No problem going for two... tried to get it to a 1 score game. The D played well in the 1st half with the O doing them no favors (3 and outs). Once Flynn came McCarthy likely figured he had limited chances left. He put Flynn in for the offensive spark, but it also provided a bit of a boost for the defense.

I also have no problem with the FG in OT, but I was scratching my head with the calls on the first 3 downs.

Especially when Lacy pounds his way to the 4 and you essentially give up on him after that. Go with what is working and stop trying to trick the defense. They gave Lacy 7 and 8 man boxes all night and he still pounded them.

Re-watched... big problem with the first half offense.

With 14:22 left in the 4th qtr on Sunday it was 23-7 MIN

GBP goes 80 yards in less than 3 minutes to make it 23-13

MIN has a less than 3 minute drive w/1 first down and punts

GBP (@8:40 left) goes 76 yards in ~5 minutes to make it 23-20

MIN @3:24 goes 3 and out... punts

GBP @2:27 goes 57 yards in less than 2 minutes and kicks FG to tie the game 23-23

Flynn not only gave the offense a spark, but the defense stepped up there. I don't see where the D has quit on Capers. The defense played well in the 1st half vs MIN while the offense did almost nothing. GBPs 1st half drives - Punt, TD, Punt, Punt, Punt, end of half). This is why Rodgers (or any good QB) is so valuable to a team. If you keep putting your defense on the field after short/non-productive drives, eventually they will get run down. On the 5 non-scoring drives for the Packers in the 1st half they gained 75 yards and had the ball for a total of just over 8 minutes (that averages 15 yards and just over 1 and half minutes per drive). On their TD drive they gained 87 yards and held the ball for over 5 minutes.

The last sliver of hope I have for this team is that if they can stay close enough to DET, that the D might wake up (and get healthy) when AR returns and starts playing like they did before he went down.  It may be a psychological bugaboo for them knowing the backup QB ain't AR.  A guy can hope, right?

Nope. They should have brought in Tolzien to break some more Viking ankles.

this tie is 100 percent on the shoulders of our coach Mike McCarthy.

I said it at the time if we kicked the one point instead of going for two, we win the game 24-23.

Thanks Mike.

I see your point on the missed extra point, but I still think sending eddie OUTSIDE where he could continue to punk the Vikings secondary would've been a better shot than inside. And if you're going to pass near the goalline, bring Kuhn and TE in to make it look like a run the way the Niners did the other night. Wide open receiver in the end zone....
