a believer. I keep expecting them to get an 'comeuppance' (even though they've done nothing wrong) just from the sheer number of injuries. But their determination and effort doesn't waver, and they are beating some damn good teams.
And I think it's about time Stokes gets some consideration for Rookie DPOY.

Move him to RG and Newman to the bench which gets our remaining best 5 on the field.

Positives:

As others have said give the OL coach a huge freaking raise NOW

MLF can flat out coach.  He is keeping things together even with all of these injuries.  I also don't think he is getting the credit he deserves

Defense!  damn I love it when they play good defense

An NFC win and we swept the NFCW.

Negatives:  Special teams. Ooof what more can be said?  I hate to speculate on anything but I wonder if Crosby is ok mentally?

That was the run that got me out of my seat.  That one and the one where he catches the ball in the flat, makes the first guy completely whiff, then heads up the sideline to pound a couple more guys.  Another where he trucks a couple guys to get into the EZ.  Can't like it enough.

I for the life of me can’t figure out this surgery on his pinkie toe. I I’ve been a podiatrist for 20 years and have never seen a toe fracture that needs surgery granted I don’t have professional athletes as patients.

How many real Drs. do we have on this board>?  This might be the smartest message board in the NFL.

I almost never have the volume on when watching games Aikman and Buck  are like two gay cheerleaders at a fashion show so I did not hear the Earl Campell comparison until now but I immediately thought of Jimmy Taylor in my childhood just trucking linebackers and his seeking contact and breaking the will of defenders late in the game!

I was also pretty impressed with Nijmen  yesterday - I thought early on (SF game) as a fill in there was a lot of chip help but yesterday he seemed to operate in the normal  framework of their offense.  Like most of you I have watched a lot of Packer football in my life and players often remind me of former players and I am starting to see a resemblance  in Yost to Tootie Robbins,  his flashing feet remind me of the of Tooties dancing bear style, also his run blocking - although I do suspect he is a little better than Tootie at that.

I continue to marvel at the ILB play of this team and how much 59 solidified the belly of the D. I just wonder if JAire and Z are back soon how scary the D could really be.

Last I know it was cold and all that but WTF happened to 13.  He had such great hands all last year and now he drops a couple of catchable balls every game!

I am really going to enjoy this bye week and hopefully this team gets healthy and crushes the bears in two weeks!

+++A BIG Win! Rodgers threading the freaking needle! Cobb! ESB! Davante! MVS! Dillon! Hats off to Aaron Jones for playing. Yosh Robot! (Bakh who?) Our whole O line standing up to the vaunted Rams' Defensive front! Amos on that 4th down stop! Stokes! Rasul Douglas! Extend him, please!!! Our defensive front! Gary, Preston, Kenny were all disruptive!Loving me some Joe Barry, now! 5-0 at Lambeau Field! MLF! My son finding a stream with the game! Vikings lose and suddenly their talk of being back in contention ceases to exist! (PRICELESS!!!)

----Cobb getting hurt sucks! Aaron Donald choking Patrick, in front of a ref, with no flag thrown! Savage getting hammered on that onside kick. I hope he is okay. Mason struggling. I pray it is not a family related concern! Listening to Aikman and Buck root for the Rams and to them rationalizing why the refs don't throw more flags. Pathetic! Aikman has a screw, or two, loose.

I was amazed at how much every kick Crosby hit last night wiggled as much as it did from right to left and back.  I heard there was wind but it looked like there was more movement on the ball than that.

Because of the quantity and quality of all the injuries this team has been racking up, I was going to start a separate thread on it to track their status.  Then I realized there would just be a bunch of blank posts.

Seriously, everyone wants to know when/if these guys are nearing a return:

Jaire Alexander

Zadarius Smith

Meyers

Bahktiari

Heard on the innerwebs:

In his future NFL Hall of Fame career, Aaron Rodgers is an incredible 71-1 at Lambeau Field when leading at halftime.

If true, that's fuckin' nuts.

Between last year and this one thus far, I can see 10 more since then.

