- Me being the voice of reason in a thread that started off and ended with posters shitting on the team they root for even though they never were behind.  Not a "oh darn they scored, go Packers get it back" or some commentary on some bad plays but straight up shitting on everything the Packers did on the field.  Go back and read that thread.  A troll shows up and sounds more optimistic than half of the posters.  It's fucking pathetic.  You should be ashamed that me, of all people, was the voice of reason.  (Kudos to Artis, that guy brings it.).

The team has warts.  Go figure considering the organization just cleaned house.

Most teams have worts.

Are they breweries?  What's your point?  A 1st time/year HC may have some growing pains while the team is trying to reshape the roster?

Good point.

WORST 9-3 TEAM EVER!

+13.  Whatever, guys.  He can play.  Period.

He can absolutely play but he is still raw when it comes to routes.  A raw yet talented guy cannot cover for two other WR positions with negligible talent.  He's done a hell of a job but that simply isn't enough to compensate for the dearth of talent at WR.  If it's me I keep Adams and Lazard and jettison the rest.  Draft and sign guys.

Ditto this. Kumerow needs to go too.

Hawk 2.0.

Martinez really has morphed into Hawk right before our eyes. He is just as soft in his tackling and just as slow in coverage.

What would the Packer's defense look like without an unathletic middle linebacker leaving the short middle open all game long?

Then again, AJ got a big new contract for making tackles 5-10 yards downfield and never doing anything of consequence so maybe the Packers will similarly reward Martinez.

Old pissant heaven.  It'll replace angrily worded letters to the editor.

What will ILB position look like without Martinez?

I guess that's me?  I'm not up to date on the Plant Snivel part.

In any case, I think 50 had a better game today.  He's more = 50 than < 66,

9-3 and I'm happy.  Let me have it!

The offense in the 3rd quarter really undermines the win, as the turnovers flipped a game that was starting to shift away from them. Kinda difficult to understand why they insisted on going deep in a game where the traction favored slants and crossing patterns. For an offense that is said to depend on timing, an awful lot is left to be desired in that regard.

I liked that they started moving Alexander and King around. King seems more comfortable on the left side for some reason.

I lack excitement for the way the offense moved the ball in this game, against one of the leagues worst defenses, missing a few key players, and in the snow. An offense that can overcome the shortcomings of this defense needs to pass the eye test. This one doesn’t... to me at least.

Hmm, and here I thought any win was a good win.  Remember that Chumley?

You want to know why they don't go to slants and crossing patterns?  Because they don't have any receivers outside of Adams who can do it consistently.  Call me kooky, I'm pretty sure Adams will be in double coverage a lot of the time.  If Lazard was more polished there would be more options.  His biggest plays aren't perfect routes they're running across or down the field and making leaping grabs.  There are no back shoulder passes yet.

31 points.  Unimpressed.

If you don't know the crew you aren't part of the crew.  You shall remain Brak and return to the Carolina swamp mountains diminished (name that quote!).

Martinez is getting a contract based on two things, need and the fact he isn't a completely horrible worthless ILB.  He's not a 3 down ILB but having no one to help cover doesn't make him a complete stiff.  He is what he is.  He isn't AJ Hawk.  He was drafted in the 4th round.  He's made a pretty damn good showing considering his skillset.

Would I be fine if they replaced him with a draft pick or FA signing?  Sure, but that means they just plowed a ton of capital into the ILB position to compensate for both spots.

A win is a win... there’s truth to that. They got win #9 and they have the inside track. Keep winning the winables and get in position. sure.

but against this team I was hoping to see them put the hammer down and pummel. They needed to, the offense has really struggled. But that never really happened in this game. that to me is disappointing.

Maybe you’re right on the ability for these WRs to get open. Adams wasn’t very good his second year, perhaps that’s what is going on here. I think Lazard has more to offer right now. But I also do not like the ways they were using Jones- seemed like several high degree of difficulty plays, when they just needed to get him in space like they did before. And if they were in zone, that should play into dink and dunk in the holes- which also happened just a few times today.

I’m with you about this being a win, and all of them are precious. But it was far too  disjointed at several junctures to provide any feeling of confidence after that ass whoopin’ last week...

A lovely Thanksgiving weekend, great food, great time spent with family, and a great weekend of football.

Shoutout to Sean Lewis for getting to 6-6 at Kent State. Getting Bowl eligible there should get you a statue and a street named after you. He's gonna be a hot name for a P5 job very soon.

While there basketball team can go to hell, it was really fun watching Indiana get 8 wins and providing this moment

I'm out of stuffing.

Blake Martinez is a productive MLB but he does have his limitations.  He is not a 3-down linebacker with exceptional coverage skills.  GB needs to draft one of those dudes or sign one in FA.

GB will resign Martinez.  Wait and see suckas.

I say they won't because he thinks he's worth $6 million a year and I say $3 million at best. Someone will pay the 6. Should we?

Lowry is making almost 7 per. Martinez will get paid at least that much, but hopefully not by GB.

....and just like Brad Jones and AJ Hawk before him, it will be a huge mistake.

His production can be replaced by an off the street guy at a fraction of what he is going to ask for in free agency.   If this was baseball, Blake is like a .5 WAR.   Barely better than replacement level.

Positives:  Any time you get to kick the Giants' ass is a good day.   It doesn't quite make up for playoff losses in '07 and '11 to those guys, but it slightly eases the sting.

+ Rodgers gets an A for the day.  I wouldn't call it an A+ performance as it was a little choppy, but he made some absolutely great throws today.

+ DBs did a good job of holding onto the mostly easy INTs Daniel Jones was giving them.

+ Zadarious

+ Defense in general for not letting Barkley break anything big.

- Not a whole lot to be negative about.  Really the only thing is that they did let the Giants hang around a bit as they were a little inconsistent for the first 1/3 of the game, but geez, I think this was one of the Pack's best wins of the year so not going to nitpick too much on this one.