I for the life of me can’t figure out this surgery on his pinkie toe. I I’ve been a podiatrist for 20 years and have never seen a toe fracture that needs surgery granted I don’t have professional athletes as patients.  If it is the metatarsal I could see needing surgery but not the actual toe.  In Dr Anderson I trust, by far the most prominent foot and ankle surgeon in the country.

I was wondering about that. So there's no such thing as putting a pin in there or anything like that?

+++ Rodgers, Cobb, Davante, entire OL, preview of December Dillon, KC, Gary, Rasul, Amos, Campbell, Barnes. Additional positives, the bye week and maybe getting some Pro Bowl players back on the field for the Bears game. Vikings lose and pretty much seal another division title for the Packers. 5 games left and they look like they can/should win them all. Ravens will be the biggest remaining test.

--- Injury to Cobb, what could have been an ugly injury to Savage. Rodgers was gimpy late in the game. ST's outside of punting looks like it's going to be a problem for the rest of the year and could end up being the difference in a game in Jan/Feb.

Perhaps there will be more discussion next week.
If Z and Alexander were expected back in December, it's here.
I think Bahk had a unexpected setback if an arthroscopy was needed to 'clean it up'. I hope for the best, but it means he will have to be able to practice each day after the bye with no further setback to play vs Chitcago.
I suppose he could be week-to-week after that, but if he can come back for a playoff run, I'd rather he have 2-3 games to get reacclimated before then.

I don't want to get carried away but I think the Earl Campbell comparisons can be traced to Dillon's abilities as a runner that can both make you miss in the open field and/or run you over.  And they both had great long speed.  He isn't Earl Campbell but that combination is very rare.

I used to also post on another board that it's majority of posters were ....well let's say not "deep thinkers". The political unrest, covid, BLM movement brought out some things there that made me realize I was in the overwhelming minority and just couldn't bare to stay.

Can’t stand Aikman.

Game plan was well thought out and well executed on both sides of the ball. I expected LA's DL to be the story of the game, and the Packers OL was outstanding. Tough sledding to be sure, and AR didn't have worlds of time every drop back, but OL was the star of the show.

It's nice having a defense that doesn't completely shit the bed every drive in the 4th quarter. Rams have talent and McVay's couple odd decisions aside, he's a good playcaller. More than a solid job by the D

Taking his personality/etc out of the mix, anyone watching that yesterday and wanting to accelerate the timeline to get rid of Rodgers is insane. He made at least 2 throws that were Jennings to seal the SB level of precision. I get all of it, and we don't need to relitigate it, but it's gonna suck watching him do that for another team next year.

Special Teams is a tire fire and nothing has improved since the big words about it from the coaching staff.

Nitpicking

Going for 2 up 19. I get the thought, go up 21 and even if you allow 3 TDs you're still tied. The downside is 19 leaves you open to TD/2, TD/2, FG. Which they were faced with. Kicking the XP you're still forcing 3 TDs for them to take the lead. Not the end of the world, but think that was a bit too clever a decision. Take the 1, go up 20, and if you can't prevent 3 TDs in 16 minutes, you have a bigger problem.

After Dillon run to make it 3rd and 4 with 3:18 left, LA calls 3rd and final TO. Packers pass to try and ice the game away. I like the aggressiveness almost all the time. If you don't convert you're left with a 42 yard FG to go up 14. In years past, this is a great call. Either effectively end the game with a first down, or take the FG and force LA to score 2 TDs in just under 3 minutes.  With the adventures in FG kicking, the decision became a bit less straightforward. If you run it there, you're able to drain the clock to like 2:10 before the FG attempt. The bigger problem was again missing the FG, but given Crosby's kicking of late, taking ~ 50 seconds off the clock was probably a better decision.

It goes both ways IMHO. How much more cash does Aaron need? What does he want? Where can he go and have 2 stud RB's to hand the ball too? a stud WR and TE to throw too? An OL that balls even when depleted? A solid defense? A coach he seems to connect with? If he wants to leave he's nuts!  If AR want's to cement some kind of legacy, no matter how this season plays out, Take a pay cut so Adams, Alexander,Campbell, the Smith's, Amos, Tonyan, Douglas can be signed. And do it before the year is over so the Packers have some time to sign the others BEFORE they become FA's
